Rodney Dangerfield was the king of telling dumb jokes about his wife, a practice he got away with because his own ineptitude as a romantic partner usually made him the butt of the joke. But in the name of spreading the wealth, here are plenty of classic and contemporary comics joining Dangerfield in delivering spousal punchlines. Before you head to marriage counseling, take these dumb wife jokes — please…
1 Hasan Minhaj
“I recently got married. It was like a reverse Lord of the Rings situation where I got a ring and then I lost half of my power.”
2 Rodney Dangerfield
“My wife and I were happy for 20 years. Then we met.”
3 Nate Bargatze
“She put Life360 on my phone. That’s so they can track you even when they’re not near you. You might not even know you have it on your phone. It’s worse than what the government’s doing.

Soon, Hugh Jackman will return as Logan in the highly-anticipated "Deadpool & Wolverine," hopefully returning the Marvel Cinematic Universe to glory in the process. If there's one role the Aussie actor is known for, after all, it's Wolverine/Logan, and as "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" taught us all, cramming your movie full of fan-favorite cameos is a recipe for box office success — though, in the latter's case, not necessarily for a good film.
Jackman has spoken about how he saved "Deadpool 3" with a phone call to star Ryan Reynolds, on which he expressed his desire to appear in the movie, prompting the literal "ka-ching" sound in the minds of Reynolds and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige. However, even Feige advised Jackman against returning as Wolverine, mainly due to his historic run in the various X-Men films and James Mangold's almost...

Directed by Greg Berlanti and produced by star Scarlett Johansson, the romantic dramedy Fly Me to the Moon was originally meant to be released directly to the Apple TV+ streaming service, but strong test screenings inspired Sony to give the film a theatrical release first. The movie isn’t setting the box office on fire, having pulled in just $20 million worldwide during its first week of release, but it will be heading to Apple TV+ soon anyway – and Berlanti and Johansson were able to establish a strong working relationship during the making of the film. That’s a working relationship they’re now set to continue with a psychological thriller called Sasha, and Deadline reports that Amazon MGM Studios has come out the winner of a five-way auction to land the rights to the project.

Yes, I see that title and I immediately picture “ole’ blue eyes”, a trench coat draped over a shoulder, crooning that catchy 1954 Bart Howard classic. And that’s just what the producers want to evoke, to get you in a nostalgic mood for a frothy romance set against the backdrop of the “space race”. Mission accomplished, but could a “rom-com” really work against the somber historical backdrop we’ve seen in heavy, serious films like First Man, A Million Miles Away, Hidden Figures, Apollo 13, and the HBO miniseries, “From the Earth to the Moon”.Now, that’s the trick, much like the possible results facing NASA, Will it blast off or crash land? But it’s “star power” rather than rocket fuel that propels Fly Me To The Moon.

Channing Tatum can’t recall the first scene he and Scarlett Johansson filmed together for “Fly Me to the Moon.” He does, however, remember where they first met: at a table read for the romantic comedy.
Although Tatum and Johansson were both involved in the films “Don Jon” and “Hail, Caeser!,” the two actors “never crossed paths,” as Tatum puts it, until “Fly Me to the Moon.”
“I remember us going down right after the table read to go into hair and makeup and start to try to figure out our look for the movie — it’s period and everything — and she was trying to figure out her wig for the movie,” Tatum told Variety at the “Fly Me to the Moon” premiere in New York City on Monday night. “I just immediately started making fun of her wig. Scarlett Johansson is certainly one of the most accomplished A-list actresses in the industry with several hits and accolades throughout her career. The actress has balanced her films with the right amount of franchise blockbusters and character-driven dramas that have shown her versatility as an actor. Chicago – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com audio film review for “Fly Me the Moon,” an alternative history satire about the Apollo 11 first-msn-on-the-moon mission, featuring Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum and Woody Harrelson. In theaters on July 12th.
Rating: 3.0/5.0
The premise is basically a parallel universe to the actual event in 1969 as Channing Tatum is Cole Davis, the flight director for Apollo 11. When expected funding is being held up by Congress, the Nixon administration sends an uncover CIA spook named Moe (Woody Harrelson), who helps NASA to hire a hot shot Mad-Men era marketing expert named Kelly Jones (Scarlett Johansson) to boost the profile in the space race against the Soviet Union. This confuses Cole’s right-hand man Henry (Ray Romano) and puts pressure on the rest of the mission, including a commercial film director hired by Kelly named Lance (Jim Rash), who is given a peculiar assignment.

Jimmy Kimmel is finally hosting “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” the way it’s supposed to be done — in front of a studio audience. The landmark game show returns with an all-celeb edition for its 25th anniversary on Wednesday night, and although this is the third season he’s been in the chair that Regis Philbin made famous, this is the first time fans have finally been allowed back in the studio.
“I really wanted to do it the proper way in front of people because you like to hear people laugh at your jokes,” Kimmel says. “Also, the drama that goes along with a couple of hundred people watching the action happen is an important part of the show. I mean, doing the show in front of nobody is no fun.”
But that’s what Kimmel had to do in March 2020 when he first came on to host the primetime series’ revival.

America is in crisis. It’s the late 1960s, and President John F. Kennedy’s promise to put a man on the moon by the end of the decade has yet to be fulfilled. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration — NASA, for short — has experienced a major setback when a launch rehearsal test for the Apollo 1 goes awry and all three crew members perish. The Russkies appear to have the lead in the Space Race, the public interest in conquering the stars is waning, and the organization’s funding is on the chopping block.

Exclusive: At the height of Peak TV, Greg Berlanti’s career took off like a rocket. His Berlanti Productions had a record-breaking 15 shows on the air simultaneously, from DC properties like The Flash, Supergirl and Arrow to Riverdale and Blindspot. Berlanti will have six shows on air this fall, which gave him time to launch Fly Me to the Moon, starring Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, Woody Harrelson and Ray Romano. The rom-com pairs Johansson as a gifted but shady sales person trying to outrun her past, and Tatum as a fighter pilot-turned-NASA leader trying to help beat the Russians to the moon. She comes to Cape Canaveral at the behest of a Nixon fixer (Harrelson), hired to stage the moon landing for a telecast to run on global TV if things go awry. It’s the first film Berlanti has directed since 2018’s Love, Simon, a crowd pleasing theatrical release.

Directed by Greg Berlanti, this charming romantic comedy-drama set against the thrilling backdrop of the 1960s Space Race stars Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum and Woody Harrelson.
The film centres on the unexpected romance between Kelly Jones (Johansson doing her best impression of Christina Hendricks as Joan Harris in Mad Men), an advertising specialist brought in to improve NASA’s public image, and the handsome, yet taciturn Cole Davis (Tatum), the NASA director responsible for the Apollo 11 launch.
Channelling classic ’60s romcoms like Pillow Talk and A Touch of Mink, the film follows Kelly and Cole as they clash over how to “sell” the moon-landing to a Vietnam war-weary American public. But as they start to fall for one another, their already shaky relationship is thrown into deeper turmoil when Kelly is ordered by Harrelson’s enigmatic secret service boss Moe Berkus, to orchestrate and then film a fake moon landing,...

Greg Berlanti’s high-concept rom-com Fly Me to the Moon emphasizes the optimism of the Space Race while also regarding the militaristic motives behind early space exploration with a jaundiced, decidedly modern perspective. It opens at the top of 1969, with NASA having less than a year to make good on John F. Kennedy’s 1961 promise to get astronauts to the moon before the end of the decade. With the Apollo program seemingly stalled out and congressional enthusiasm for the space program waning, certain government agencies decide to rejuvenate public interest and secure further federal funding to ensure that the Soviet Union, following a string of spaceflight achievements, doesn’t again embarrass the U.S.
To do so, a mysterious official, Moe (Woody Harrelson), recruits Madison Avenue marketing executive Kelly Jones (Scarlett Johansson) to mount a PR campaign on NASA’s behalf, and to the bafflement of the space agency’s...

There is something charming, even enchanting, about Greg Berlanti’s Fly Me to the Moon. For one, the film is set in an era that looks to the stars as the last great exploration with unlimited possibilities. With the help of Shane Valentino’s production design, Lauren Rosenbloom’s art direction, and Mary Zophres’s costume design, Berlanti’s film drops the audience into another time and place.
The other is the relative newcomer Rose Gilroy’s script, an utterly delightful exercise in romantic nostalgia. Along with two lovely performances by Fly Me to the Moon’s leads, Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum (and a scene-stealing comic gem from Community’s Jim Rash), this makes for the type of old-fashioned escapism Hollywood tends to shy away from nowadays.

Director Greg Berlanti didn’t intend for his new romantic comedy “Fly Me to the Moon” to have a theatrical release.
“It was originally direct to streaming,” Berlanti says, speaking Thursday at a friends and family screening of the movie at San Vicente Bungalows in West Hollywood. “But then we handed in the cut and we started testing it. We tested it in Denver and it went very well. We tested it in California and we tested it in Texas. Every time, it was very much a resounding response from the focus group and testing that this was a theatrical movie.”
The film was produced by Apple Original Films and will be distributed by Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures.

Exclusive: Chloe East (The Fabelmans) is set for a key recurring role opposite Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow in Netflix‘s upcoming comedy series No Good Deed, from creator Liz Feldman (Dead to Me).
The eight-episode No Good Deed is a half-hour, dark comedy that follows three very different families vying to buy the very same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they think will solve all their problems. But as the sellers have already discovered, sometimes the home of your dreams can be a total nightmare.
East will play Emily Morgan, Paul (Romano) and Lydia (Kudrow) Morgan’s artsy but put-together daughter. She’s been away at college, but there may be other reasons she’s been distant.
Feldman serves as showrunner and executive produces alongside Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum for Gloria Sanchez Productions, Christie Smith, and Silver Tree, who will direct the pilot and additional episodes.

Ray Romano was chatting it up with Bill Maher on his Club Random podcast, and the discussion turned to “worst places to do stand-up.” While Maher would undoubtedly have chosen “college campuses,” that wasn’t Romano’s pick for comedy hell. He knew a place much less forgiving than any woke university arts center. “Did you ever do cruise ships?” Romano asked.
You can practically hear Maher shudder. “I paid my dues. I can prove it,” he said defensively. “I’ve had beer cans thrown at me opening for rock stars. But I will not do a cruise.”
Romano has delivered punchlines on the high seas and lived to tell the tale. The problem with floating comedy? If the audience hates you, you’re spending the next five days with them on the Aloha Deck.

Bob Yari’s startup mini-major Magenta Light Studios has found its first in-house film production in “Summerhouse,” a period drama set against the anxiety of the Vietnam War.
“Bombshell” and “Halloween” star Malcolm McDowell will lead the project with Jacob Ward, an up-and-comer who made his debut in Ray Romano’s 2022 film “Somewhere in Queens.” Ed Kaplan (“2 Graves in the Desert”) will write the script and direct, with Shelly Jonson as director of photography.
Production will begin in Connecticut this month. Moonstone Entertainment will represent the international sales, previewing for buyers out of Cannes’ Marche du Film.
“Summerhouse” follows college grad Ned Stern (Ward) awaiting his draft into the Vietnam War. When we think of the greatest actors who opted to retire, there are really so few that ended on a high note. Daniel Day-Lewis in Phantom Thread is the first one that comes to mind, but who else would even be close? Unfortunately, it isn’t Gene Hackman, who left Hollywood after a 40+ year on the screen following 2004’s Welcome to Mooseport…which is just about the most embarrassing way to cap off such a legendary career. Then again, maybe it’s just the sort of movie that would make you want to retire.
By the time filming began on what would be his last movie, Gene Hackman was in his mid-70s and had seen enough in the business to know who was competent and, well, who would be directing Welcome to Mooseport. As co-star Maura Tierney remembered, Hackman and Donald Petrie did not get along at all when making the movie.
