Turner Europe nabs 'Duel Masters'
LONDON -- Children's rights specialist Entertainment Rights said Monday that it has signed a pan-European broadcast deal with Turner Broadcasting System Europe for Duel Masters, its new animated series for boys. Duel Masters, based on the popular Japanese Manga comic, began airing March 4 on Cartoon Network and Toonami -- Turner's new action-adventure channel for boys -- across Europe, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia and central and eastern Europe. The television series combines 2-D animation with CGI effects by Shogakukan's production arm, Shopro, which produced the hit shows Pokemon and Hamtaro.
