- TriviaThe movie was filmed at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in New Jersey. The camp is still in operation, and it has a wall of Friday the 13th (1980) memorabilia to honor that the movie was set there.
- Goofs(at around 40 mins) When Brenda rolls the dice to start the strip Monopoly game, she says she rolls double sixes and gets to roll again, but you can clearly see the 1 and 2 she actually rolled. The same for the guy, who clearly rolled a 10, though it's said that he rolled an 8.
- Crazy creditsWe see giant letters proclaiming 'Friday the 13th' moving toward the screen, and crashing into and smashing a pane of glass.
- Alternate versionsAs of the 11/09/2003, the BBFC passed "Friday the 13th" completely uncut, and Warner Bros. has restored the original gory version for release on Region-2 DVD with a total of 34 seconds of footage restored. Much of the extra running time comprises different opening logos and about 11 seconds of gore has been restored to the death scenes of Annie, Marcie, Jack, and Pamela Voorhees.

An Original Low Budget Cult Movie, With Unknown Actors and Actresses and Lots of Great Special Effects
In a full moon night of a Friday, 13th, the instructors of Camp Crystal Lake are murdered, one by one, in a night of terror. In the end of the story, a convincing explanation clarifies what have happened. This cult movie was very original and spooky in 1980. Placed basically in one location and with unknown young actors and actresses, it was indeed a successful low budget movie, copied many times in other films. Today I have just watched it again, now on a recently released DVD, and it is still good to see. I regret the sequels, since the story is very well resolved in a credible way without supernatural. This way, it is much more terrifying and could have stopped right here. My vote is seven.
