Robert Downey Jr. surprised the world when he returned to the MCU as Doctor Victor Von Doom. Announced at this year’s Comic-Con, the Iron Man star unmasked himself as the antagonist of Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. Downey Jr. previously played Iron Man in the MCU and ended his tenure in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
Victor Von Doom is one of the most powerful villains in the Marvel Universe. The emperor of Latveria has feuded with multiple heroes in the comics, apart from being the main foe of the Fantastic Four. While Downey Jr. gears up to fight against heroes he once fought with, here are four heroes from Avengers: Endgame, who have defeated Doom in the comics.

Put yourself in the shoes of Wesley Snipes, the then-reigning big screen champion, and imagine navigating the choppy waters of Tinseltown in the mid-1990s, when he made the bold decision to set the stage for an iconic Marvel superhero—Black Panther.
The actor, 61, riding high on the crest of monumental box-office successes, was not just any tempting fate; he was a visionary raising his wings and ready to soar into the frontiers of cinema. With a golden touch that turned films like New Jack City and White Men Can’t Jump into cinematic gold, Snipes aspired to simply overwhelm the audience—an ambition far ahead of its time.

Chadwick Boseman bestowed Marvel buffs with perhaps one of the most iconic superheroes in the treasure trove of the MCU. The late actor – who portrayed the eponymous character in Black Panther – is ubiquitously cherished by fans even today, over half a decade after his debut as the regal and peerless T’Challa. And rightly so.

Surprisingly enough, we almost didn’t get the cinematic masterpiece helmed by Ryan Coogler owing to a former Marvel executive’s controversially outmoded beliefs who threw his weight behind an all-white male Avengers lineup and was hell-bent on foisting obsolete ways on the studio. In a twist of fate, however, the said exec has now bid farewell to his entire stake at Disney.

When Disney purchased 20th Century Fox, the Disney-owned Marvel Comics gained the ability to make comic books based on the Predator franchise. They started releasing Predator comics in 2022, and in 2023 they brought us a four-issue limited series crossover between the Predator and one of their most popular characters, Wolverine. Now the Predator is set to go up against another popular Marvel superhero, as the first issue of the four-issue limited series Predator Versus Black Panther is scheduled to reach store shelves on August 21st! A cover can be seen below, courtesy of Marvel, along with some sample pages from SuperHeroHype.
Coming our way from writer Benjamin Percy, who also wrote Predator vs. Wolverine, and artist Chris Allen (with Ken Lashley creating the cover art), the first issue of Predator Versus Black Panther has the following synopsis: Wakanda…Is Prey? “Joe and Anthony Russo will return.”
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Marvel is now in talks to bring Joe and Anthony Russo back as directors of Avengers 5 and 6. The Russos helmed some of the franchise’s biggest hits, including Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The Hollywood Reporter notes that the discussions are still in early phases, but they seem to be on their way.
Given the success of those films, and the difficulty that MCU head Kevin Fiege has had finding someone to helm the next Avengers movies, having gone through Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings‘s Destin Daniel Cretton and Shawn Levy of Deadpool & Wolverine, the Russos’ return seems like a no brainer. After all, they’re a very safe pair of hands when it comes to these sorts of massive, franchise-defining blockbusters. However, there is also risk here. Feige might do well to...

We all recognize Black Panther as one of the most beloved MCU characters, and both films featuring the Wakandan superhero were immensely successful. However, the sequel did not include the original Black Panther, T’Challa, portrayed by the late Chadwick Boseman in the first movie.
Following Boseman’s passing, Marvel chose not to recast the role, and Black Panther 2 paid tribute to the actor by poignantly portraying the real-life loss on-screen. The decision was made to honor Boseman’s legacy, considering the significance of the Black Panther character and their desire not to replace him.
Marvel has a history of recasting roles, as seen recently with Thaddeus Ross being recast after William Hurt’s passing. Harrison Ford will portray the character in ‘Captain America: Brave New World.‘ This has prompted fans to call for a new Black Panther in the MCU.

We all know that Black Panther is one of the most popular MCU characters and that the two movies focusing on the Wakandan superhero were highly successful, even though the second one did not feature the original Black Panther, T’Challa, who was played by the late Chadwick Boseman in the original movie.
When Boseman died, Marvel decided not to recast the role, and Black Panther 2 paid tribute to the late actor, as the real-life pain was adequately and beautifully portrayed on-screen as well. The official explanation was that they wanted to honor Boseman’s legacy, and since Black Panther was such an important character, they did not want to replace him.
But Marvel does have a tradition of recasting its roles, and the recent recast of Thaddeus Ross following William Hurt’s passing, as the character will be played by Harrison Ford in Captain America: Brave New World, has...

Director Josh Weigel has apologized to executive producer Letitia Wright for not letting her know Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire will help market her new film Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot.
“We are grateful for all [Wright] has done and regret she wasn’t informed about the partnership with The Daily Wire. That was not handled well, and we apologize for putting her in this position,” Weigel said in a joint statement with producer Rebekah Weigel from Peacetree Productions.
Their response came two days after Wright distanced herself from The Daily Wire when the right-wing media company teamed up with Angel Studios to release and market Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot. The Black Panther actress shared a now-deleted post on her Instagram page on Sunday to clarify that she was not involved in the decision to partner with The Daily Wire.

While filming A Quiet Place: Day One, Lupita Nyong’o says that Chadwick Boseman was on her mind.
In the thriller, the Oscar winner plays a poet with terminal cancer fighting for her life against a backdrop of an alien invasion.
“That was daunting to have to go there, psychologically and emotionally,” Nyong’o told People about playing a character who “is really facing their mortality, even before this apocalypse takes place, and whose life is slipping between her fingers.”
Nyong’o thought of her Black Panther co-star, who died of colon cancer in August 2020.
“In the end, it was actually very therapeutic because I had just experienced not too many years ago the death of Chadwick Boseman, which shook me to my core,” she said. “I definitely was thinking about that a lot.”

Lowest Paid MCU Stars Ranked By Paycheck. (Photo Credit – Instagram)
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has delivered some of the highest-grossing films in recent history, with total worldwide box office revenue of $29.55 billion. It’s safe to say MCU actors have profited significantly from the franchise, with three movies ranked among the top ten highest-grossing films of all time.
While some actors have made out like bandits, securing a huge payday, others were less fortunate. While Robert Downey Junior and Gwyneth Paltrow secured a massive payday for their roles, the new Captain America Anthony Mackie and Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman were paid significantly less than their co-stars, leading multiple successful movies in the franchise.
Given the success of the franchise, it might be a surprise that some of the actors on their payroll received the lowest paychecks. Below, we have compiled a list of the lowest-paid MCU actors based...

Before John Williams became the flagship film composer-conductor anyone thought of when they thought about the Hollywood Bowl, that honor belonged to Henry Mancini. And in some years, when Los Angeles is particularly lucky, it still does, even though the scorer behind “The Pink Panther,” “Days of Wine and Roses” and other classic scores has been gone for 30 years now. This Sunday, the LA Phil will devote the Bowl’s traditional opening night to a 100th birthday celebration for the man who, arguably more than any other, turned movie scores into a truly populist artform… and who conducted at the Bowl 29 times.

Marvel Studios keeps trying to unsheathe Blade, but the vampire thriller is stuck in its scabbard. The latest setback occurred in recent weeks when the feature lost director Yann Demange, the second helmer to exit the project. Some sources say both sides grew frustrated by Blade’s prolonged development process.
Star Mahershala Ali is also said to be increasingly frustrated. Ali, who has been attached to the project since 2019, handpicked Demange after the project lost director Bassam Tariq in September 2022. At the time, Blade was in preproduction and about two months from principal photography, but Marvel came to believe that Tariq was not the best fit for the project, according to sources. Marvel then presented Ali with a list of directors for consideration, but Ali conducted his own search after having concerns that the list largely featured filmmakers who were untested at the big studio level.

Author Agatha Christie passed away nearly fifty years ago, but her stories are still alive in a major way. A year rarely goes by without some sort of Christie adaptation making its way out into the world, with recent examples including the Kenneth Branagh films Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile, and A Haunting in Venice, the BBC series Murder Is Easy, and the upcoming three-part limited series Towards Zero. Another Christie adaptation that’s in the works is the Netflix series The Seven Dials Mystery, which is set to star Mia McKenna-Bruce (How to Have Sex), Helena Bonham Carter (Fight Club), and Martin Freeman (Black Panther).

The actor has confidently played three real-life people with great conviction over the years in Get On Up, Marshall, and 42. The latter became his breakthrough film which got Hollywood to get up and take notice.

The games industry’s penchant for innovation is second to none, with advancements in engine technology pushing the boundaries of graphical fidelity and immersive storytelling. These gains are displayed front and center in Ninja Theory’s Hellblade 2, but another upcoming game takes it further.
Skydance Interactive’s Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra recently went viral for its extremely photorealistic visuals, courtesy of the power of Unreal Engine 5. Both the aforementioned games have bonkers graphics, but use distinct approaches that underscore the engine’s versatility.

The X-Men '97 finale featured some huge Marvel Universe cameos, including Black Panther. However, we'd later discover that T'Chaka was beneath the mask, not T'Challa.
The decision has perplexed viewers, particularly when T'Challa's father is typically portrayed as the former Black Panther who fought alongside Captain America in World War II. T'Challa being sidelined has spawned many fan theories, with most convinced the decision must be related to Chadwick Boseman's death.
Following the actor's tragic passing, Marvel Studios chose not to recast his Black Panther. Instead, the hero died off-screen in the MCU, and 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ended with the reveal that he has a son, also called T'Challa.
In an interview with Phase Zero (via Toonado.com), X-Men '97 supervising director Jake Castorena was asked if there was a reason T'Chaka was depicted as Black Panther after the short-lived Fantastic Four: The Animated Series featured the...

As Marvel fans eagerly await the next installment in the Black Panther franchise, the legacy of T’Challa, as portrayed by the late Chadwick Boseman, continues to resonate with audiences. One scene in particular, from Captain America: Civil War, highlights T’Challa’s skills and competence as the Black Panther, leaving fans with chills and a desire to see him back in action.
Naturally, that raises the question: who should turn into the next Black Panther?
Is it T’Challa’s ex-lover and accomplished Wakandan spy, Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o)? Maybe it was T’Challa’s closest confidant, Okoye (Danai Gurira). Well, it seems the sister of T’Challa, Princess Shuri (Letitia Wright), is the only truly apparent contender for the throne, for now.

It was with great shock that the actor Chance Perdomo’s death was announced a few weeks ago. At the age of just 27, the British-American actor lost his life in a motorcycle crash. Known for his phenomenal performances as Ambrose Spellman in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and as Andre Anderson in The Boys spin-off, the late actor was believed to be heading to Toronto for the first table read of Gen V season 2 when the accident happened.
Production was immediately halted as the creative team and cast took some time to process the tragedy and figure out how to handle it within the show.

It’s hard to believe that it’s already May 2024, especially on the TV front. We have standing weekly appointments with “The Sympathizer” and “Under the Bridge,” are still reeling from “Baby Reindeer,” and still can’t get enough of Kristen Wiig in “Palm Royale” — but there’s a whole new crop of May shows about to debut that deserve the audience’s dutiful attention.
May brings some big names back to TV, including Sean Bean with Hulu’s “Shardlake,” Jeff Daniels with Netflix’s “Man in Full,” and Benedict Cumberbatch with “Eric.” Joel Edgerton headlines Apfel’s twisted thriller about a man unmoored from reality in “Dark Matter,” while André Holland plays Black Panther party founder Huey P. At the turn of the millennium, humanity was brought face-to-face with the world of the apes, beginning with the Planet of the Apes. The Mark Wahlberg starrer created waves back in 2001, laying down the foundation for a franchise that would never turn back. Even more than two decades down the lane, fans still continue to love the story. And a big testament to this is the hype around the upcoming entry in the series, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. There will be one notable absence though – the absence of Andy Serkis.

The year is 2011. Rise of the Planet of the Apes has just hit the theatres. Another entrant in a story that already had a host of buyers, the flick would go on to amass over $480 million at the Box Office.

Jonathan Majors had been enjoying the peaks of stardom with his major role as Kang the Conqueror in MCU’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. His acting skills were further praised when he starred opposite Michael B. Jordan in his directorial debut, Creed III. The sports drama project not only received positive reviews for its actors’ performances among other criteria, but it also helped in bonding the actors in real life.

Ryan Coogler, the acclaimed director of the Marvel film Black Panther, became embroiled in a real-life drama when he was wrongfully detained after being mistaken for a bank robber in Atlanta. The unfortunate incident occurred in 2022.
According to a police report obtained by TMZ, it all started when Coogler—who is well-known for his visionary work on movies like Fruitvale Station and Creed—strolled into his bank wearing sunglasses and a face mask and slipped the bank teller a note with written instructions on it.

Misinterpreting the situation, the teller believed it to be a bank robbery. The seniors were informed, and they promptly contacted the police, and Google was hudcuffed. Only when it became clear what was really going on, that he was eventually freed.

The moment that it started to seem possible that Bob Iger could lose the battle to keep dissident shareholder Nelson Peltz off the Disney board was on March 21, when leading proxy advisory firm Institutional Shareholder Services announced its support for the activist investor. Days later, the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) took it a step further, saying it was voting its shares not only for Peltz but for his associate, former Disney CFO Jay Rasulo. Now that it’s over, it’s fair to ask: What were they thinking?
Iss explained its decision by rattling off a string of issues, but the big one was succession, which had been notoriously botched with the Bob Chapek interregnum after Iger had postponed his retirement no fewer than four times. “Dissident nominee Peltz, as a significant shareholder, could be additive to the succession process, providing assurance to other investors that the board...

Earlier this year, it was revealed that frequent collaborators Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan – who have worked on Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever together as director and cast member, and have other collaborations that Coogler didn’t direct – have been developing a new project in secret. Coogler has written the script for this project, which is being described as both a genre picture and a period piece that Coogler will be directing and Jordan is attached to star in. The project is set up at Warner Bros., is expected to have a budget of around $90 million, and is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 7, 2025. Last week, we heard that Jack O’Connell (Unbroken) and Delroy Lindo (Get Shorty) were in talks to join Jordan in the cast. Now The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the deals with O’Connell and Lindo have closed and they’re...

A vicious proxy war has been erupting between Disney CEO Bob Iger and Trian Partners founder Nelson Peltz over the last three months regarding control of two seats on the company’s corporate board. Prominent figures from the entertainment and business industries have expressed interest in the board fight.

There are innumerable tales of films in Tinseltown that were never finished due to a variety of reasons. But among the most strange and tragic cases is the follow-up to the classic Russell Crowe 1997 flick, L.A. Confidential, helmed by Curtis Hanson.
For those unfamiliar, this Warner Bros. film, which starred Crowe, Kevin Spacey, and Guy Pearce, was one of the greatest neo-noir crime works of the 1990s. Hanson and co-writer Brian Helgeland even shared the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for it. Also, the $126.2 million flick received rave reviews from critics as well as audiences, and fans were excited about a potential sequel.

Kevin Feige’s huge and successful tenure is under speculation as billionaire and investor to Disney, Nelson Peltz openly criticized Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ‘woke’ strategy. Peltz is very critical of the strategy and condemns the declining box-office numbers due to the strategy.

Introduced in the 1990’s Uncanny X-Men #266, Gambit quickly won the hearts of fans as he had interesting abilities and a multilayered backstory, which resonated heavily with series’ reader-base. With the ability to charge inanimate objects with energy and convert them into deadly weapons, Gambit captivated the X-Men fandom. A thief by profession, he was extremely agile and a strategist by nature.

X-Men ’97 made its debut on Disney Plus, immediately winning over fans and critics alike. Two episodes in, and the show has already set up enormous stakes for its characters. From the introduction of Jean’s clone to Magneto’s trial at the United Nations, the show has come out swinging, and it seems like it’s not looking to pull any punches.

With the recent reveal trailer for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra came a renewed sense of excitement from fans of the franchise. During the Epic Games panel at the Game Developers Conference fans finally discovered the official title for the game which was teased way back in 2022.
Although there isn’t much given away in terms of gameplay, the game being developed by Skydance New Media does show that in addition to the two main protagonists of Captain America and Black Panther, players will also be to play as one of the Howling Commandos and as a member of the Wakandan Spy Network. So there is sure to be plenty of variety in the play styles throughout.
