There are three adult animated series, one of which is a sequel and the others spinoffs. It’s time for the Summer Olympics, and you know what that means: it’s also time to become an armchair expert in every sport.
The Olympic Games bring people together from around the nation and the globe, united by the common interest of screaming from the couch for world-class athletes to swim faster or slowing down a tumbling routine to count the twists and turns. The Olympic trials are already streaming on Peacock, which will host the Games coverage in the U.S., but other streamers are ready to harness Olympics fever. Netflix’s docuseries about Simone Biles will premiere in July, as will “Sprint,” which takes a closer look at runners. Peacock’s “Those About to Die” takes viewers back to the days of Roman gladiators and a very different kind of athletic competition, as does a docuseries about Alaskan bears fighting the elements and each other to make it to winter.

Well, that was a hell of a cliffhanger.
By the end of Dark Matter (2024) Season 1 Episode 9, the Dessen family was in multiversal transit.
This is frustrating in and of itself since Apple TV+ hasn't announced yet if there will be a second season.
But let's assume common sense will prevail and return to the future later.
Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline Star in Disclaimer from Apple TV+. Here's Your First Look!
Instead, let's examine how Jason1, Daniela, and Charlie came to find themselves in this predicament.
First off, it's all Jason2's fault.
(If there is a second season, let's reduce the number of Jasons. Or at least dress them significantly differently. Like with Barbies. It would make for a more enjoyable viewing experience.)
Jason1 is indirectly to blame as well. Every door that he opened trying to find his home world created a duplicate of Jason1, with the same feelings and drives.

It's a woman's world in the brand new hilarious series Land of Women, based on Sandra Barneda's novel. It stars Eva Longoria, who's bringing her years of television experience and comedic chops to Apple TV+.
The series premiere episodes were a nonstop adventure of mishaps and mayhem, with laugh-out-loud moments that perfectly balanced physical comedy with sincere moments of heart and love.
However, the most striking aspect of the show is how seamlessly it weaves through dialogue in English and Spanish, which is a testament to the multicultural facet of the series.
Spanish-speaking viewers likely appreciated this. Shows with a predominately Hispanic, Spanish, or Latinx cast and characters either lean wholly into the native language or go full English.
It is a series that accurately depicts how bilingual people talk to one another, usually slipping between their native language and English, which adds to the authenticity of the series...

Dark Matter always had the potential for getting convoluted.
That finally happened on Dark Matter (2024) Season 1 Episode 8.
Based on Blake Crouch's novel's premise, it was inevitable.
Every character's decision creates a new dimension with a new version of themselves in said dimension.

There are few things better than a totally committed Natalie Portman performance – from her full-throttle descent in Black Swan, to her recent mesmerising turn in May December. And for her next project, she’s once again tumbling down a rabbithole for Apple TV+ series Lady In The Lake – not, as it sounds, a tale of Arthurian legend, but a psychological drama wrapped around a murder mystery. Adapted from Laura Lippman’s novel of the same name, the show sees Portman’s Maddie Schwartz reject her life as a bored 1960s housewife to become an investigative journalist – digging into the death of Moses Ingram’s Cleo Sherwood, whose body was found in a Baltimore lake. Check out the trailer here:
That’s a gripping first look, promising a compulsive watch from Honey Boy director Alma Har’el, with plenty of stylistic flourishes and nightmarish visions. Har’el directed all seven instalments of the show,...

So it turns out Apple TV+’s “Lady in the Lake” looks different than some had expected.
The Natalie Portman-led limited series is described as “a feverish noir thriller and an unexpected tale of the price women pay for their dreams.” Based on the information released so far, it seemed like a 1960s period piece/murder mystery/character drama about an investigative journalist who prioritizes her career over her family.
But the new trailer for the series reveals dreamlike fantasy sequences, narration from beyond the grave, and unsettling psychological thriller flourishes. This is “Black Swan” Portman as much as “Jackie” Portman.
Academy Award winner Portman, who also serves as executive producer, stars as Maddie Schwartz, a Jewish journalist in late ‘60s Baltimore who becomes obsessed with the unsolved murder of Cleo Johnson (“The Queen’s Gambit” breakout Moses Ingram), a Black woman who was found floating in a reservoir. It...

Based on the 2019 novel of the same name comes a new thriller with Natalie Portman and Moses Ingram leading the cast of characters surrounded by secrets and lies in Apple TV+'s Lady in the Lake.
The limited series boasts a talented cast that will likely deliver award-winning performances. Portman has landed eighty-four nominations, almost half of which have been won.
One of the most interesting things about the upcoming series is that while it is an adaptation of a novel, the story itself is based on actual events in 1969.
This will be an exciting new venture for Natalie Portman, as this will be her first leading role in a television series in her career.
Previously, she has only appeared in scripted and unscripted guest roles, such as her one episode in Angie Tribeca.

Apple TV+ on Tuesday released the trailer for the upcoming limited series Lady in the Lake, a Natalie Portman- and Moses Ingram-led mystery-thriller that follows a fledgling journalist and what she unearths while looking into the disappearance of a girl in 1960s Baltimore.
The whirlwind trailer teases the story derived from Laura Lippman’s novel, which focuses on how two women’s lives converge around one’s mysterious death. Portman portrays Maddie Schwarz, a housewife hoping to shed a secret past and reinvent herself as an investigative journalist in the city. She becomes obsessed with the death of Ingram’s Cleo Johnson, who is working to advance the interests of Baltimore’s Black community.
“I saw you once, Maddie Schwartz. Before any of this began, I saw you. Alive, I was Cleo Johnson,” Ingram’s narrator says as the trailer opens. “But in my death, I became the lady in the lake.

"My wife is a lot of things... there's one thing that she's not – that's foolish." What do we have here? Apple TV has revealed an official trailer for a new noir thriller mystery series titled Lady in the Lake, arriving for streaming this summer. Yet another crime series to keep people glued to their screens wondering who killed who. Not to be confused with the 1946 classic film noir Lady in the Lake, this is based on a (newer) book of the same name. In 1960s Baltimore, an investigative journalist working on an unsolved murder clashes with a woman working to advance the agenda of the city's black community. The protagonist ditches her doting husband and big Pikesville home to pursue a career as a newspaper reporter. She then becomes obsessed with unraveling the mystery of two separate killings: eleven-year-old Tessie Fine and a bartender named Cleo Sherwood. Starring Natalie Portman,...

The search for something more unites two women from different walks of life in Alma Har’el’s Lady in the Lake, even though one of them happens to be dead. A stylish new trailer certainly sets up the noir thriller, based on Laura Lippman’s 2019 novel of the same name, as one of the most intriguing shows of the summer.
Moses Ingram, recently of Apple TV+’s The Big Cigar, stars as Cleo Johnson, a young mother struggling to support her family in one of Baltimore’s underserved Black communities. Her quest unfortunately leads to her doom, but from beyond the grave, she manages to “speak” to Maddie Schwartz, a Jewish housewife turned journalist played by Natalie Portman. When Maddie becomes obsessed with Cleo’s death, it sets her on a path to enlightenment — or destruction, a fate that she would seem to share with the object of her obsession.
