Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A woman tries to kill a macaw, known as Death, because it wants to take her daughter's life. She beats the macaw with a heavy book several times, then pours wine onto it and lights it on fire as the macaw screams with pain. The woman then eats the macaw with a loud crunching sound. The macaw appears alive later in the film.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A woman offers a glass of wine to a macaw, but the macaw spills the glass and therefore does not drink.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The macaw waves its wing over several human beings, causing them to die (mostly non-graphically). Many of these people initially protest to being killed, while others beg to be killed in order to join their deceased loved ones. Some of these people are diseased or bleeding from the mouth before the macaw finally takes their lives.
