This week's penultimate season 2 episode of House of the Dragon, "The Red Sowing," finally gave Team Black the advantage in the Targaryen civil war, and if the teaser for next Sunday's finale is any indication, the Dance of the Dragons is going to be taken to another level of devastation as more fire-breathing beasts join the fray.
Spoilers follow.
After Seasmoke claimed Addam of Hull as his rider in the closing moments of last week's episode, Rhaenyra – with some convincing from Mysaria – decides to look for dragonriders among the lowborn, leading to an "army of bastards" arriving to Dragonstone in a perilous attempt to claim the second-largest dragon alive, Vermithor.
The notoriously volatile creature burns/devours most of the wannabes, but Hugh Hammer stands his ground and ultimately claims the dragon, with Ulf the White stumbling right into Silverwing's path and (luckily) managing to follow suit.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 7, “The Red Sowing.”] Rhaenyra has found her dragonriders. In true Game of Thrones fashion, House of the Dragon delivered its most exciting episode of the season one week before its finale, at last putting Rhaenyra’s (Emma D’Arcy) theory about dragonseeds to the ultimate test. She and Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno) were right that Targaryen bastards could be accepted by a dragon, but not all. Many lives were lost in the search for riders for Vermithor and Silverwing. But found, they were. Just like in George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, there are now three dragonriders: Addam of Hull (Clinton Liberty), Hugh (Kieran Bew), and Ulf (Tom Bennett). Addam was chosen by Seasmoke in Episode 6 and was recognized by his father, Corlys (Steve Toussaint), in Episode 7 for the first time because of it. Here, Liberty breaks down what this means for Addam and older brother...

(Warning: Spoilers for HotD ahead) This episode of House of the Dragon is packed with intense moments, jaw-dropping reveals, and some questionable decisions that made me question my sanity. Unexpected Kissing Scene The most shocking moment undoubtedly has to be the intense kissing session between Rhaenyra and Mysaria. According to Sonoya Mizuno, the scene was not originally written as a kiss. Instead, it felt so organic to go into the kiss when Rhaenyra comforted Mysaria. This added a surprising twist to their relationship. Dwindling Supply of Dragons Team Black and Team Green are facing a crisis with their dwindling supply...

This article contains spoilers for "House of the Dragon" season 2.
"House of the Dragon" season 2 has been firing on all cylinders. The high court drama and political scheming are thrilling and full of backstabbing and intrigue. The action has delivered on the promise of medieval nuclear war by bringing dragons into battle and unleashing absolute hell and obliteration upon the masses. Particularly compelling this season is the juxtaposition between Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) and Alicent (Olivia Cooke), both struggling with being women in a patriarchal world but from very different perspectives — with Alicent particularly getting a taste of her own medicine as she is now acting surprised over being ignored for being a woman despite backing a rebellion-turned-civil-war because she didn't support a female ruler of Westeros.
Their story is the core of the show, the most important relationship, and the cause of this entire war. The writers of the show understand this.

As this week's episode of House of the Dragon continued to move the various pieces into place as we head towards the season 2 finale, two characters allowed themselves a brief moment of happiness among the death and dragon-fire.
Spoilers follow.
Along with Seasmoke seeking out his own rider, Aemond making the most sinister sick bed visit in history, and Daemon still wondering whey he's hallucinating at Harrenhall (hint: it might have something to do with the drinks your new witch bestie makes for you every night before bed), we got a surprising moment of passion between Queen Rhaenyra and her new adviser, Lady Mysaria.
The scene begins with Mysaria revealing how she got the scar on her neck after suffering unspeakable abuse at the hands of her own father. Rhaenyra embraces her ally to offer some comfort, but the hug lingers and the two end up sharing a kiss before being interrupted by a guard.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 6, “Smallfolk.”] House of the Dragon delivered in spades what I always find myself craving in this franchise. Finally, some tenderness! Sex has always been part of the Game of Thrones universe, but swoon-worthy romantic moments? Not so much. Romance isn’t just a side plot to service fans. It’s a necessary tenet of storytelling that makes characters whole. Sure, there are stories where romance isn’t needed at all, but Game of Thrones is not one of them — not when the political movements of Westeros are so powerfully driven by the emotional state of those running the game. House of the Dragon is a more impactful story whenever it leans into this fact. Thanks to Season 2 Episode 6, we now have the best kiss of the franchise, delivered by the surprising pair that is Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and her advisor, Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno). This...

Hotd: The Kiss Between Rhaenyra and [Spoiler] Wasn’t Scripted, It Just Happened - Main Image
House of the Dragon fans had been shipping Rhaenyra and Mysaria all season, and their collective jaws dropped when the two actually shared a kiss near the end of last Sunday’s episode.
While it did feel like a natural arc for the characters this season, the moment was apparently unscripted, and it was something the actors just felt was right for the moment.
Why Did Rhaenyra and Mysaria Kiss?
The whole season has had men underestimating Rhaenyra in her council, and while Rhaenys has always been there to stand up for Rhaenyra, her death at Rook’s Rest has left the queen more vulnerable than ever. Despite this, Mysaria has always been supportive of the queen, even giving her advice on what she should do with her special insight and connections to the smallfolk.

‘House of the Dragon’ episode 6 just released. We’ve seen the war efforts advance on both sides with Rhaenyra’s best strategy so far being to get the smallfolk of King’s Landing on her side.
Undoubtedly, the biggest proponent of that strategy is Lady Mysaria, who at the moment seems to be Rhaenyra’s biggest confidante and ally. Surrounded by men who can’t think further than their strong, Rhaenyra has found an ally who knows the interest of the numerous but forgotten peasants in King’s Landing, and eventually, it will be that smallfolk who embrace Rhaenyra as true queen, no matter how short her reign will be.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 6, “Smallfolk.”] House of the Dragon fans probably didn’t see that Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno) kiss coming, but Mizuno certainly did. In the final moments of House of the Draogn’s July 21 episode, titled “Smallfolk,” Rhaenyra and Mysaria shared a passionate moment during one of their private meetings. After Mysaria opened up about her painful past, Rhaenyra ran over to Mysaria and hugged her. This closeness evolved into a heated kiss that was only interrupted because one of Rhaenyra’s Queensguards walked in. Mizuno spoke with TV Insider about this game-changing kiss, why this romance has been a possibility from day one, and how she thinks Daemon (Matt Smith) will react to this lip lock. Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) and her new closest confidant and righthand woman Mysaria a.k.a. The White Worm (Sonoya Mizuno) marked a turn in their relationship on this week’s episode of “House of the Dragon,” as the two shared a passionate kiss in the final moments of the installment.
The kiss, however, is interrupted, causing Rhaenyra to take off on dragonback almost immediately to go find out who’s been spotted riding a wild dragon around Westeros — and whether they’re aligned with her and the Blacks or Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and the Greens. So viewers are left with many questions about the intimate moment, and what it means for the rest of Season 2.

The rule of Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) as prince regent has begun, and things aren’t looking great for Westeros or its broken king, Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney). Aemond takes the lead at the Greens’ small council, and immediately makes some big moves by dismissing his mother Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) as the Dowager Queen. After being scolded by Alicent for being overly bold, he also calls upon his grandfather Otto Hightower to return as the hand to the king.
In one of the most dramatic scenes of the episode, Aemond and Aegon have their first meeting after Aemond severely burned his brother during the Battle of Rook’s Rest. Lying powerless in bed and unable to talk,...

This article contains spoilers for House of the Dragon season 2 episode 6.
Like most episodes of House of the Dragon this season, episode 6 has a lot going on. While it can be easy to get bogged down by the ever-revolving door of new and recurring characters, this installment at least keeps things moving fairly quickly, reminding us who these people are and why we should even care about them in the first place.
The Lannisters make another brief appearance being as prickish and entitled as always, insisting that Prince Regent Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) and Vhagar escort their forces to Harrenhal. Obviously this infuriates Aemond, who is relishing his newfound power and refuses to be treated like “a dog to be called to heel.” Thus, he reveals his plan to try and form an alliance with the Triarchy, the very same powers that gave Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint) and King Viserys I...

[This story contains spoilers from the sixth episode of House of the Dragon season two, “Smallfolk.”]
An unexpected romance. A new dragon rider. A roasted Darklyn. A riot in the streets. These were some of the key moments from the latest episode of HBO’s fantasy drama House of the Dragon, which has marched towards its final two episodes of the year.
Below, newcomer to the franchise and Emmy-winning Succession veteran Andrij Parekh looks back on directing the episode and answers some burning questions — including whether that seemingly all-knowing Harrenhal healer Alys Rivers (Gayle Rankin) is a ghost — and reveals a Succession-style touch he added to one particular scene.
***
You directed some great episodes of Succession — which, back in the day, was described as being “like Game of Thrones, but helicopters instead of dragons” — and now you’re actually on the dragon show. I’m sure its wildly different in many ways but, what has it been like going...

Halfway through “House of the Dragon” Season 2, we need to assess our surroundings. There have already been multiple major character deaths, an airborne dragon battle, attempted fratricide, twin-on-twin violence, and a character known only as “Cheese” kicked a dog.
At the midseason mark, two of IndieWire’s TV critics weigh in: Is the season worth the C+ bestowed upon it by Ben Travers? Will it live up to Proma Khosla’s dreams of “Fire & Blood?” With Ryan Condal now operating as sole showrunner, the series has a de facto creative leader at the helm, one whose commitment to the source material has his cast in awe.
There are still canon departures and literal flights of fancy (thanks to Matt Smith’s Daemon), as well as moments that harken back to “Game of Thrones” in its heyday.
Here’s what our critics had to say.

Sunday's episode of House of the Dragon was a somewhat subdued affair after the fiery events of last week's hour, but it did conclude with Rhaenyra Targaryen and her son Jace hatching (no pun) a plan to bring two powerful new dragons into the battle.
Silverwing and Vermithor - two of the oldest and largest dragons alive - have resided on Dragonstone for many years with no riders, but Jace believes Team Black can enlist people with traces of Valyrian blood to claim the fire-breathing beasts, thus giving them an advantage - or at least even the playing field - in the war against the Greens.
If you've been paying attention, you might have a pretty good idea of which minor characters (one only appeared in a single scene earlier this season) will become new dragonriders.
Spoilers follow.
If the show follows the book, it'll be Hugh Hammer, the blacksmith fretting about his poorly daughter,...

There is a new Terminator series coming to Netflix. However, this one is an anime unlike the live-action Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The series is called Terminator Zero, and it is going to hit Netflix on a very special date that will pay tribute to the original movies in the franchise.
Here is when Terminator Zero is coming to Netflix, and a look at the first trailer.
Terminator Zero Anime Release Date On Netflix
Terminator Zero is a new anime series coming to Netflix based on the Terminator franchise. The series takes place in two timelines: 2022 when the future war has raged for decades, and 1997 when Skynet gains self-awareness and begins its war.

"This isn't what you think it is. You can't see it yet." So says Sonoya Mizuno's time-traveling resistance fighter Eiko at the beginning of the first trailer for Ghost In The Shell studio Production Ig's new eight-part Netflix anime Terminator Zero. But whilst those words may be true for Malcolm Lee (André Holland), the scientist whose AI tech could be the key to taking down nefarious ne'er-do-wells Skynet, we can see the trailer for Mattson Tomlin's (The Batman II) standalone spin-off from James Cameron's blockbuster sci-fi franchise right now. Go ahead — check it out below;
Nuclear blasts! T-800 endoskeleton faces! Flayed skulls! Smoking guns! This teaser may only offer a glimpse at what Terminator Zero — which is set in post-T2: Judgment Day Japan, circa 1997 (and also 2022) — has in store for fans, but what a glimpse. Even after multiple reboots, The Terminator franchise still hasn't managed to recapture the magic of James Cameron's original movies in theaters. Now, that could finally change when it returns to television later this year with Netflix's animated Terminator Zero.
The first trailer has been released today (via SFFGazette.com) and it showcases Sonoya Mizuno's Eiko, a resistance fighter sent back in time to stop Skynet's attack on humanity. This series will tie into previous stories but also looks set to be a relatively standalone new entry.
The show looks better than expected and might just be the return to form for Terminator we know many of you have been waiting for.
Here's the official synopsis for Terminator Zero:
"2022: A future war has raged for decades between the few human survivors and an endless army of machines. 1997: The AI known as Skynet gained self-awareness and began its war against humanity.

“You can never go back,” warns Eiko (Sonoya Mizuno) in the trailer for the upcoming Netflix anime series Terminator Zero.
That’s a strange thing to hear from a character who literally went back in time. A human resistance soldier from 2022, Eiko has been sent to the year 1997. She’s there to stop a Terminator (voiced by Timothy Olyphant), itself sent to kill someone who might threaten the Machines in the future.
That sure sounds like Terminator Zero is moving back, all the way to the timeline of the first two (and easily best) Terminator movies. But Terminator Zero puts a twist on the proceedings by focusing not on any Connors or even Miles Dyson, the scientist who co-creates evil AI Skynet.
Rather, Terminator Zero features Malcolm Lee (voiced by Andre Holland), a scientist living in Japan. Lee is working on an AI that threatens to compete with Skynet. As the trailer shows,...

On August 29, 1997, Skynet AI began its war against humanity. And in the latest installment in the Terminator franchise, the upcoming Netflix anime series “Terminator Zero,” only one person might be able to stop the impending apocalypse.
Set in 2022, the eight-episode series will follow characters we have not yet met in the beloved franchise. According to a release, “Caught between the future and this past is a soldier sent back in time to change the fate of humanity. She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee who works to launch a new AI system designed to compete with Skynet’s impending attack on humanity. As Malcolm navigates the moral complexities of his creation, he’s hunted by an unrelenting assassin from the future, which forever alters the fate of his three children.”

“This isn’t what you think it is. You can’t see it yet. But you’ve been on a collision course your entire life. There is no going back. Not really. Judgment Day is almost here as the trailer for the Netflix animated series Terminator Zero arrives. Have a gander within.
It was only a matter of days ago that we learned that Netflix’s upcoming animated series, Terminator Zero, aims to recapture the dark, slasher movie vibes of 1984’s The Terminator. That, it turns out, was preparing the way for the show’s debut trailer, which you can find below these very words.
As we heard last week, Terminator Zero takes place after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and does what most of us did and pretends that all the films that came afterwards didn’t happen. Featuring a starry voice cast including Sonoya Mizuno (House Of The Dragon), Ann Dowd, Timothy Olyphant and Rosario Dawson, the show flips between an alternate reality 1997 and 2022, when Skynet is about to unleash its AI-driven apocalypse, dubbed Judgment Day (sic) on humanity.

A race to stop a dark artificial intelligence waging a bloody war on humanity is revealed in the first trailer for Terminator Zero, Netflix’s Terminator franchise reboot, that dropped on Monday.
The teaser set in Japan introduces as its narrator the animated character Eiko, a resistance fighter voiced by Sonoya Mizuno, who is sent back in time to protect Malcolm Lee (André Holland) as he develops Kokoro, or an advanced artificial intelligence as a rival to the malicious Skynet and its impending attack on humanity.
“There’s only one thing standing between you and him… Me!,” Mizuno, the House of Dragon star, exclaims as the figure of a young woman aiming a gun at a dystopian cyborg assassin from the future, and then firing, fills the screen.

After multiple attempts at kick-starting new trilogies of films have failed, the live-action Terminator film series is, understandably, taking a bit of a break… but the franchise is set to continue with an eight-episode anime series called Terminator Zero, which is coming our way from Japanese animation studio Production Ig and the Netflix streaming service. Terminator Zero is set to start streaming on August 29th – and today, a teaser trailer for the show has arrived online! You can check it out in the embed above.

The “Terminator” franchise isn’t what it used to be, sadly. After multiple attempts to do a soft reboot, the film series just hasn’t been able to come close to the incredible first two movies from James Cameron. Perhaps things can be different in animation.

Today, Netflix released the teaser trailer for Terminator Zero, which will premiere globally on the streaming service on “Judgment Day,” August 29, 2024.
The teaser trailer features the debut of Sonoya Mizuno (House of the Dragon) as the voice of Eiko, the resistance fighter sent back in time to stop Skynet’s impending attack on humanity.
The additional Terminator Zero voice cast includes Timothy Olyphant (Santa Clarita Diet) as Terminator, André Holland (Moonlight) as Malcolm Lee, Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka) as Koroko, and Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale) as The Prophet.
Created and executive produced by Mattson Tomlin and executive produced by Skydance Animation and Production Ig Studios, the eight-episode series will be part of the Terminator universe but will center around new characters.
2022: A future war has raged for decades between the few human survivors and an endless army of machines. 1997: The AI known as Skynet gained self-awareness and began its war against humanity.

The Netflix anime series “Terminator Zero” brings the franchise back to its horror roots on August 29, and the streaming service has debuted the official teaser trailer this morning.
The vibe here is far more in line with the original Terminator movie than the subsequent sequels, with “Terminator Zero” promising a return to those ruthless serial killer roots.
Watch the first official trailer for “Terminator Zero” below.
Ann Dowd (Hereditary), André Holland (“Castle Rock”) and Sonoya Mizuno (Civil War) have also joined the show’s voice cast, alongside Timothy Olyphant as the Terminator.
Rosario Dawson will voice Kokoro, “an advanced AI and Japan’s answer to Skynet.” Deadline notes, “If brought online, Kokoro will be endowed with the same power as Skynet.”
Deadline details, “Dowd will take over as The Prophet, the philosophical guide for the human resistance, a light shepherding survivors in the darkness of the unknown future ahead. Holland is Malcolm Lee,...

"Terminator Zero" was one of several animated shows that blew us away at Netflix's June 2024 animation presentation. Now, fans can have their first proper look at the anime series by way of a brand new trailer that reveals more than ever before about this Japan-set installment in the "Terminator" franchise.
The series focuses on Eiko, a resistance fighter from 2022 who's sent back to 1997 to protect scientist Malcolm Lee from a Terminator played by none other than Timothy Olyphant. Yes, the "Justified" star will be voicing the main Terminator in "Zero," but it seems this won't be anything like Arnold Schwarzenegger's hulking T-800. Instead, as showrunner/executive producer/writer Mattson Tomlin ("Project Power") told Empire Magazine, this cyborg will be more of a "Creepy Fish Man," which apparently means he's "not handsome," "a little cross-eyed," and "very spooky." All of which should excite fans of the franchise who might...

This post contains spoilers for the latest episode of "House of the Dragon."
"I don't think Westeros is particularly more anti-woman or more misogynistic than real life and what we call history," George R. R. Martin stated during a Comic-Con Panel in 2022 while explaining how "Game of Thrones" was loosely based on the War of the Roses. As fiction paves the path for mirrored social commentary and dramatic amplification of socio-political issues, misogyny and patriarchal abuse are deeply entrenched in both "Game of Thrones" and "House of the Dragon," where women have ended up getting the shorter end of the stick time and again. Episode 5 of the latest season of "House of the Dragon" drills this point home — both through repeated instances of capable women being shut down by all-male councils who secretly resent women in positions of power, and punishing women who upheld these patriarchal norms in the past...

War has come to Westeros and there's no going back. With peace talks having broken down for good following the secretive meeting between friends-turned-rivals Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) and Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and the escalating threat of violence finally breaking out into the open with the Battle of Rook's Rest, it should come as no surprise that both warring sides of this Targaryen civil war are now resorting to increasingly desperate measures to secure their respective paths to victory. For Team Green, the party currently in control of the Iron Throne, they've ignored Alicent's reservations and thrown in their lot with the rogue Prince Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), who "accidentally on purpose" caused his royal...

Sunday's fourth episode of House of the Dragon concluded with an intense "Dance of the Dragons" involving three of Westeros's fire-breathing beasts and their riders, and by the time the smoke had cleared, the devastating Battle of Rook's Rest had claimed the life of one major character and severely injured (at the very least) another.
Riding Vhagar, the oldest and largest dragon alive, Aemond Targaryen managed to take out Rhaenys Targaryen's dragon Meleys, sending beast and rider plummeting to a fiery death.
King Aegon and Sunfye were engaged in battle with Rhaenys and Meleys when Vhagar attacked, and Aemond's first blast took down his own brother. Collateral damage, or was Aemond seizing an opportunity to gain revenge on his older sibling for consistently taunting and making fun of him as a child?

“House of the Dragon” drew 8.1 million viewers across HBO and Max in the U.S. for its fiery fourth episode of Season 2 on Sunday, just besting the audience size for the premiere last month.
On June 16, “House of the Dragon” debuted its second season to 7.8 million viewers, putting the Season 2 premiere 22% below the 10 million viewers that the “Game of Thrones” prequel series launched to in 2022.
Per Warner Bros. Discovery, the premiere of “House of the Dragon” Season 2 is now approaching 25 million viewers, and catch-up viewing over the Fourth of July holiday led “House of the Dragon” Season 2 to its “strongest week yet” on Max between July 1-7.

Aemond Targaryen is really leaning into the whole kinslayer thing!
This week's fourth episode of House of the Dragon concluded with an aerial "Dance of the Dragons," and the devastating Battle of Rook's Rest claimed the life of one major character and severely injured (at the very least) another.
Riding Vhagar, the oldest and largest dragon alive, Aemond managed to take out Rhaenys Targaryen's dragon Meleys, sending beast and rider plummeting to a fiery death. King Aegon and Sunfye were engaged in battle with Rhaenys and Meleys when Vhagar attacked, and Aemond's first blast also hit his brother.
If the show follows George R.R. Martin's Fire and Blood, Aegon will survive (just about) with severe burns, but it certainly looked like Aemond was thinking about finishing the job back on the ground before Criston Cole interrupted.
During an interview with EW, actor Ewan Mitchell addressed his character's decision.

"There's no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin, and no war so bloody as a war between dragons."
Rhaenys Targaryen's words to her niece Queen Rhaenyra in the season 2 premiere of House of the Dragon proved to be tragically prophetic, as the courageous "Queen that Never Was" lost her life during episode 4's climactic Battle of Rook's Rest.
Lured into a trap by Aemond Targaryen and Criston Cole, Rhaenys and her dragon, Meleys, put up a hell of a fight, but Vhagar, the oldest and largest dragon alive, simply proved to be too powerful.
King Aegon and his dragon, Sunfye, were caught in the crossfire (or was it an intentional attempt by Aemond to claim his brother's throne?), and while Aegon did appear to survive (barely), Meleys suffered catastrophic injuries before plummeting to the ground in a fiery explosion.

The soon-to-release Netflix anime series Terminator Zero will channel the slasher horror tone of the original 1984 film according to its showrunner.
Next month sees the premiere of Terminator Zero, an eight-part Netflix anime that will add to the Terminator series in ways that has already gotten us rather excited with the snippets we’ve seen so far. However, showrunner Mattson Tomlin has popped up to pique our interest further by stating that the anime is suffused with the same “serial killer” vibes as the 1984 film which set the franchise into motion.
According to CNET, the series will take place directly after 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day and will ignore all of the films and shows that came afterwards, instead sending the franchise in a new direction. That reveal alone is enough to get us interested, but Tomlin’s quote (to Empire) that the series’ tone will channel the dark slasher...

In a bold move that promises to reinvigorate the Terminator franchise, Netflix is set to launch “Terminator Zero,” an eight-episode anime series that harkens back to the terrifying roots of James Cameron’s 1984 classic. Showrunner Mattson Tomlin, speaking at the 2024 Anime Expo in Los Angeles, revealed that the series will embrace the “serial killer” robot horror that made the original film so groundbreaking.
Set to premiere on August 29, 2024 – exactly 40 years after the release of the first Terminator film – this new installment aims to capture the essence of what made the franchise initially captivating. “We’re tapping into the relentless, ruthless killing machine aspect,” Tomlin explained, distinguishing the series from the action-heavy spectacles that dominated later entries in the franchise.
The story takes place immediately following the events of “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” but with a fresh twist. In what Tomlin describes as a “gender-flipped reimagining” of the original concept, a...

Although the Terminator franchise is diving into uncharted territory after 40 years, an upcoming anime series also marks a return to form.
Terminator Zero showrunner Mattson Tomlin revealed that his upcoming eight-part Netflix series will channel the “serial killer” vibes of the original 1984 movie as he appeared Friday at the 2024 Anime Expo in Los Angeles.
The show serves as somewhat of a soft reboot of the franchise, taking place directly after Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), ignoring the films and television show that came after, according to CNET.
Tomlin explained that this version of the Terminator is more of a relentless killing machine like he was when Arnold Schwarzenegger first originated the role, pulling the genre back into its horror origins and away from the action-heavy sequels.
“Can I do one spoiler?” moderator Jacki Jing asked during the interview. “Ok: robot cat.”
