When the Emmy nominations were announced last week, heads turned when Sam Levinson and The Weeknd’s The Idol scooped up a nomination. And Nina McNeely, who earned the nod for choreography, feels like the axed HBO show deserved more Emmy love.
“Definitely cinematography,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I thought Lily [Rose Depp]’s acting was absolutely incredible. Even the makeup was fantastic on The Idol. I would definitely say directing for Sam. He is really incredible to work with, and even watching him work with the other actors, he trusts them so much and really asks their opinion, and you never know how creatively involved people are on projects like films or television. And that was really cool to see — how collaborative of a director he is.”

Jamie Lee Curtis was born for the Hollywood life, given that she was the daughter of actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. But being from a high-profile family also presents its own set of challenges. Something that even Lee Curtis was not immune to. Despite having the versatility to be an actor, she was constantly labeled a nepotism baby. But even this status couldn’t stop the actress from getting fired from the ABC show Operation Petticoat.

The latest film from The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman writer/director Robert Eggers‘ is a remake of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic Nosferatu (watch it Here), and Focus Features will be giving the film “a prime holiday season release” when they bring it to theatres on Wednesday, December 25th. Anticipation levels are high for this one, so we have decided to put together a list of Everything We Know about this version of Nosferatu:
Plot
Nosferatu tells a familiar story. An unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, the original Nosferatu has the following synopsis: In this highly influential silent horror film, the mysterious Count Orlok (Max Schreck) summons Thomas Hutter (Gustav von Wangenheim) to his remote Transylvanian castle in the mountains. The eerie Orlok seeks to buy a house near Hutter and his wife, Ellen (Greta Schroeder). After Orlok reveals his vampire nature, Hutter struggles to escape the castle,...

In Moses Sumney’s first film acting role, he dies onscreen. That’s not so much a spoiler as it is an inevitability; the movie is MaXXXine, the final installment of Ti West’s beloved Mia Goth-starring horror trilogy from which nobody makes it out alive.
Sumney plays Leon, a Hollywood Boulevard video store employee and the closest thing to a best friend that Goth’s Maxine Minx has ever experienced. The story, which follows Minx as she attempts to catapult her porn career into Hollywood stardom, plays out as The Night Stalker — a real-life serial killer from the 1980s — terrorizes Los Angeles and seemingly starts to hunt down Maxine’s own circle. It’s a dream role for any actor building up their career, but Sumney — who self-deprecatingly describes himself as “very indecisive,” but in actuality seems to lean more contemplative and careful — admits he hesitated at first...

He is coming.
That’s the ominous refrain throughout the first trailer for “Nosferatu,” writer-director Robert Eggers’ forthcoming take on the classic vampire tale.
And he has not arrived yet – the teaser builds anticipation by not revealing the monster, Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård). Instead, characters talk about him and show how his malign power still influences them from a distance. It’s an eerie trailer that showcases Eggers’ gift for creating a terrifying atmosphere.
Focus Features describes the film as “a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.”
“Nosferatu” is a retelling of F.W. Murnau’s legendary 1922 silent film of the same name, which is itself a German Expressionist take on “Dracula.” It is the second remake of “Nosferatu,” after Werner Herzog’s 1979 film “Nosferatu the Vampyre.”

A couple years ago, the term “nepo baby” took the internet by storm, with many latching onto the buzzword as a way to bash celebrities who have apparently benefited from their famous parents. Not surprisingly, it didn’t take long for things to turn ugly, with Jamie Lee Curtis – daughter of Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis – calling for peace. This lasted about as long as it took to read her quote. The nepo baby debate is still a hot one, but now Emma Roberts – daughter of Eric and niece to Julia – has a take that might open some more eyes…or piss more people off.
Appearing on Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi (via THR), Emma Roberts said that most nepo baby attacks are geared towards women in the industry despite there also being prominent males who could fall under the label. “I always joke I’m like, ‘Why is...

Emma Roberts is adding more nuance to the nepo baby debate.
The actress, whose father is prolific star Eric Roberts and whose aunt is the iconic Julia Roberts, called out how the nepo-baby label is really only applied to young women.
As proof, Roberts pointed to her Aunt Julia’s longtime collaborator George Clooney as an older, male example of a nepo baby — despite no one calling Clooney that.
“I always joke, ‘Why is no one calling out George Clooney for being a nepo baby? [His aunt] Rosemary Clooney was an icon,'” Roberts said during the “Table for Two” iHeartPodcast. “I feel like young girls get it harder with the nepo baby thing. Like, I don’t really see people calling out sons of famous actors, not that they should be called out.”
The “American Horror Story” star admitted that there are both perks and drawbacks to being born into a famous family.

The release of the first trailer for Robert Eggers’ highly anticipated remake of “Nosferatu” has sent waves of excitement through the horror film community, with many drawing comparisons to Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 gothic masterpiece, “Bram Stoker’s Dracula.”
Eggers’ adaptation of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic promises a fresh take on the vampire mythos while maintaining the essence of the original story. The star-studded cast includes Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok, Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter (a Mina Harker equivalent), and Nicholas Hoult as Thomas Hutter (standing in for Jonathan Harker). The ensemble is rounded out by Emma Corrin, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Willem Dafoe, Simon McBurney, and Ralph Ineson.
The teaser trailer, while not fully revealing Skarsgård’s vampire, has already garnered overwhelmingly positive reactions. Critics and fans alike praise the film’s atmospheric visuals, unsettling imagery, and promise of genuine scares – elements that harken back to Coppola’s lauded adaptation.

Now, he’s set on his next adventure, a classic vampire film about the ravenous Count Orlock, Nosferatu. While the movie was originally released in 2015, after the release of The Witch, it didn’t work well over the years. But this time, it’s going to be spooky and scary as ever.
Here’s everything you need to know about Nosferatu.
Nosferatu Release Date
Nosferatu will arrive in theaters on December 25 this year and promises to deliver old-school gothic horror. The production took place last year in the Czech Republic.

Witness Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter, the object of Orlok’s eerie fascination. Released on June 24, 2024, the first Nosferatu teaser trailer delivers a cinematic chill. Despite not showing the full transformation of Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok, his unnerving essence pierces through. The trailer teases Robert Eggers’ reimagining of the 1922 classic, promising a nightmarish experience. Attendees at CinemaCon in Las Vegas got an early glimpse of Lily-Rose Depp (HBO’s The Idol) in the role of Ellen Hutter, caught in Orlok’s sinister web. Set against backdrops of Transylvania and Germany, the story follows estate agent Thomas Hutter (The Menu’s...

Focus Features has released this first teaser for the highly anticipated Nosferatu.
Starring Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe, Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.
The German silent horror film released in 1922 was notable for being the earliest surviving film adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula and for its technically novel and effective cinematography. Directed by German Expressionist filmmaker F.W. Murnau from a screenplay by Henrik Galeen, Nosferatu is known for its haunting vampire imagery, made possible in part by the state-of-the-art film tricks of cinematographers Fritz Arno Wagner and Günther Krampf, and for an eerie performance...

The teaser for Robert Eggers’ new film, ‘Nosferatu,’ dropped today, and the featured cast is stacked with an impressive list of talent. Eggers, who first hit the scene with the sinister 2015 film ‘The VVitch,’ has made a name for himself as a director who uses period-specific style to transport audiences to unfamiliar territories, from a desolate lighthouse in Nova Scotia to the brutal countryside of 10th century Iceland. But its the grounded performances from his talented casts that truly make Eggers’ films so memorable. If you’ve checked out the ‘Nosferatu’ teaser and the cast seemed familiar, IMDb is here to help you remember where you’ve seen these talented actors before.
Lily-Rose Depp
Lily-Rose Depp was most recently seen on Max’s short-lived drama series “The Idol,” where she played a pop star struggling back into the limelight with the help of a notorious nightclub owner. The actress stars in ‘Nosferatu’ as Ellen Hutter, the innocent object of the vampire’s desire.
Nicholas Hoult
‘Nosferatu’ isn’t the first time Nicholas Hoult has explored the realms of the undead. The talented British actor was the title role in the 2023 horror-comedy ‘Renfield,’ starred as a mute-but-caring zombie in ‘Warm Bodies,’ and played a key role as the half-life war boy Nux in ‘Mad Max: Fury Road.’ Now, he’ll step into the role of Thomas Hutter, husband to the afflicted Ellen Hutter played by Lily-Rose Depp.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Friedrich Harding is a ship merchant, which is likely a reinvention of the character played by Georg H. Schnell in the 1922 silent film version of ‘Nosferatu.’ If the actor seems familiar, it may be from his performance as Brian Tyree Henry’s twin brother Tangerine in last year’s action flick ‘Bullet Train,’ his supporting role as Pietro Maximoff in multiple Marvel movies, or his recent turn as a self-absorbed film star in ‘The Fall Guy.’
Willem Dafoe
Willem Dafoe is no stranger to playing vampires. The Academy Award-nominated actor starred in 2000’s ‘Shadow of the Vampire’ where he portrayed Max Schreck, the actor who played Nosferatu in the original silent film. You probably recognize Dafoe from some of his most famous 100+ acting credits, including last year’s ‘Poor Things’ and his two previous collaborations with Robert Eggers, ‘The Lighthouse’ and ‘The Northman.’
Ralph Ineson
The unmistakable deep voice of Ralph Ineson can be heard warning us that “he is coming.” The BAFTA Award nominee starred as Anya Taylor-Joy’s father in Robert Eggers’ first film, ‘The VVitch’ and lent his talents to the title role in A24’s ‘The Green Knight.’ You may have seen him this year as a priest on a mission in ‘The First Omen.’ In ‘Nosferatu,’ the actor will play Dr. Wilhelm Sievers, a role we can only assume will have to deal with the aftermath of the vampire’s attacks.
Bill Skarsgård
Although he is only shown as a silhouette in the trailer, Bill Skarsgård is set to star as the vampire Count Orlok, whose hunger for Ellen Hutter drives the story. Skarsgård has a history with the horror genre, playing Pennywise the clown in the two-part remake of ‘It’ and delivering a memorably unsettling performance in the indie hit ‘Barbarian.’ The Swedish actor’s horror bona fides continue to expand this year, as he takes on the role of Eric Draven in the remake of ‘The Crow.’
Emma Corrin
Also starring in ‘Nosferatu’ is Emma Corrin, known for her roles in Netflix’s “The Crown” as Princess Diana, as Darby Hart in “A Murder at the End of the World,” and in just a few weeks she’ll hit the big screen alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ In ‘Nosferatu,’ she’ll play Anna Harding, wife to Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Friedrich Harding and likely friend to Lily-Rose Depp’s Ellen Hutter.

"Who is coming, my child?"
The trailer for Robert Eggers' Nosferatu leaked online last week after debuting in theaters ahead of The Bikeriders, and Focus Features has now officially released the unsettling first footage from The Northman director's highly-anticipated horror remake.
The teaser begins with Lily-Rose Depp's Ellen Sutter praying by candlelight. “Come to me, come to me, hear my call,” she intones before a hand reaches out to grab her neck. Ellen then asks Willem Dafoe's character, Van Helsing substitute Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz, whether evil "comes from within us, or beyond."
From there, there are moody shots of the Count's castle, rats scurrying across cobblestones, frightened villagers with wooden stakes at the ready, Ellen with blood pouring from her eyes and mouth (likely a dream sequence), along with Thomas Sutter (Nicholas Hoult) and Friedrich Harding (Aaron Taylor Johnson) looking suitably terrified.

Buckle up: Robert Eggers is back on his horror game. The filmmaker began his big-screen career with The Witch, delivering nightmarish images and a thrum of all-out dread. And while his other features, The Lighthouse and The Northman, boasted considerable horror inflections, his latest work sends him back into the deepest darkness – a new take on legendary vampire pic Nosferatu, looking set to deliver all-out gothic horror on a grand scale. This one stars the ever-shapeshifting Bill Skarsgard as the creature, with Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hunter, and Nicholas Hoult as her husband Thomas. Take a look at the nerve-shredding trailer here:
Phew! Eggers is really back in business with this one, working on an impressive scale while conjuring an intimate sense of fear. The icy-blue night scenes deliver a deathly chill; the Victorian setting looks lavishly realised; and there are ominous candle-lit tableaus that hark back to the eerie compositions of The Witch.

Robert Eggers’ first Nosferatu trailer shows the Witch and The Lighthouse filmmaker’s dark and intense new take on Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
The horror film stars Bill Skarsgard as Count Orlok (aka Nosferatu/Dracula), along with Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Willem Dafoe.
The official description from Focus Features: “Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.”
While the teaser trailer doesn’t yet reveal Nosferatu’s face, Skarsgard, who previously played Pennywise the Clown in the It films, reportedly worked with an opera singer to lower his voice for the role. “It was like conjuring pure evil,” he told Esquire. “It took a while for me to shake off the demon that had been conjured inside of me.”

The first teaser trailer for Robert Eggers’ upcoming remake of Nosferatu has unveiled, starring Bill Skarsgård as the film’s iconic vampire.
Nosferatu is finally set to premiere later this year on December 25th, after having been in development for nearly a decade. Along with Skarsgård’s portrayal of Count Orlok, Lily-Rose Depp plays Ellen Hutter, the “haunted young woman” who is the fixation of the vampire’s obsession. Nicholas Hoult, Emma Corrin, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Willem Dafoe round out the film’s cast
Eggers’ previous films include celebrated titles like 2015’s The Witch and 2022’s The Northman, but Nosferatu has been described by many as his “passion project.” In the teaser trailer below, Eggers pumps up the gothic volume, showcasing Dafoe’s vampire-hunting professor as well as a muted color palette and eerie vibes — very much a back-to-basics approach to the classic tale, with an emphasis on old-fashioned scares.

Murnau’s 1922 silent classic Nosferatu (watch it Here) is set to reach theatres on Wednesday, December 25th – and after playing in theatres over the weekend, where it was attached to The Bikeriders (you can read our 9/10 review at This Link), the teaser trailer for Eggers’ Nosferatu has now made its way online! The first teaser for Robert Eggers’ long-gestating vampire film has appeared online. Take a look at the Nosferatu trailer.
Robert Eggers has been working long and hard on his adaptation of Nosferatu, but we’ve finally got a first look at his suitably dark upcoming horror film. In fact, lucky audiences who headed to the cinema over the weekend to watch The Bikeriders would have seen the trailer play before the main feature, but it’s only today that the trailer made its way online.
Take a look at the brand new Nosferatu trailer:
Eggers has been planning the film since 2015, after he released his debut feature The Witch (or The VVitch), but ended up making The Lighthouse and The Northman first. The film is a new adaptation of Fw Murnau’s iconic 1922 film of the same name. Werner Herzog previously directed another adaptation of the film.

"Who is coming to you, my child?" Focus Features has debuted the first official trailer for Robert Eggers' new take on Nosferatu, the Dracula story, after playing the trailer exclusively in theaters only this weekend (showing in front of The Bikeriders). The best Christmas present of the year, after his biggest project yet with The Northman, Robert Eggers jumped quickly into his long-developing passion project: a new take on F. W. Murnau’s 1922 German Expressionist masterpiece Nosferatu, itself inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula. With a cast featuring Lily-Rose Depp, Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Willem Dafoe, Simon McBurney, and Ralph Ineson, the first trailer dropped in theaters with The Bikeriders this past weekend and has now arrived online.
Here’s the brief official synopsis: “Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.”
“Yeah, it’s a scary film. It’s a horror movie. It’s a Gothic horror movie,” said the Witch director. “And I do think that there hasn’t been an old-school Gothic movie that’s actually scary in a while.

A family of Puritans banished by their colony encounters a dark supernatural entity in the woods. A young Viking prince sets out on a quest for revenge after being ousted during a coup staged by his uncle. Two horny weirdos are stuck living as roommates while tending a remote lighthouse. Time and time again, the characters in Robert Eggers' horror films are manipulated by exterior forces, only to discover that they themselves ultimately hold the key to either their downfall or salvation. Those themes of control and agency look to rear their head once more in "Nosferatu," the writer/director's remake of F.W. Murnau's silent 1922 vampire horror classic "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror" (itself an unauthorized "Dracula" movie) and the second such retelling after Werner Herzog's 1979 "Nosferatu the Vampyre."

From Pennywise the clown to one of the most famous vampires of all time, Bill Skarsgård is transforming into Nosferatu in Robert Eggers’ upcoming reimagining of the iconic 1922 German Expressionist silent film. But horror fans will have to keep waiting to see Skarsgård’s full appearance as Count Orlok, as the movie first’s trailer from Focus Features continues to keep the vampire’s complete look a mystery. Skarsgård is barely seen in the clip outside of a few quick shots, but his character’s haunting presence looms large.

"He is coming..."
We had a feeling this might happen after learning that the first trailer for Robert Eggers' highly-anticipated remake of horror classic Nosferatu was set to play in front of The Bikeriders this weekend, and sure enough, the teaser has leaked online.
We're sure some of you would rather wait and see it on the big screen, but if you're interested in a cam-quality version, have at it.
The trailer appears to be quite similar to the footage that debuted during CinemaCon back in April, but with a few additional shots.
We see Lily-Rose Depp's Ellen Sutter praying by candlelight. “Come to me, come to me, hear my call,” she intones before a hand reaches out to grab her neck. Ellen then asks Willem Dafoe's character, Van Helsing substitute Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz, whether evil "comes from within us, or beyond."

The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman writer/director Robert Eggers‘ remake of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic Nosferatu (watch it Here) is set to reach theatres on Wednesday, December 25th – and if you’re anxious to see the trailer, you’ll have the chance to see it this weekend, but only if you head out to see The Bikeriders (which is recommended anyway; you can read our 9/10 review at This Link). The Nosferatu trailer is showing exclusively in theatres this weekend, attached to The Bikeriders.
