Stars: Kit Harington, Scoot McNairy, Josh Lucas, Ethan Suplee, Nora Zehetner | Written by David Ebeltoft | Directed by Rod Blackhurst
Cliff (Scoot McNairy) is a struggling salesman, with employers closing doors on him like there’s no tomorrow. Through a chance encounter, he reconnects with old friend Ricky (Kit Harington), who now is a drugs runner across Montana. With Cliff in dire straits, the two agree to team up, prompting even more danger than they could ever have imagined.
Without even getting into its nuances — or at least, finer details — Blood For Dust can be best summed up as an inoffensive movie that we’ve definitely seen before. However, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Harking back to the black comedy vibe of Fargo, merely replacing the comedy element with the Midwestern gritty violence of Yellowstone, the movie well knows what it is. Most importantly, it knows where it is.

You can tell they shot Blood for Dust outside. People’s cold breath hangs in the wintry air, and it’s not the kind of wispy CGI breath that never seems to move quite right. Half-melted snow clings to the streets and straw-yellow Montana hills. The film’s title and poster would blend right into a direct-to-video lineup, but director Rod Blackhurst brings surprising texture and craft to bear on the otherwise familiar proceedings of this ’90s-set noir.
In a rare lead role, dependable and charismatic character actor Scoot McNairy plays Cliff, a traveling salesman whose tired eyes give away his success on the job. Maybe he was persuasive once, but he’s now tough to imagine peddling anything to anyone, much less the defibrillators that he crams into the back of his station wagon alongside the dummy he uses to demonstrate them. He even botches an attempt to blackmail...

The Alien Report: "The Alien Report follows "The Abductee" (Braxton Hale), an everyday American who finds himself hijacked by extraterrestrial beings and taken on a terrifying journey of self-preservation, running afoul of classic "grey aliens", disturbing human-et hybrids, and the U.S. government's shady Men in Black. Based on countless documented reports made by self-proclaimed abductees, The Alien Report is a meticulous, straight-faced look at what an real-life alien abduction would be like, from the perspective of first-person cameras.
The Alien Report has screened at festivals worldwide, winning awards in the U.S., UK, Australia, and Brazil. Shot on iPhone and GoPro cameras as a non-traditional narrative composed of re-assembled found footage, the picture plays out as both a sci-fi thriller and first-person documentary. It is the intended first chapter in a trilogy of films about extraterrestrial abductions.
The Alien Report was directed by Patrick Donnelly and produced by Kevin Schroeder and Michael Sell.

The film premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival last year, and it played at a number of other festivals including Deauville, San Diego, and Raindance. When it comes to horror movies- sometimes you have to bend the definition of the genre your own way to create something fun and familiar, yet refreshing and new at the same time. Adding contrasting elements to a scary story can often lead to a mess of clashing tones, but when it’s done correctly, and the balance is handled delicately and by professionals- you can get something brilliant… All of that to say- Today’s video is about Evolution (watch it Here).
So, if you’re not familiar with this movie- Evolution is the 2001 science fiction comedy directed by late but legendary Ghostbusters director, Ivan Reitman. The film follows Ira Kane and Harry Block- two scientists and college professors who are leading the industry in nothing, and kind of phoning it in. Premiering earlier this year at Berlinale, John Trengove’s The Wound follow-up Manodrome sets Jesse Eisenberg and Adrien Brody in a Fight Club-esque tale following a man wrestling with his own demons who gets welcomed into a mysterious family of men. Ahead of a November release from Lionsgate, the first trailer has now arrived.
Rory O’Connor said in his Berlinale review, “In Manodrome, cinema’s enduring love for frustrated male loners is brought, kicking and screaming, into the cold light of the present day. Set in an unnamed, crumbling city in the Northeast, it stars an against-type Jesse Eisenberg as a jacked-up, emotionally stunted gym bro who joins a cult of voluntarily and involuntarily celibate men. The director is John Trengrove, whose previous feature The Wound used a very real Xhosa rite of passage as a way to examine the ever-knotted rituals of male bonding. The subcultures in Manodrome...

"Take back your power, Ralph!!" Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for a film called Manodrome, an indie creation from South African filmmaker John Trengove (director of The Wound previously). This premiered at the Berlin Film Festival to mostly mixed to positive reviews - its a very slick film, although it doesn't particularly stand out much. Conflicted about his girlfriend's pregnancy, Ralphie's life spirals out of control when he meets a mysterious family of men. Manodrome is a clever criticism of toxic masculinity and fragile men who are obsessed with being men (you know the ones). Jesse Eisenberg stars as one of these guys who falls into this kind of cult for men, run by Adrien Brody. Then it gets really crazy... The cast also features Odessa Young, Philip Ettinger, Sallieu Sesay, Ethan Suplee, Evan Joningkeit, and Caleb Eberhardt. I saw this at Berlinale earlier in the year - it's a good film,...

It took more than eighteen years for writer/director Nick Cassavetes to manage to get an adaptation of the Boston Teran novel God Is a Bullet (pick up a copy Here) into production, but he stuck with the project, and his film received a wide theatrical release last month. A week ago, it was given a digital release as well – but now it has come to our attention that there are two different cuts of the movie out there. If you seek out the digital version in the United States, you’ll find that the cut available is the full 156 minute cut. But if you go to rent or purchase the digital release in Canada, you’ll find that the movie has been trimmed down to 120 minutes.
We don’t know exactly why the Canadian digital release is 36 minutes shorter than the U.S. digital release. On the Blu-ray.com forums,...

Will Friedle isn’t the type of person to answer his phone while at a lunch — especially at a work lunch. In fact, he may have better manners than anyone I’ve ever met. But this was an exception.
We’d been sitting for about 10 minutes — Friedle, Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong and me — gathered around a corner booth in a Studio City restaurant.
“Oh, my gosh, I’m sorry, I have to take this,” he says after pulling his iPhone out of his pocket. He quickly turns it around, showing the group the names that are scrolling across the screen: “Bill & Bonnie Daniels.”
It was just a check in from Mr. (and Mrs.) Feeny and no, it wasn’t a planned call. It was simply an example of how most (more on that later) of this cast is actually still close.

Plot: When vice detective Bob Hightower finds his ex-wife murdered and daughter kidnapped by a satanic cult – Bob sets out to find his daughter, by any means necessary.
Review: Any film that deals with the endangerment of children is going to be a tough watch. I don’t even have children and yet this film hit me hard in ways I wasn’t expecting. A satanic cult kidnapping a little girl to do awful things just turns my stomach even typing it out. And as such, there are going to be a lot of people that can’t handle God is a Bullet. And I can’t blame them. It’s tough subject matter that will leave you thinking about it for days after the credits roll. But that’s not to say that the film is without its flaws.

Writer/Director Nick Cassavetes channels the same grit of Alpha Dog for his latest, God Is a Bullet, adapted from Boston Teran‘s based-on-true-events best-selling novel. Only this time, the filmmaker doubles down on the bone-shattering violence… and the runtime. God Is a Bullet uses the sleazy criminal world, a talented pair of leads, and visceral violence to offset a straightforward narrative.
Bob Hightower (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) lives a simple life in an affluent suburban town. He’s a desk cop and a doting dad who still has a close relationship with his ex-wife. Adapted from the author’s 1999 debut novel, “God Is A Bullet” is the first screen translation of a work by one Boston Teran, a prolific but pseudononymous scribe of popular page-turners. Those tomes have been well-received by thriller fans, though others have speculated they might be a genre put-on penned by possibly more than one well-known literary figure. Nick Cassavetes’ slick adaptation certainly maintains the book’s mix of lurid incident and pontificating pretentiousness — albeit without the kind of intensity that might have made this far-fetched story credible, or the atmospheric style that might’ve pulled it off as a fevered nightmare à la David Lynch instead.
These 156 minutes, with cop Nicolaj Coster-Waldau and escaped captive Maika Monroe pursuing the cult of devil-worshipping scumbags who’ve kidnapped his daughter, are not exactly dull. But they are rather ludicrous, without being much fun. It’s hard not to imagine this overlong,...

Director Rod Blackhurst’s stark crime flick Blood for Dust is nothing new under the sun — or, more accurately, the frigid sun of Wyoming and Montana, where the story takes place. But with an array of burnished, lived-in performances from a strong cast and an underlying level of suspense punctuated by a few gnarly action scenes, it’s certainly a watchable little genre venture that could find an audience, especially on streaming.
Fargo (both the movie and the TV series) immediately comes to mind in this early 90s-set thriller that feels very much like a product of the early 90s, with lots of caustic dialogue and outbursts of gory violence against a backdrop of Western American desolation. Following a forlorn salesman, Cliff (Scoot McNairy), who gets roped into illegal drug trafficking by his badass former colleague, Ricky (Kit Harington), it heads to mostly familiar places, but manages to do so...

"Let's send Cyrus a message!" XYZ Films has revealed an official trailer for a gritty crime thriller titled God is a Bullet, the latest from actor / director Nick Cassavetes. It's set to open in theaters exclusively starting in June. When vice detective Bob finds his ex-wife murdered and daughter kidnapped by a satanic cult - he's frustrated by bumbling botched investigations. Bob quits the police force, gets tattoos, and infiltrates the cult to hunt down the charismatic cult leader, Cyrus, with the help of the cult's only female victim escapee, the brilliantly damaged, Case Hardin. Starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Maika Monroe, Jamie Foxx, January Jones, Ethan Suplee, Paul Johansson, and Jonathan Tucker. Cassavetes: "I've been trying to tell this great story for the last 18+ years. It's tough, violent, has two flawed and fantastic characters, and absolutely pulls no punches. I love it! There's nothing else out there like it, not even close!

In Manodrome, cinema’s enduring love for frustrated male loners is brought, kicking and screaming, into the cold light of the present day. The subcultures in Manodrome are ostensibly a work of fiction but, exaggerated as they may be, are no less plausible or rife with intrigue.
What Manodrome suffers from is a case of spreading itself too thin. Eisenberg stars as Ralphie, a taxi driver with money problems and a meds addiction. Though they might be the least of his worries. Out shopping for baby supplies with his...

Scientology is often a sore subject in Hollywood. While it has its famous poster boy in Tom Cruise, some people are violently opposed to the church because of its allegedly shady dealings.
Several celebrities have stood with the church through it all. Others have left and spoken about their times in it. However, one popular early 2000s TV series had somewhat of a Scientology convention with multiple Scientologists starring in it.
‘My Name is Earl’ was about redemption
My Name is Earl follows a small-time thief who makes a long list of all the wrongs he has done. He seeks out anyone he has ever hurt to make amends. Earl gets the idea of turning his life around after getting hit by a car while celebrating his lottery ticket win.
He loses the ticket after the accident, but once he makes good on his promise to be a better person,...

Adam Scott had a “horrifying” experience while filming Boy Meets World in 1995 – and finally addressed it with the actor involved.
The Severance star appeared in the teen series as Griff, making his debut in season two. Scott was present on set the day filming wrapped on the season, which turned into a day Scott has remembered negatively for almost 29 years.
Appearing on Pod Meets World, hosted by actors Rider Strong (Shawn), Danielle Fishel (Topanga) and Will Frieldle (Eric), Scott said: “I get to finally ask Rider about this thing – this has literally been tugging at me for 29 years.”
He explained: “It was the season finale of season two. There was a scene going on that was the last scene that would be shot for the season. I was on the side watching.

"Are you okay? You're sweating." Paramount has revealed two more "Naughty" and "Nice" trailers (which one are you?) for Damien Chazelle's Babylon, arriving in theaters later this week just before the holidays. Set in old Hollywood during the transition from silent films to talkies in the 1920s, Babylon traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood. The film's extraordinary cast features Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie and Diego Calva as the three co-leads, along with Jean Smart, Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, P.J. Byrne, Lukas Haas, Olivia Hamilton, Tobey Maguire, Max Minghella, Rory Scovel, Katherine Waterston, Flea, Jeff Garlin, Eric Roberts, Ethan Suplee, and Samara Weaving. The 3-hour long film has such an excess of debauchery, showing how crazy Hollywood was way back in the 1920s. Hence why they're focusing on this for the final marketing push. Maybe...
