Director Sam Mendes has reportedly said that he wants to release his four films about The Beatles on the same day in 2027.
Skyfall and 1917 director Sam Mendes has set himself the formidable task of making four back-to-back films about The Beatles – and according to a new report, he’s come up with a similarly novel approach to their release.
As reported by journalist Jeff Sneider (via World of Reel), Mendes recently told students at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts that he plans to have all four movies appear in cinemas on the same day.
Aside from Clue, the 1985 comedy mystery that had a different ending depending on which cinema you saw it in, this writer can’t recall another instance of multiple films from the same director releasing on the same day. Perhaps one of you wonderful readers can point out another precedent.
At the moment, it’s unclear...

Craftspeople rarely get the spotlight that actors and directors get. However, Donald Mowat is not like most craftspeople. Over the past ten years, Mowat’s career put him at the center of some of Hollywood’s very best movies. After working on Dune, Blade Runner 2049, and Nightcrawler, Mowat kept his options open.
A long-time collaboration with Jake Gyllenhaal led to Presumed Innocent, allowing Mowat to dive into unique makeup effects with an all-star cast. The resulting series highlights much of what Mowat has to offer, and the Oscar-nominated makeup designer takes full advantage over the series. With the finale this week, Mowat sat down with FandomWire to discuss his work. This interview was completed prior to the announcement that Presumed Innocent will have a second season. The James Bond series is famous for being very strict about how it exudes its wealth. Being the epitome of class in the spy world, everything, ranging from suits to alcohol, playing cards, and props, no costs are spared. This is especially true for vehicles; which are extremely expensive to begin with. The film series is known for picking some of the most expensive cars and adding modifications to them to fit the protagonist’s occupation.

Jerry Bruckheimer has stepped up to dismiss talk of next year’s F1 film costing $300m as being wide of the mark.
The first trailer for F1 has finally landed, even though the release of the film is still a full year away. Still, it feels like we’ve been waiting for a long time to catch a first proper glimpse of this project given that we’ve been hearing about the project since late 2021.
Like a lot of large-scale projects over the last couple of years, F1 has been subjected to some major complications including last year’s strikes and the usual round reshoots that films of this scale tend to undergo, all of which has led to speculation that the film’s budget (which is being paid for by Apple) is somewhere around the $300m mark.

Celebrities can sometimes be incredibly giving to their loyal fans, or they can be infamously rude or distant. While tales of the notoriously standoffish may circulate, it’s the stories of generosity & humble surprises that truly draw us in. Look no further than the charming Adele, who manifested this balance beautifully during a fan interaction that has since become internet gold.

Back in 2022, the 16-time Grammy-winning songstress, known for her powerhouse voice and down-to-earth character, caused a stir with her spontaneous and good-humored reaction to a Jennifer Lopez fan’s Instagram-filtered video at her Las Vegas concert.
In the video, Jamy G was seen applying one of the many well-known filters as Adele appeared in the frame. This caused the singer to make sly remarks that would make anyone cry in the corner—but in a funny way.

Secret agents going rogue is such a common trope that sometimes we wish that people like Ethan Hunt or Jason Bourne would just follow their orders for change. When Daniel Craig started playing James Bond in 2006, it seemed like Bond went rogue on nearly every single mission, including most of Quantum of Solace, at least half of Skyfall, and basically, the first two-thirds of No Time To Die. Pierce Brosnan’s Bond went rogue in Die Another Day, too, with a full beard and no shirt, declaring “I’m checking out” from a hospital. And of course, Connery’s Bond was on an unsanctioned revenge mission at the start of Diamonds Are Forever.
But the most compelling Bond-goes-rogue movie of them all to this day remains Licence to Kill, which in 1989, would become the unintended swan song from Timothy Dalton’s fierce take on the character.
On June 13 of that year,...

The so-called "MonsterVerse" is nowadays as silly as the original Toho "Godzilla" sequels became. The franchise's first entry, 2014's divisive but successful "Godzilla," looks downright anomalous. Directed with impeccable scale and craftsmanship by Gareth Edwards, the film exercises careful restraint, escalating the spectacle to make it more satisfying. The palette is made from smog and fire, i.e. what Godzilla and his monster adversaries (the MUTOs) leave in their wake. As star Elizabeth Olsen noted, the film is cut from the cloth of the original 1954 "Godzilla," where the eponymous monster is an allegory for nuclear destruction and natural disasters.
2014's "Godzilla" isn't perfect. It has a so-so script and Aaron Taylor-Johnson feels out of his depth as the lead (even if "The Fall Guy" proved he can be a movie star). Compared to the other MonsterVerse movies, though, it looks like "Jaws."
When Edwards' "Godzilla" went into production, the franchise was in a bad place.

Sam Mendes is undoubtedly one of the best filmmakers of our times. Among his many hit films are American Beauty (1999), which earned him the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Director, then Road to Perdition (2002), Jarhead (2005), Revolutionary Road (2008), the James Bond films Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015), and the critically acclaimed war film 1917 (2019). He also made Empire of Light in 2022 but has not been active since. Yet, earlier this year, it was reported that Mendes was working on an ambitious four-film project related to arguably the best band ever – The Beatles!
Mandes is working on four individual biopics, each dedicated to one member of the famous group – John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. All four movies are currently planned for a 2027 release, which demonstrates just how big this project is. But this is old news. What we have for you here is some important casting information,...

Despite the Fab Four’s massive popularity, Beatlemania wasn’t of much interest for filmmakers for a long time. As for large movie projects about this group, fans have only seen Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Nowhere Boy (2009) about John Lennon’s teenage years.
This February every Beatles fan was blown away by the news that Sam Mendes will install the Beatles Cinematic Universe that will include four movies, each told from the perspective of every band member.
More than that, it has been recently reported that the director has already cast the Fab Four actors, and at first glance it seems to be a fan cast.
The biopics will assemble Harris Dickinson (The Iron Claw) as John Lennon, Paul Mescal (Normal People) as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan (Saltburn) as Ringo Starr and Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society) as George Harrison.

Portraying one of the most iconic cinematic characters James Bond for over a decade, Hollywood star Daniel Craig has become one of the best actors to bring the character to life on the silver screen. However, starring in the spy film series, which required him to perform numerous action sequences, came with significant challenges.

Working in the franchise took a physical toll on the actor, so much so that he even intended to bow out as the suave spy after the 2015 film Spectre, in which he suffered the worst injury throughout his venture as the MI6 agent. Craig later revealed that he injured his knee while filming an action sequence with Dave Bautista.

While Henry Cavill awaits his destiny as Agent 007 in the James Bond films, the producers are reportedly looking at changing up a different aspect of the legendary spy franchise. According to a source, producer Barbara Broccoli is looking at artists such as Bruno Mars and The Weeknd to produce the theme song of the next Bond film.
The James Bond films have always featured an original song for their grand opening credits sequences. Three of these songs have won Oscars in the past, including Adele’s ‘Skyfall’, Sam Smith’s ‘Writing’s on the Wall’, and Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell’s ‘No Time To Die’. The new Bond film might have a change in style due to the artists the production is eyeing.

Daniel Craig gained international prominence after playing the latest version of James Bond in a series of five films. His reimagination of Ian Fleming’s renowned spy was critically and commercially acclaimed by everyone. Despite achieving widespread praise for his portrayal, Craig has a major regret with his rendition of 007.

Daniel Craig had to undergo several breathtaking action sequences and stunts to bring one of the best James Bond on-screen. This also led to the 56-year-old sustaining several injuries during the film series. He has never shied away from openly talking about his painful journey as Bond.

Daniel Craig’s edgy and gritty version of James Bond is widely considered to be one of the most popular interpretations of the suave British spy. Following the more traditional and intentionally witty portrayal by Pierce Brosnan, Craig took over in 2006 with his first film in the Bond franchise, Casino Royale, which went on to become a massive hit at the box office.

It is one of the great pleasures of life to acknowledge that the current generation of movie buffs and fans of classic IPs are living in the golden era of Hollywood. Whether itʼs a renaissance of comic book adaptations, a complete reinvention of the James Bond IP through Daniel Craig, or the live-action re-enactment of universes crafted by George R.R. Martin, J.R.R. Tolkien, and J.K. Rowling, the 21st century brings with it an epoch of unbridled, uncorrupted, and unstoppable creativity.

Much like British spy’s tuxedos and gadgets, the theme song of a James Bond film is also essential to the overall Bond experience. From Shirley Bassey’s iconic Goldfinger for Sean Connery’s 1964 classic to Adele’s Skyfall for the best Daniel Craig Bond feature, there has been a plethora of classics over the 25 Bond films.
But there has also been a plethora of acclaimed musicians, who have faced rejection from the Bond creators over the years. This includes Honeymoon creator Lana Del Rey, who wrote a song back in 2015 for Daniel Craig’s penultimate Bond feature.

It’s safe to say Judi Dench isn’t much of an advocate for trigger warnings in the theater.
During an interview with Radio Times magazine, the Oscar winner recently joined the debate surrounding notices at the beginning of a production, alerting viewers that the content contains potentially distressing material.

The British singer-songwriter’s signatures have always been her powerhouse vocals, her confessional lyrics about heartbreak, and her unabashed emotion — she’ll make you cry or die trying. Her breakthrough came in 2008 with the release of her album “19,” which appropriately dropped when she was still 19-years-old. That collection was a modest hit — modest by her standards that is — peaking at number-four on the Billboard 200 albums chart and certified triple platinum in the US. It produced the single “Chasing Pavements,” which earned her her first Grammy noms for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and she won Best New Artist.
But that was just a hint of what was to come. Her next album, “21,” was a global phenomenon. Its lead single, “Rolling in the Deep,” became her first chart-topper in the US. The collection went 14-times platinum and swept the Grammys in 2012, including Album of the Year,...

People in the entertainment industry seem to get into awkward and embarrassing situations all the time, especially after getting drunk at some major events and afterparties. And while we do know that the first name to have popped into your mind after reading this must have been Jennifer Lawrence’s, this one’s about someone else entirely: Robert Pattinson.

And, unsurprisingly enough, things didn’t really turn out all too well for the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire star, as he later admitted just how much he regretted that encounter.

First announced in 2023, the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s classic novel Blood Meridian is still in the works, with John Logan announced as its screenwriter.
Announced last year, the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s bracing western novel Blood Meridian: Or The Evening Redness In The West is still quietly moving ahead.
In the works at production company New Regency, the movie will be written by Oscar-nominated screenwriter John Logan, who’s produced some remarkably varied scripts across his career, ranging from Alien: Covenant to Skyfall to Gladiator.
Logan’s adapted screenplay will be directed by John Hillcoat, who has form when it comes to making films based on McCarthy’s poetic, witheringly harsh work – he previously made post-apocalyptic mood piece The Road in 2009, starring Viggo Mortensen. That film was also produced by New Regency.
“Blood Meridian has been one of my favorite novels since first reading it in 1985,” Logan said in a statement to Deadline.

Of all the famously unmade and never materialized film projects, an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s bleak and brutal Western, “Blood Meridian,” has to be near the top of the list. Acclaimed writer John Logan will adapt Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy’s “Blood Meridian” novel into a feature film for director John Hillcoat.
Hillcoat is also producing along with Keith Redmon for New Regency. Cormac McCarthy’s son, John Francis McCarthy, will serve as executive producer, while Cormac, who died in June 2023, will receive a posthumous executive producer credit.
“It’s incredibly exciting to have John Logan on board,” John Francis said. “Very reassuring in the seemingly long list of good news concerning what was originally such an intimidating undertaking.”
The project was originally set up with director James Franco and star Russell Crowe in 2016, but fell apart over rights to the book.
Based on historical conflicts along the Texas-Mexico border in the 1850s, “Blood Meridian” follows the journey of the Kid, a fourteen-year-old from Tennessee, as he navigates the brutal and harrowing landscape of this new era.
