Julie Katz

Julie Katz is the Content Producer for Gray Television’s Local News Live. She launched the position in January 2023 as part of the relaunch.

Prior to LNL, Julie served as the sole morning show producer at WCBD-TV in Charleston, S.C. Under her leadership, the show became the top morning show in the market, beating the legacy station. During her 9 years at WCBD, Julie extensively produced stories that garnered national attention including the Charleston church shooting and the Murdaugh murders.

Julie began her news career at WNEP in Scranton, Pa. before heading to Providence, Rhode Island and California’s Central Coast.

Julie has known since the age of 12 that she wanted to be a journalist and began feeding her passion in high school by doing the morning announcements live to the community. The work continued through college as she led Penn State’s student-run newscast before heading to Washington, DC for Fall 2010 where she interned with NBC News Channel.

Julie is thrilled to be back in Washington, DC. When not at work, you can catch her with her husband and son.
