Robin Roberts wowed her Good Morning America co-stars and viewers as she bravely endured a scoring hot live segment.
She endured taunts from Michael Strahan and others in the studio while enduring a special edition of Hot Ones.
During the event, host Sean Evans informed Robin she had set a record due to the early morning participation in the show featuring increasingly hotter wings.
She answered interview questions while sampling four hot wings, including one that is part of the famous “last dab” and includes an extra dab of hot sauce.
Following the live television segment, many individuals praised the GMA anchor, and the host even dropped by to react to Robin’s participation.
However, as Robin shared, the aftermath of her braving the live edition of Hot Ones for GMA involved some rough consequences later.

The fall festival season is upon us! Each year, dozens of movies premiere at festivals with distributors looking to launch them before they’re released in theaters or on streaming services. But dozens more are independent films without distribution that come to the festivals looking to be discovered and acquired for release. This year, over 200 movies are making their world premieres across the Venice Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, the Telluride Film Festival, and the New York Film Festival, and we’re anticipating some big name movie sales across all four.
Right as Venice got underway, we saw U.S. deals for two of the biggest competition titles on the slate, Pablo Larraín’s “Maria” to Netflix and Luca Guadagnino’s “Queer” to A24. In the list below, we’ll be updating this post throughout the festivals listing out every movie that a distributor buys for domestic release.

Splashy Last Week On The Lido
Uncharacteristically buzzy: The Venice Film Festival ends tomorrow after an uncharacteristically buzzy second week. The festival is usually front-loaded, with the splashiest titles playing early. This year, however, Alberto Barbera, who dished to Andreas, said the lengthy runtimes of some competition titles meant the spoils had to spread across both weeks. Enter Brady Corbet’s 215-minute post-wwii epic The Brutalist, starring Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Stacy Martin, Raffey Cassidy, Emma Laird, Isaach De Bankolé and Alessandro Nivola. The pic was well received, landing a 13-minute ovation from the Sala Grande audience. Pedro Almodóvar launched his English-language debut The Room Next Door with his leading ladies Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore.

Exclusive: Netflix has won an auction for the Stephen Chbosky-directed comedy Nonnas in a deal Deadline hears is $20 million-plus for worldwide rights. Several bidders were in the mix on a film that had been invited to be part of the Toronto International Film Festival slate. That has changed and the film won’t make the trip. Netflix will release the film globally in 2025.
Scripted by Liz Maccie, and based on a true story, Nonnas stars Vince Vaughn, Susan Sarandon, Lorraine Bracco, Talia Shire, Brenda Vaccaro, Linda Cardellini, Drea De Matteo, Joe Manganiello, Michael Rispoli, and Campbell Scott.
Vaughn plays Joe, a single man in a dead-end job whose mother has spoiled him with her cooking. When she dies, he tries to pull himself out of grief mode by risking everything to open an Italian restaurants and honor his mother. He enlists a group of Italian grandmothers, who feed his love for home cooking, and they become surrogate moms. Chbosky has a knack for this kind of material, directing Wonder and The Perks of Being a Wallflower among others.
Nonnas is produced by Gigi Pritzker and Rachel Shane for Madison Wells, and Jack Turner for Matador Content. The exec producers are Alexis Garcia, Scott Budnick and Ameet Shukla for 1Community, Vince Vaughn, Jay Peterson and Todd Lubin for Matador Content, Amanda Morgan Palmer and Stacy Calabrese for Madison Wells.

Netflix confirmed the deal, and offered reaction from Nonnas‘ filmmaking team:
Gigi Pritzker, whose Madison Wells originated the film, said she was “delighted that Nonnas has found a great home at Netflix, where it will be widely seen and enjoyed. The film focuses on family, food and community, and in this turbulent time those are things we can all celebrate.”
Said Fifth Season Head of Film Christopher Slager: “Once again Stephen Chbosky has brought magic to the screen in this heartfelt and joyous film. We cannot wait for audiences everywhere to sit down at the table with us and share this fantastic film thanks to our partners at Netflix.”
Scott Budnick, 1Community Executive Producer added that “Nonnas is a celebration of family – the ones you’re born into and the ones you create. We are thrilled to bring this family to Netflix.”

The deal was brokered by WME Independent and Fifth Season, latter of which was the studio on the film. It marks the third deal in the run-up to a Toronto Festival that is chock full of acquisition titles, including some titles that played Telluride. This after the Dito Montiel-directed Riff Raff was acquired for US by Roadside Attractions, and Sony Pictures Classics acquired Jane Austen Wrecked My Life before its TIFF premiere.
The available titles that buyers saw at Telluride include September 5, about how ABC Sports team broadcasting the 1972 Olympics in Munich, German rose to the moment and covered the kidnap and massacre of 11 members of the Israeli team in real time. The twists and turns and split-second decisions they made under Roone Arledge make for a harrowing thriller. Also in that mix is The Friend. In that film, Bill Murray plays an acclaimed writer whose companion is a Great Dane named Apollo. When he dies, the dog is adopted by one of the writer’s protegees (Naomi Watts) who tries to stash the oversized high-maintenance pooch in her Manhattan rent-controlled apartment, which has a firm no dogs allowed policy. Scott McGehee and David Siegel direct a film that was one of the buzz titles of Tellurides.
While recent TIFF deal making has been slow going each year since the pandemic, the abundance of plum titles with strong casts, and an expected buyer appetite could portend a strong atmosphere for deals. TIFF begins tomorrow night.

Well, that was another riveting episode of “the only point of this title is to connect to the source material,” wasn’t it?
In all seriousness, the monkey is getting further away from being relevant.
However, it is worth noting that the primate who plays Driggs is quite the acting talent.
(Courtesy of Apple TV+)
Still, that’s no excuse for calling a show Bad Monkey when the titular character is only ever around to eat grapes and display how easily he can be picked up.
Then again, the absurdity of the show’s title matches the chill and casual vibes of the series.
But as fun as Bad Monkey is, that doesn’t excuse its somewhat uneven storytelling.
After A Chaotic Start, Bad Monkey Is Shaping Into A Story With Substance And Stamina.
Some shows can have a million different plates spinning in the air without any risk of falling.

Is Jennifer Aniston having second thoughts about her ex-husband, Justin Theroux? As per Star Magazine , this seems to be the case.
A source recently told the celebrity gossip magazine that the Friends star misses her ex-hubby and has realized how good they were together. The source went on to say that they’d have fun together and laugh, noting “no one” would be surprised if their romance were to be reignited at some point.

According to the report, the exes have been seen grabbing dinner together with other friends, and have celebrated past holidays together, like Thanksgiving.

Friends can easily be among the top three on any sitcom lover’s watch list. From the cast’s iconic dialogues to witty yet hilarious storylines, the show managed to maintain the same quality throughout the years. This was not an easy task, given how things can easily go wrong when a sitcom has been running for 12 long seasons.
Not only the quality, but the sitcom also brought some exceptionally talented actors to the forefront. Among them, David Schwimmer was the most well-known due to his previous projects, while others were relatively unknown.

Apple TV+ really is an underrated streamer. I feel like the platform has a lot to offer, but sometimes it's difficult to compete with the bigger companies like Netflix and Max. They kind of dominate the playing field. But, that doesn't mean you're not going to find great content on Apple TV+ like Shrinking.
And that's why you're here, right? You've watched the comedy-drama, liked it, and now would like something else to fill your time as we await Shrinking season 2. Well, it won't be long now! The second season premieres Oct. 16. But, it is still a while which means you have plenty of time to start watching something new! Here's 5 good Apple TV+ shows like Shrinking to check out now.

It’s all about Eve on the latest episode of Miami Vice, I mean Bad Monkey.
An excellent storytelling tool is when a series, film, or whatever pokes fun at its plot.
It’s an effective way to relate to the audience and turn a lackluster part into something better than it previously was.
(Courtesy of Apple TV+)
The main thing to remember, though, is that the viewers should be aware of the poking, whereas with Bad Monkey, it isn’t clear if the show takes itself seriously or not.
For a series that feels like nothing is ever really happening, the writers have managed to create a thrilling and funny series that strolls through the plot like a morning walk down the beach.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Bad Monkey Season 1, Episodes 1-3.] Bad Monkey may still be unfolding its current season on Apple TV+, but we’re already beginning to wonder if the Vince Vaughn-led dramedy from Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence will carry on for a second season. While that may be a question that puts the cart before the horse, Bad Monkey‘s source material hints at the possibility of a continuation. Based on Carl Hiaasen’s bestselling novel of the same name, the cult favorite has been adapted for the screen this season, but Andrew Yancy (Vaughn) appears in another novel of Hiaasen’s titled Razor Girl. Apple TV+ Bad Monkey tells the story of Andrew Yancy who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department to work as a health inspector in the Florida Keys. When he stumbles upon a case that begins with a severed arm being pulled from the ocean,...

High school has been a reliable TV sitcom setting since the days of Welcome Back, Kotter, but the situation in American schools is so fraught these days, it’s not exactly a laugh riot. FX’s English Teacher, though — premiering Monday, Sept. 2 at 10/9c; I’ve seen the first three episodes — bravely wades into those choppy waters and finds plenty of laughs there by taking a refreshingly frank look at our current educational system. It’s one of the funniest new shows of the year, and it’s a triumph for star and series creator Brian Jordan Alvarez, who announces...

"American Murder: Laci Peterson” was the most-watched streaming original series in the U.S. Aug. 16-22, which marked its first full week of availability, per Luminate. That’s up from fifth place with 255.3 million minutes watched the week before, though the docuseries was only available for two days during that window.

Let it be said that every offbeat crime series should begin with the discovery of a severed limb. Vince Vaughn has proven time and again his ability to transition from the snark that defined many an early role into a career that’s allowed him to stretch his less-humorous chops via dour turns on the worst-received season of “True Detective” to some aggression in “Brawl in Cell Block 99.” “Bad Monkey,” the latest from Apple TV+ prodigy Bill Lawrence and based on a book by Carl Hiaasen, sees Vaughn ease back into a character no one else but he could inhabit, surrounded by a show unsure of what it’s trying to accomplish.

I remember the moment I realized how much I love television. It was March 2, 2014, and for the first time in years, I skipped the Oscar telecast completely. I did it to watch a new episode of "True Detective," which was nearing the end of its phenomenal, influential, heavily-discussed first season. The show's grip on American pop culture that year was incredible: It won five Emmys, inspired countless parodies, and lit up the internet with theories and Easter egg hunts. People read Robert W. Chambers' "The King in Yellow" after the word "Carcosa" popped up in the show. Viewers made gifs and edits of every single shot of Matthew McConaughey's hilariously bleak protagonist. And, importantly, people in Hollywood clearly started searching for the next "True Detective."
In the years that followed the show's first season, a whole host of TV series appeared that clearly followed the "True Detective" rulebook: Slow-burn criminal investigations,...

You’re going to want to cancel your Friday night plans for this one. More than two years after its acclaimed freshman season captured viewers’ hearts, Apple TV+’s generation-spanning family drama “Pachinko” returns for its highly anticipated sophomore outing, losing none of what made it special in the intervening years.
The intimate series from Soo Hugh, which is adapted from Min Jin Lee’s 2017 novel of the same name, again stands out for the way it uses multiple timelines to tell the story of a Korean family living in Japan during the 20th century. In the new season — the first episode of which is now streaming — the timelines creep ever closer, and we see how Sunja’s life during the end of World War II connects with and compares to the lives of her family, including her grandson Solomon (Jin Ha), in the 1980s. Everyone knows Apple TV+ for Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, and Severance. There have been a few other popular TV shows sprinkled in over the last few years. Presumed Innocent starring Jake Gyllenhaal had some good buzz recently. Despite Apple TV+’s substantial investment into the TV business, it’s still looking for mainstream hits.

Welcome back to another riveting episode of “funny looking tall man attracts beautiful women with his questionable humor.” Otherwise known as Bad Monkey.
I’m not suggesting the series is one formulaic cliche after another. I’m actively typing it at the top of my lungs.
That said, Bad Monkey is a genuinely funny show with a lot going for it beyond Vince Vaughn.
(Courtesy of Apple TV+)
As the story develops alongside another, this series is taking its time before the two intertwine.
While it was a questionable decision initially, it’s becoming clear why that was the best route. The series can fully flesh out the major characters before things get crazy.
Although, I don’t know how much time Vince Vaughn needs to develop a character based on Vince Vaughn.

Slated for production in December, That Friend centers on Paul (Guillén), that one friend we all have whose invitation for “one drink” seems harmless but the next thing you know, you’re drunk on a Tuesday, swaying in your kitchen eating dry top ramen out of the bag and wishing you hadn’t just sent that text. What’s summer without a breezy, paradise-set murder-mystery? Enter Bad Monkey, an adaptation of Carl Hiaasen’s bestselling cult novel and the latest effort from Ted Lasso and Shrinking creator Bill Lawrence. With a similarly quirky blend of eccentrics as those shows, this ten-episode dark comedy joins the swelling roster of murder-mystery shows on Apple TV+.
Channelling the likes of Dexter and Death In Paradise, this is a solidly entertaining crime-solving caper which trades heavily in nicely gripping twists and turns, as it delves deep into the greed and corruption in both the Florida Keys and The Bahamas. What begins as a local case involving a severed limb discovered on a fishing trip quickly balloons into an increasingly absurd investigation, complete with cons, Russian mobs, crooked cops and voodoo magic. Some viewers, it’s fair to say, may need to suspend a fair bit of disbelief as that ridiculousness escalates.

“I keep slipping into Valerie Cherish, don’t I?” Meredith Hagner has done plenty of press in her career, particularly for her breakout role in Search Party and the Vacation Friends franchise, but this is the first time she’s sat down for a meal and really rehashed her full biography with a recorder running. She’s concerned she’s trafficking in the same acting cliches as Lisa Kudrow’s famously deluded character in The Comeback.
But the cliches along the 37-year-old’s career path sound novel. They’re almost from another time. She moved to New York from North Carolina after graduating high school on the promise of an unpaid job in a Fringe Fest play. She slept on a hand-me-down hospice bed (with rollers!) that her grandmother had just died in. And, to pay rent on the railroad apartment she shared with a server at cringe tourist trap Jekyll & Hyde Club,...

In the vast pantheon of hidden gems of fantasy and sci-fi from the early 2000s, “The Cell” comes highly recommended. Take it from “SNL” vet and director of the forthcoming horror-comedy “Y2K” — when we asked to interview Kyle Mooney about a movie from that time period, he knew exactly which one he wanted to talk about.
“I feel like ‘The Cell’ as a title is ambiguous enough that you don’t necessarily know what that implies,” Mooney said, video chatting with IndieWire from his backyard in Los Angeles. “And I’m not trying to be hyperbolic here, but it was one of the most sensational movie-going experiences of my life — one where I didn’t know what the movie was and got fully caught off guard by something so wildly different from what I could have ever expected.

When you think about adrenaline-pumping movies, action, and adventure films are the first that come to mind.
But there is no doubt you can get an adrenaline rush from thrillers, horror, and even some high-stakes drama films as well.

For Bill Lawrence and Vince Vaughn, “Bad Monkey” was more than just another show. It was a passion project fueled by an author they both love, Carl Hiaasen.
“Without being a dork, he was so influential for me as a storyteller. I started reading his books when I was a teenager,” Bill Lawrence, the developer and executive producer behind the Apple TV+ original, told TheWrap.
Lawrence has a long history with Florida, the setting behind Hiaasen’s quip-filled and twisted literary thrillers. His parents currently live there, and his aunts and uncles are all fishing guides along the St. Johns River. Given that background and Lawrence’s own sense of humor, it’s only natural he would connect with one of the bestselling novelists in Florida, an author who’s known for his dark comedy as much as his grisly murder mysteries.
“You can draw a straight line from Carl...

Shrinking creator Bill Lawrence has a three-season vision for the Apple TV+ comedy. Set to return for Season 2 on Wednesday, October 16, Shrinking stars Jason Segel as Jimmy, a grieving therapist who adopts a radical form of therapy to help his clients and himself move forward with their lives. His work decisions bleed into his personal life — a likely thing to happen when your work family is also your chosen family. Lawrence created the series with his fellow Ted Lasso alum Brett Goldstein. In a new interview all about his beloved TV hits like Ted Lasso and Scrubs and his new Vince Vaughn-led series Bad Monkey, Lawrence revealed that they pitched a short run for Shrinking and shared his outline for each season. From a budgetary perspective alone, Bill Lawrence — the writer behind “Scrubs,” “Ted Lasso,” “Cougar Town” and “Shrinking” — shouldn’t have shot his new Apple TV+ series “Bad Monkey” in Florida.
“There’s no tax break, and it’s immediately more expensive,” Lawrence says. “There are so many regulations about the wildlife and about what you’re allowed to do. There was a massive storm every 20 minutes that you have to shut down production. Animals were wandering around everywhere. It was tricky. But it mattered to Carl.”
“Carl” is Carl Hiaasen, Lawrence’s favorite author and the famed Miami-based writer behind the 2013 novel “Bad Monkey,” upon which the new series is adapted. Before Hiaasen would sign off on the show, he had one major stipulation: You have to film it in Florida.
“I went from thinking it wasn’t worth it when I was there — because it was a nightmare — to being really grateful,...

Things were not so bright and cheery on this episode of Sunny.
While the series has always had a foot firmly placed in the intense thriller category, it’s managed to maintain a lightness through its use of comedic dialogue.
Long gone are the days of sharp, witty, and perfectly timed quips on Sunny.

The tides have turned into a darker and much more serious story.
It may be time for viewers to adjust to a different kind of show.
Like life, circumstances and situations can change on a dime, and Sunny manages to portray that despite a story deeply rooted in science fiction.
