Nicholas Herboso

Meteorologist
Nicholas Herboso

Nicholas Herboso is the newest member of the FOX10 StormTracker Team. He comes to FOX10 from the University of South Alabama, where he studied broadcast meteorology and minored in music. At USA, he learned from a passionate faculty that inspired him to achieve high scores in his classes, earning him multiple departmental awards. This is Nicholas's first job out of college, and it is a massive achievement for him. He is excited about what his future holds at FOX10.

Nicholas is a native of Fairhope, AL, and is proud to call the Gulf Coast home. He was motivated to pursue a career in weather broadcasting after living through multiple hurricanes on the Gulf Coast and watching the coverage from local meteorologists like John Edd Thompson, especially after watching their coverage of the 2004 and 2005 hurricane seasons. Past extreme weather events got Nicholas interested in weather early on. For him, weather is a passion that he is excited to share with viewers.

Along with his passion for meteorology, Nicholas is a true music lover. His musical history goes back to his time in the J. Larry Newton School band, where he started his journey as a trombone player. He played in multiple ensembles through his schooling, culminating in his tenure as bass trombonist for the University of South Alabama Wind Ensemble. He also developed a passion for the marching arts, leading him to serve as a Drum Major for the Fairhope High School Band and the University of South Alabama Jaguar Marching Band, and outside of school with the Southern Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. Nicholas marched in both Drum Corps International and Drum Corps Associates for a total of three seasons. Two of those seasons were spent marching baritone and euphonium at Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps, a locally based corps out of Mobile.

Music has played an important part in his life, and he hopes to continue this passion outside of work by playing in local ensembles.

Outside of work and his music activities, Nicholas enjoys spending time running along Mobile Bay, shopping at local stores, and dining at local restaurants.
