The Primevals was a film I thought I’d never get to see. Tracing its roots back to a short filmed in the 1960s, Raiders of the Stone Ring, and through the late 70s and early 80s it constantly seemed to be in some form of preproduction, either by the project’s driving force, stop-motion artist David Allen, or via one of producer Charles Band’s companies. It got frequent mentions in Famous Monsters of Filmland and even a cover story in Cinefantastique. But apart from some footage shot around 1978, nothing came of it until 1994 when the film’s live-action footage was shot in Band’s Romanian studios and the Dolomite Mountains in Italy.
Then, as he was working on the film’s extensive stop-motion effects, Allen died of cancer,...

Erich Anderson, who was sometimes also credited as E. Erich Anderson, racked up over 100 credits during a screen acting career that stretched from 1983 into the 2020s, but he may be best known for playing the role of Rob in the 1984 slasher classic Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. A character out for revenge, Rob looked like he had a shot at being able to take down hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees for good… but when Rob finally caught up with Jason, things did not go well for him at all. Among Friday the 13th fans, Rob has become a favorite due to the fact that he seems so cool and capable at first, but then whiffs his shot at vengeance in a major way. Sadly, the actor who brought Rob to the screen is no longer with us. Erich Anderson’s wife Saxon Trainor has confirmed through social media that he...

Feeny! Feeny! Fee-hee-hee-hee-ny! William Daniels, who played one of the most beloved teachers in all of media, shared a new photo with some of his old Boy Meets World students, calling them some of his favorites.
In his Instagram post – and how amazing is it that William Daniels is active on social media at the age of 97? – the actor shared a pic in which he, Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence), Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter) and Will Friedle (Eric Matthews) reunited, along with the caption, “Just a little reunion with my favorite students!!” He also had a photo with just Fishel, showing an even more special bond between the two. Notably absent, of course, was Ben Savage (Cory Matthews), who has distanced himself from Boy Meets World, showing a disinterest in reunions or media appearances.

Hollywood actors often have their careers reduced to one major role. Having said that, isn’t it compelling how an iconic character like Batman can bring an actor everlasting fame, but also conceal the breadth of their versatility? Val Kilmer, known widely for donning the dark mask of the Caped Crusader, embodies this paradox with remarkable grace.
Prior to making his breakthrough in the 1980s with roles in comedies such as Real Genius and Top Secret, Val Kilmer began his acting career on stage. The acclaimed sequel to Top Gun, in which he reprised the role of Iceman, has brought him back into the spotlight.
Val Kilmer as Batman in Batman Forever | Warner Bros Pictures
Despite his early breakthrough, Kilmer charted a different course, circling the universe of TV—save for a voice role as Kitt in the Knight Rider reboot and brief stints on shows like Ghost Girls and The Spoils of Babylon.

Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is exactly the kind of nonsense Star Wars and, honestly, Disney+ needs right now! I don’t need to see any more Filoni fan fiction or showrunner therapy sessions in a Galaxy Far, Far Away. Please give me some silly stuff!
Today, the Star Wars YouTube channel uploaded a teaser trailer for the upcoming “four-piece” Disney+ series, which promises, “History will be rebuilt.” Who’s ready to go on this ride with Stranger Things‘ Gaten Matarazzo?
“In Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, the entire Star Wars galaxy gets completely mixed up when an ordinary nerf-herder, Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo), unearths a powerful artifact called the Cornerstone from a hidden Jedi temple. He finds himself thrust into adventure in a new, wondrously wild and twisted version of the galaxy where good guys are bad, bad guys are good, and the fate of all depends...

I love Star Trek. It’s one of the most unique fandoms since it features multiple different properties in the same universe. Don’t get me wrong, I love Star Wars, but something about Star Trek that raises it to another level. There are so many shows that are unique in their own way. You have Star Trek T.O.S, Star Trek The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, Enterprise, Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Star Trek: Prodigy, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Star Trek: Picard.
The point is that there is something for everyone. Fans are a little bit less toxic than other fandoms. My theory is that because there are so many shows there is at least one show that everyone can agree is good. So if someone were to, let’s say, hate Prodigy,...

Catch another look at next month’s The Fall Guy, which has everything apart from Ryan Gosling singing. Here’s the new trailer:
Following his performance of I’m Just Ken at this month’s Oscars, Ryan Gosling is set to play another take on the ‘I’m just an overlooked dude’ character, this time as the amazingly-named Colt Seavers in The Fall Guy.
A new trailer has having landed for the action romance, out next month. And along with a Gosling voiceover – and a one-liner that raised our anticipation threefold – it looks like we’ll be seeing him do lots of stunt work as he portrays TV’s most famous fictional stuntman. It’s a big screen reimagining of the 1980s television show that starred The Six Million Dollar Man himself, Lee Majors.

Could Kitt ride again? Scooper Daniel Richtman took to his Patreon to claim that not only is Universal Pictures developing a Knight Rider movie, but that John Cena is already attached to star.
Richtman added that Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows (The Package) are writing the script. Of course, nothing has been confirmed at this time, but it’s somewhat surprising that Knight Rider hasn’t received a modern big-screen update like so many of its ’80s brethren. We’ve seen The A-Team, 21 Jump Street, The Equalizer, Miami Vice, and more all make the leap to the big screen, so why not Knight Rider? The classic series starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, a former detective given a new identity by a tech billionaire to help fight crime. Aiding him in that pursuit was Kitt, an artificially intelligent and nearly indestructible car.

One of the curious things about "The Twilight Zone's" enduring popularity is that Rod Serling's classic anthology series has been rebooted three separate times, and even spun off into movies, and yet the original series is still considered the gold standard. You'll hear "Star Trek" fans sing the praises of "The Original Series," sure, but you'll also find lots of them who think the franchise peaked with "The Next Generation," "Deep Space Nine," or "Enterprise." But the reboots of the "Twilight Zone" aren't nearly as well remembered or celebrated as the original series, no matter how many great filmmakers or actors appeared in them.
Take the first TV reboot, for example. That version of "The Twilight Zone" aired for three seasons between 1985 and 1989 — peak, influential pop culture years — and featured episodes directed by cinematic luminaries like Wes Craven, Joe Dante, John Milius, Curtis Harrington, Bill Duke, Martha Coolidge,...

You might not know the name Peter Cullen, but I guarantee you know his voice. He's Eeyore in the "Winnie the Pooh" franchise, Monterey Jack in "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers," the first voice of Karr in "Knight Rider," the vocalizations of the titular "Predator," and since he voiced Mario in the Donkey Kong segments of "Saturday Supercade," he's actually the first person to ever give Mario a voice in the English-speaking world. All of these roles border on iconic, but Cullen became a living legend by providing the voice of Optimus Prime in the "Transformers" franchise.

In recent years, in addition to a variety of playsets for children, Playmobil has delivered a handful of collectible vehicle playsets reaching back to the classic nostalgia of the 1980s. From the "Back to the Future" DeLorean time machine to the sentient car K.I.T.T. from "Knight Rider" and the trademark van of "The A-Team," Playmobil has released impressive pop culture vehicle playsets featuring their patented figures, and yet another beloved piece of TV history is now available.
"Magnum P.I." debuted on television at the end of 1980, bringing Tom Selleck and his glorious mustache to the small screen as Thomas Magnum, a private investigator (or rather a P.I.) living in Oahu, Hawaii and solving various mysteries. Magnum could frequently be seen sporting Hawaiian shirts, a baseball cap, and some sunglasses. But most importantly, he was always cruising around in his signature red Ferrari 308 Gts Quattrovalvole.

Growing up in the 80s it was a special time for kids who loved cars. Series like Magnum Pi, Knight Rider, and The A-Team all had an iconic vehicle that was a centerpiece of the series and epitomized the spirit of the show. But perhaps none was as iconic and memorable as the car at the heart of this episode, The General Lee.
The orange painted muscle car was the chariot of Bo and Luke, the two modern day Robin Hoods Aka The Duke Boys. In this episode of Gone But Not Forgotten we’re going climb through the window and get behind the wheel of The General as we revisit The Dukes of Hazzard.

Some of these films were more memorable and on point for life and fears of the American teenager from living in the valley in Valley Girl, survival like Red Dawn and The Zero Boys, and a whole lot more; the mid-1980s were filled with teen cinema, and some of it was definitely on the dark side. Ready to take a slow-motion run on the beach? Because “Baywatch” is coming back, TheWrap can confirm. Freemantle is developing a reboot of the memorable syndicated series and are out to several streamers and linear broadcasters. There are no creatives currently attached.

Part of what makes TV so immersive is learning about the interests, possessions, and habits of our favorite characters. When we watch a television series for a long time, we start to notice objects that mean a lot to our main characters, such as the vehicles they drive. Whether it be a run-down old truck or a spaceship from a galaxy far, far away, the method of transportation used by protagonists remains at the forefront of our minds. These are the vehicles that are inherently tied to the traits exhibited by their drivers, and due to their symbolism, they are the most memorable vehicles in the history of TV!

In his best film, 2017’s The Big Sick, director Michael Showalter showed a deft hand balancing interracial rom-com conventions with an affecting dash of hospital drama to deliver a love story distinguished by humorous, culturally specific insights and tender depth of feeling. Spoiler Alert in many ways is a queer companion piece, exploring another relationship drawn from real life, this time between gay men. The chief difference, as the title and opening scene indicate, is the outcome of the illness, pushing the new movie further into traditional weepie territory, a move acknowledged with a winking nod to Terms of Endearment.
There are elements of preciousness and quirks that can lean toward the cutesy, even if they do come directly from entertainment journalist Michael Ausiello’s memoir about his 13 years with photographer Kit Cowan. I mean, how many gay men would stick around after...

James Winburn racked up around 80 credits during his career as a stuntman, but for genre fans there is one credit that really stands out from the pack: Winburn was the stunt double for iconic slasher Michael Myers in director John Carpenter‘s 1978 classic Halloween (watch it Here). In the moment where Dr. Loomis shoots Myers six times, sending him tumbling off a balcony, that’s Winburn performing the stunt. Sadly, it has been reported that Winburn passed away at the age of 85.
Winburn’s manager Peter DeLorme confirmed the news to TMZ, saying he passed away this past Saturday, November 19, in a Los Angeles hospital after a short illness. It was quite short, because Winburn attended a convention in the United Kingdom just three weeks ago. The company that put on that convention, which was called For the Love of Horror, said Winburn “was an absolute pleasure to work with...

Netflix subscribers looking to save some money now have the option to sign up for a cheaper, ad-supported tier. The Basic with Ads plan costs 6.99 per month rather than 9.99 for the basic plan without ads, and gives subscribers access to a decent amount of the streaming service’s extensive library. However, according to Variety and GameSpot, there are a number of TV shows and movies that unfortunately aren’t available to watch for people subscribing to Netflix’s newest tier.
Netflix’s Chief Operating Officer Greg Peters did tell reporters back in October that a “limited number of movies and TV shows won’t be available due to licensing restrictions, and [Netflix is] going to be working on reducing that over time,” but even with the new tier launching Nov. 3, Netflix still hasn’t released an official list showing what is and isn’t available to its Basic with Ads subscribers. Because of this,...

In the wake of the “Fast and the Furious” movie franchise, Spyglass Media Group continues to develop a feature film based on creator Glen A. Larson's 'talking car' action TV series "Knight Rider" (1982), following 'Michael Knight', a high-tech crime fighter, working for 'Flag' ('Foundation for Law and Government'), assisted by the 'Kitt' ('Knight Industries Two Thousand') artificially intelligent, self-aware and nearly indestructible 'Pontiac Firebird Trans Am' muscle car:
"...billionaire 'Wilton Knight' rescues police 'Detective Lieutenant Michael Arthur Long' after a near fatal shot to the face, giving him a new identity (by plastic surgery) and a new name: 'Michael Knight'.
"Wilton selects Michael to be the primary field agent in the pilot program of his public justice organization, the 'Foundation for Law and Government' ('Flag)', headed by 'Devon Miles'.
