"Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" is shaking up its cast for season 3. Martin Quinn, who debuted as future Enterprise Chief Engineer Montgomery "Scotty" Scott in the season 2 finale "Hegemony," will be joining the main cast. (Quinn is the third actor to play Scotty after James Doohan and Simon Pegg.)
Irish actor Cillian O'Sullivan will also be part of the recurring cast as archaeologist Dr. Roger Korby. Trekkies will recognize that name from "The Original Series," specifically the season 1 episode "What Are Little Girls Made Of?" In that episode, Korby (Michael Strong) was Nurse Chapel's (Majel Barrett) long lost fiance. The backstory was that he'd gone missing in 2261 (five years before the episode took place) on the planet Exo III. The Enterprise travels to the planet to search for him but all is not well. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of one of the greatest comedies ever made — and the greatest comedy to feature weaponized Sade records — San Diego Comic-Con is currently hosting an “immersive pop-up experience” that recreates Shaun of the Dead’s Winchester Tavern, the pub where Shaun and his buddies attempt to hole up until the zombie apocalypse blows over.
Judging from photos of the event, the recreation isn’t totally convincing. Sure, there is a familiar bar, a pool table and a limp zombie body hanging out of a jukebox, but it doesn’t really look that much like the pub in the movie. And while they’re selling special Shaun of Dead-themed beer, the faux-pub doesn’t actually have a liquor license, so it can’t be consumed on the premises.
At least we can always visit the real-life Winchester pub, right? Wrong!

“The Boys” recently wrapped it’s fourth season, but if you’re craving just a bit more with the supes, Prime Video just dropped a blooper reel.
The laugh-out-loud featurette shows almost three minutes of “The Boys” cast botching lines and takes, spewing expletives in typical fashion, and trying to make one another break during a scene.
One highlight moment shows Simon Pegg’s hospitalized Hugh Campbell making Jack Quaid break in what would otherwise be a tender moment.
“What is that? You love it,” Quaid asks in the scene about a drink Pegg’s character is sipping.
“It’s my own urine,” Pegg responds before taking a big swig.
Quaid, naturally, loses it.
Another moment shows Antony Starr as Homelander continuously refering to the character Cameron Coleman – played by Matthew Edison – as Cameron Crowe. Other gags include Jim Beaver accidentally sinking a putt when he was supposed to miss,...

[This story contains spoilers from The Boys season four.]
The universe of The Boys is expanding again.
At Comic-Con on Friday, Prime Video announced that it’s ordered a prequel series called Vought Rising that will star Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, reprising their roles from the flagship series.
Ackles made an appearance onstage at Hall H in San Diego to thunderous applause, and Cash announced the series in a video. Vought Rising joins The Boys‘ college-set spinoff Gen V and the animated show The Boys Presents: Diabolical in Prime Video’s franchise. The 1950s-set series takes place in New York City and, as Ackles said at Comic-Con, will track the “humble yet diabolical” beginnings of Vought.
The Comic-Con panel allowed the main show to take a victory lap after an acclaimed season that also shared tragic parallels to real life.

Some artists who worked on Shaun of the Dead didn't believe that the future cult classic could even secure a theatrical release — taking a Batman soundtrack to the brain will make anyone think crazy thoughts.
When Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg started filming their first joint feature in 2003, they probably didn’t expect to still be talking about Shaun of the Dead over twenty years later. What began as a humorous pastiche of George A. Romero’s landmark zombie movies eventually became the single greatest zombie comedy of all time, and the first film of Wright and Pegg’s Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy single-handedly ushered in the golden age of the genre one pint at a time.
Later this summer, the extended afterlife of Shaun of the Dead will culminate in a 20th anniversary theatrical re-release despite the fact that, back when Wright and Pegg were filming what would become their breakout hit,...

"The only thing that will redeem mankind is cooperation." An all-timer classic! Focus Features has unveiled a brand new official trailer for the 20th anniversary re-release of the zombie comedy Shaun of the Dead written and directed by Edgar Wright. This was a huge indie hit back in 2004 - it opened in April in the UK, then in September in the US, earning an impressive $13.5 million at the US box office that fall. It also launched Wright's filmmaking career, and the rest is history. "It's a screamingly hilarious zomedy that will have you dying with laughter." Shaun is a salesman whose life has no direction. However, his uneventful life takes a sudden turn when he has to singlehandedly deal with an entire horde of zombies. Starring Simon Pegg as Shaun, Nick Frost as Ed, Kate Ashfield, Lucy Davis, Bill Nighy, Dylan Moran, Penelope Wilton, Jessica Stevenson, Peter Serafinowicz, & Rafe Spall.

Simon Pegg is keen to appear in a fourth ‘Star Trek’ film, but thinks the franchise has been “forever tainted” due to the untimely passing of Anton Yelchin. The 54-year-old actor starred alongside Yelchin in J.J. Abrams’ sci-fi trilogy, though plans for another instalment in the series were cast into doubt after the young Hollywood star passed away at the age of 27 in June 2016 - just a month before the release of the third movie in the franchise, ‘Star Trek Beyond’.Pegg is still hopeful of returning to the film series but knows that a shadow would be cast over any reunion by Yelchin's tragic demise.During an appearance on Katee Sackoff’s podcast ‘The Sackoff Show’, he said: "I’d love to do more. Obviously it’s been forever tainted because we lost Anton, and that was a really hard thing for everyone involved, and for the real world,...

Tom Hanks is known for his good-guy roles in films and is often considered to be one of the greatest actors of the generation. Hanks has played iconic characters such as Saving Private Ryan’s John Miller, Toy Story’s Woody, and the eponymous character in Forrest Gump, which won him an Oscar for Best Actor.
While Hanks has not been a part of a major franchise yet, the two-time Oscar winner was reportedly being tapped to play a legendary character in the Star Trek: The Next Generation film. Though he was never cast as Zefram Cochrane, Hanks mentioned that he would have jumped at the opportunity of starring alongside Patrick Stewart.

The Star Trek reboot introduced the adventures of the legendary Spock and Kirk to a whole new generation. The reboot was initiated by J.J. Abrams, who did not return as director to the third film Star Trek Beyond. Despite the film earning over $343 million and a fourth film in development, several issues reportedly went wrong with the film behind the scenes.
One of them was lead actor Chris Pine, who played James Kirk in the reboot getting a black eye while filming a scene in the threequel. The actor was reportedly punched by Idris Elba, who mistakenly gave him a black eye. However, it did not stop the actor from brushing it off and finishing the movie in true Kirk fashion.

The actor was reportedly punched by Idris Elba, who mistakenly gave him a black eye. However, it did not stop the actor from brushing it off and finishing the movie in true Kirk fashion.

Chris Pine took over the iconic role of Captain Kirk in J.J. Abrams’ 2009 movie Star Trek. This was the reboot of the original series created under the vision of Gene Roddenberry. Pine’s performance was praised by the public so much that he returned to the character for Star Trek Beyond (2016) and Into Darkness (2013). About eight years ago, a follow-up movie was ordered in response to its enormous popularity.

However, there is still little to no knowledge regarding its development. On this topic, Chris Pine responded to certain queries in a past interview that also raised a significant Star Trek problem. This particular issue might be a solid justification for Pine to forego reprising his legendary Captain Kirk role in Star Trek 4.

The Boys recently aired the Season 4 finale episode, and fans have a lot to say. This has been one of the slowest seasons of the show since it premiered back in 2019. But there is yet another criticism the season has faced a lot. One that you would not connect to a show like The Boys.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan & Karl Urban in The Boys Season 4 | Amazon Prime
The writing of the season has not been on par with the previous ones. As the show is coming to an end after the next season, which will be its 5th and final, fans cannot help but wonder if the showrunners and the writers are trying to fastrack the storyline to come to an end. This is one criticism that has been faced by another very popular show – Taylor Sheridan created Yellowstone.

Jack Quaid’s Hughie from The Boys has been absolutely killing it since the first season. He’s the voice of reason, the glue that holds the boys together, and a total fan favorite. Believe it or not, he almost nabbed the role of Superman in James Gunn’s Dcu!

However now, the fans are rallying behind him to snag the role of Wally West in the DC universe. The irony of it all adds a hilarious twist to the mix.

Jack Quaid had many reasons to be grateful to his hero Simon Pegg, the most significant being his contribution to making The Boys possible. Fans of Garth Ennis’ comics knew that the original Hughie was modeled after the Shaun of the Dead star. Interestingly, illustrator Darick Robertson did not get permission from the actor before using his likeness for the comics.

Quaid thanked Pegg for not suing the comic book franchise, which could’ve hindered the production of such a critically acclaimed show. There were plans to make the series way back, with Pegg playing the role of Hughie, but it eventually did not materialize. Pegg got to be a part of the series nevertheless, playing Hugh Campbell Sr.

Snyder is also an avid lover of comic books and writers who have created some of the best comic runs ever. The director is a huge fan of Frank Miller’s works and wanted to adapt many of them for the big screen. Edgar Wright's horror comedy "Shaun of the Dead" was an unexpected cult hit when it was released in 2004, attracting a small but passionate crowd of snarky cineastes drawn to its clever dialogue and affection for zombies. "Shaun" is a cross between the stylish gore of Sam Raimi -- complete with a "gearing up" sequence straight out of "Evil Dead 2" -- and a brand of humorous, self-reflective quarter-life introspection engaged in by a barely-grown, pop-obsessed man-children. It was a character conceit one might frequently encounter in the films of Kevin Smith.
Made for only $6 million, "Shaun of the Dead" would make an impressive $38 million worldwide. Moreso, "Shaun of the Dead" very quickly entrenched itself into a new pop canon of nerd classics, making millions more on DVD, and frequently appearing in repertory houses as part of their midnight movie programs. It would spawn two spiritual sequels ("Hot Fuzz" and...

After Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg unleashed "Shaun of the Dead" onto the world, horror comedies were never the same. Kicking off Wright's Cornetto Trilogy starring Pegg and Nick Frost, the film skyrocketed all involved to international acclaim. Every horror comedy of the last two decades is desperately trying to capture the magic of "Shaun of the Dead," as evidenced by how many films try to drum up interest with pull quotes reading "the funniest horror comedy since 'Shaun of the Dead'" or something to that effect. And it's for a good reason -- "Shaun of the Dead" straight-up riiiiiiips. The zombies look creepy, the film's understanding of the genre is unparalleled, and for the most part -- the comedy still holds up after all these years.
"For the most part" is the operative phrase here.

Twisters whipped up a frenzy in London on Monday night as the Lee Isaac Chung disaster epic touched down at Cineworld Leicester Square for its European premiere. Before any tornadoes hit the screen, audience members got some early thrills courtesy of a very special guest in the crowd: Tom Cruise.
The Hollywood superstar attended the screening in support of his Top Gun: Maverick pals, including Glen Powell, who stars in the Universal Pictures and Warner Bros. release opposite Daisy Edgar-Jones, Harry Hadden-Paton and Anthony Ramos. There’s another Top Gun connection: That film’s director, Joseph Kosinski, is credited with story by credit on Twisters, which was written by Mark L. Smith based on characters created by Michael Crichton and Anne-Marie Martin. Cruise has also long been close to Steven Spielberg, who executive produced the new Twisters as well as the original 1996 film.

If Universal Pictures decides to drag out the body of Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg’s 2004 horror-comedy masterpiece Shaun of the Dead from its resting place and give it the unholy franchise undeath treatment, all the vinyl pressings of the Batman soundtrack in the world won’t be able to stop them.

Even though American English comes from across the pond, many discrepancies have risen between the two languages over the years, whether it's the meaning of certain words in different contexts or the pronunciation of words like "herbs" and "aluminum." There are also more amusing cases when words like "fanny" have a much different meaning in the United Kingdom. So when a movie is being imported into the United States from the UK, that can occasionally create some challenges with a film's dialogue, especially if a particular line is intended to be a punchline and the words in question have different meaning in the U.S. That's exactly why Edgar Wright's quintessential horror comedy "Shaun of the Dead" (which is still influencing movies today) had to change just one line for American audiences.

When you talk about beloved horror films of the past 25 years or so, you’d be hard pressed to find something better than “Shaun of the Dead.” The film is regarded as one of the very best horror comedies, and one of the best zombie films. That said, it wouldn’t be all that shocking if Universal decided to reboot it, as studios have been doing in recent years. But if Universal did decide to remake or reboot “Shaun of the Dead,” the studio would have to deal with the wrath of Simon Pegg.

A lot of fans have been clamoring for a sequel to the 2004 zombie romantic comedy Shaun of the Dead (watch or own it Here) from the moment they first saw the end credits on that film to start to roll, but co-writer/star Simon Pegg has always been clear about the fact that he and director/co-writer Edgar Wright have no interest in revisiting the Shaun character… and during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Pegg added that he would be incensed if Universal decided to make a Shaun of the Dead reboot, going on to explain why he finds Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead remake to be disrespectful to George A. Romero’s original film.
Shaun of the Dead has the following synopsis: Shaun is a 30-something loser with a dull, easy existence. When he’s not working at the electronics store, he lives with his slovenly best friend,...

The on-screen The Boys doesn't differ from the comic book version in terms of its global message or major plot twists. However, the screen adaptation didn't embody the same level of black humor that was on the pages of the paper version, and also changed some details about the characters.
Here is a reminder of some of the changes made that probably did not do the show any good.
1. Simon Pegg as Hughie
In the show, Hughie Campbell is the youngest member of The Boys. He joins the team when his girlfriend is killed in an accident.
In the comics, Hughie is older than in the show, he is a Glaswegian Scotsman, and the character's appearance is based on actor Simon Pegg (though no one asked his permission when the character was created). The team refers to him as Wee Hughie for most of the story.

While the zombie apocalypse rages, there’s really only one true plan: go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint and wait for all of it to blow over. But that might not work out in the Lego version of Shaun of the Dead. No, we’re not talking about an upcoming Lego Shaun of the Dead movie or video game (although how awesome would that be?), but rather an actual Lego Shaun of the Dead that was so close to being put into production…until it was deemed that the blood, language and beer might not be appropriate for their demographic.
Here’s how the bricks fell: In the early 2010s, Lego and Shaun of the Dead fan Yatkuu (real name Greg Coquelz) submitted his idea for a set based around pub The Winchester, a central location in the 2004 zom-com. This was part of the brand’s Lego Ideas (formerly Lego Cuusoo) initiative,...

Over the years, Tom Cruise has starred in many iconic films. Ranging from spy franchises to action in the air, and even romance films, he has truly tested the waters of the film industry to understand his specialties as an actor. However, early in his career, he did star in a genre that was quite rare for him; horror and fantasy. In 1994, the actor starred alongside Brad Pitt in the iconic film, Interview with the Vampire.

While the filming was quite tedious for Pitt and Cruise since they did not get along very well, the film became culturally significant in many ways. Despite its success, the film did not get a sequel or a follow-up. It would seem that this fact shocked everyone who was a part of the film.

Simon Pegg, the British actor and writer known for his collaborations with director Edgar Wright, has recently sparked excitement among fans by hinting at a potential new project with his long-time creative partner. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Pegg revealed that he and Wright are in the early stages of developing their fourth film together.
The duo, along with actor Nick Frost, gained international recognition with their “Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy,” consisting of “Shaun of the Dead” (2004), “Hot Fuzz” (2007), and “The World’s End” (2013). Each film in the trilogy featured a different flavored Cornetto ice cream, connecting the otherwise unrelated storylines.
Pegg emphasized that a new collaboration with Wright is a matter of “when, not if.” However, he acknowledged the challenge of aligning their busy schedules to dedicate the necessary time for writing. “The biggest challenge that we have right now is finding a moment to get together and spend six,...

The Mission Impossible franchise has been one of Hollywood’s most consistent and entertaining banners. With each film, Tom Cruise and his team push the boundaries of what they can achieve with the film’s action and the deadly stunts involved. The last film saw Cruise ride a bike off a cliff in real-time, making it a thrilling experience on screen.

If there's one thing you can be sure of on The Boys, it's that no one is safe. Even if there's no way for a character to die right now, there's always a chance they'll be horribly maimed or subjected to torture you'd never expect to see on television. Prime Video has no boundaries for the show, and that is more evident than ever in season 4.
The actors who are now joining the cast have already seen what The Boys is all about and come prepared for whatever happens. Those who came in blind in season 1, however, had their own ideas of where their characters could go, and not everyone was right. Simon Pegg, for example, didn't even expect Hugh Sr. to make it this far.

While there has been much debate about whether we need so many reboots and remakes of famous movies, the industry keeps coming up with more. They may cause backlash, but because they are easy to produce and even easier to promote, the format is still desirable in the eyes of major studio executives.
The original creators behind the famous stories may have their personal objections. But once the rights have been transferred to the studio, all they can do is voice their concerns, as Simon Pegg does.
Is There Going to Be Shaun of the Dead Part 2?
Of course, every single creator puts a piece of their own mind and soul into every story they write, and screenwriters are no exception. The most sincere efforts usually end up being the best movies, and many of them are based on unique personal experiences.

20 years after its initial release, “Shaun of the Dead” still stands out as one of the most creative films of the 21st century. Equally notable for its unique brand of horror comedy and launching the mainstream international careers of Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Pegg was asked about the chances of another “Shaun of the Dead” movie hitting the big screen while reflecting on the film’s legacy. He said that, while he and Wright have no interest in making the movie themselves, they wouldn’t technically be able to stop someone else from doing so. But that doesn’t mean they would be happy about it.
“I mean, Universal [Pictures] owns it. If they choose to reboot it, then they can if they want I guess,” Pegg said. “Although Edgar and I would be incensed.”

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers from Episode 6 of “The Boys” Season 4, currently streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video.
This week on “The Boys”: Homelander (Antony Starr), Sage (Susan Heyward) and VP-elect Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) rally some Federalist Society one-percenters to fall in line with their plan for total supe supremacist domination and to create internment camps for any detractors — and somehow that was not the craziest part of the episode.
First up, there was the giant reveal that Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character CIA agent Joe Kessler has been a hallucination of Butcher’s (Karl Urban) this whole time. You can read more about that here.
Second, Hughie (Jack Quaid) goes undercover as the supe Webweaver at the ultra elite alt-right party hosted by billionaire supe Tek Knight (Derek Wilson) to discuss Homelander’s plan — and ends up being Tek Knight and Ashley’s (Colby Minifie) plaything...
