VOLUNTEER WITH US

At the Hawai'i Health & Harm Reduction Center (H3RC), we believe that every person can contribute to building a healthier and more compassionate community. Our volunteers play a crucial role in supporting our mission to reduce health disparities and promote harm reduction across Hawai'i. Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a long-term commitment, your time and skills can make a significant impact on the lives of those we serve.

Three Easy Options: One Large Impact

H3RC Monthly Food Distribution

Location: Na Kupuna Makamae Center

653 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96813

When: The 4th Wednesday of each month.

12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

​

Description: Help inspect, sort and pack fresh food, produce and bread.  This prepares food for distribution to those in need.

​

Requirements: Volunteers will be required to stand, lift and bend throughout the duration of the entire shift. May require work in the direct sun.  Must wear closed toe shoes. The minimum age to volunteer is 18 years old.

H3RC Monthly Volunteer Day

Location: Kaka'ako Office

677 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96813

When: The XXX Thursday of each month.

10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

​

Description: Volunteers at H3RC assist with a variety of tasks, including wound care kit assembly,  event support, administrative duties, and overdose prevention support, all contributing to our mission of promoting health and harm reduction in the community.

​

Requirements: Volunteers for our Monthly Volunteer Day must be at least 18 years of age, complete a volunteer application, and have a commitment to upholding H3RC’s values of respect and compassion.

Special Event Support

​Description: Volunteering at special events for HHHRC offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to support key initiatives like World AIDS Day, Transgender Day of Remembrance, and the Hawaii State Harm Reduction Conference. Volunteers play a crucial role in event setup, coordination, engaging with attendees, helping to amplify the event's impact and spread awareness about critical health issues in the community.

Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age or be accompanied by an adult, must complete a volunteer application and have a commitment to upholding H3RC’s values of respect and compassion.

Co-Pay Update

Since our opening, we have not collected payment for medical services from our clients in an effort to provide low-threshold, affordable healthcare. However, to remain in compliance with State and Federal laws, HHHRC will be collecting co-pays effective July 1, 2024.
