Tricia Jo Hoffman
- Actress
Trica Jo Hoffman is an extremely active
actor/singer/dancer/volunteer/traveler/athlete/model/dare devil. She
was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. At the age of six, her
family of four quickly turned into a family of seven after a tragic
incident occurred. Although five siblings could be a bit crazy at
times, she would be a completely different person if it weren't for the
adoption and she wouldn't change it for the world. Tricia learned the
importance of dedication and perseverance early on through years of
intense gymnastics training and quickly became involved in every sport
and activity she possibly could. After years of voice lessons and dance
classes she decided to audition for her first musical where she booked
the lead role. She quickly immersed herself in her newfound passion of
musical theatre and was accepted into the New Orleans Center for
Creative Arts, which then led her to a college scholarship at the Hartt
School of Performing Arts. Two years later she transferred to the
American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, California where she
has been working in the film and print industry for the last seven
years. In the summer of August 29th, 2005, Hurricane Katrina paid New
Orleans a visit. After evacuating, she and her family were fixated on
the television screen when it was confirmed their house was submerged
in water containing gas, waste, human remains, amongst other things.
Not being allowed back into the city of New Orleans, she decided to
help others who needed it by going to LSU and helping people being
brought in from the devastated areas. Cries of loss, terror, anger, and
hope surrounded her. Her life was forever changed. She lost all of her
pictures, clothes, and many keepsakes, but was lucky enough to still
have her family, her friends, her health, and her faith. However, a
year later her parents decided to divorce which was extremely difficult
for her to cope with. When times are tough, Tricia focuses on helping
those in need to remind herself just how fortunate she really is. She
is actively involved with many charities and finds comfort in knowing
she is able to help the less fortunate. Tricia was finally seeing her
hard work pay off in the film and print industry and she was happy and
working diligently to improve her talents. She was traveling for work
and loved being adventurous and living every minute of her life to the
fullest. On June 4, 2011, she was involved in a life threatening jet
ski accident which caused her to stop working completely for almost a
year. Dealing with surgeries, bed rest, and continued complications
throughout the healing process, it was then that she had time to
realize the important things in her life and what she wanted most out
of it. Acting has always been her passion and this made her want to
fight even harder to prove herself even if it meant starting all over.
Almost a year after her accident she booked her very first audition
back. She would play the lead role in a heart wrenching story dealing
with child molestation and abandonment amongst other heavy issues.
Tricia completely immersed herself in the script taking her character
to extremely intense places both mentally and physically. It was
through this filming process that she decided nothing can stop her and
her passion for her craft.
