Hajime Isayama has always stood by realism and it is apparent in Attack on Titan, his smash-hit series. But this is not to say that the franchise never faced any criticism. In fact, Attack on Titan is knee-deep in controversies due to its various graphic and unethical depictions.
While the author remains unbothered by all of it, he also takes pride in his realistic depictions. Attack on Titan is not for everyone, and those who watch it need to be prepared to not scrunch their face in disgust at the realistic treatment of the characters in the anime.

Superheroes stories seem to have explored every possible angle and with this comes along a Chinese anime, To Be Hero X, that’s about to flip the genre on its head. It is the latest addition to the ever-expanding universe of superpowered protagonists, but this one comes with a twist so wild, that it’s practically begging for a Deadpool quip.

Imagine a universe where the next great hero could be the guy sitting next to you on the bus, or even could be anywhere near you. That’s right, folks. This brings us into a reality where the ordinary becomes extraordinary in the most unexpected places. With its outlandish premise and a protagonist sporting the seemingly mandatory white hair of overpowered anime characters, it is going to deliver a superhero story that’s as hilarious as it is action-packed.

Attack on Titan has become one of the greatest anime ever. But the journey was not always easy. Apart from the finale controversy, there were other things that Hajime Isayama had to consider. He needed to be careful before he finalized each draft of his manga.
Sexism was something that he had to be careful with. It was a challenge for the mangaka since he had to change his views mid-way. Since another human colony, Marleyans, was introduced, his projection on the matter changed. He needed it to carry a touch of reality, even though it was based on a fictitious world.

The Paradise Army or the Military Police Brigade did not discriminate between genders. Whoever was capable and passed the tests would join the brigade. As a result, there were several female soldiers on Paradise Island.

Hajime Isayama has always been open about his distaste for his own art style. After being rejected again and again by publishers because of his drawings, there was no doubt that his self-confidence had taken a hit. Attack on Titan’s praise was endless but it wasn’t enough for him to regain his faith in his art style. It was something he just couldn’t unsee.

Even as the manga was coming to an end, he wasn’t convinced about whether or not people actually liked what he drew or just the story itself. Although fans might praise the way he visually narrated the story, it wouldn’t change his mind about the fact that his style may be unimpressive to Isayama himself.

Attack on Titan‘s mangaka lamented about his decision to let Eren and Mikasa kiss at the end of the series. Attack on Titan is one of the most iconic animes in contemporary times. Its protagonist Eren and his love interest Mikasa have always been a major plot in the show. Fans expected both of them to have one iconic kiss at the end of their roles.

But it looks like Isayama was more shy than them. The mangaka admitted that he wanted Eren and Mikasa to kiss each other but his shyness refrained him from doing so. Now fans have to imagine them kissing because of Isayamas’s restriction. Later he stated that he should have let them have their kiss, such an introvert Isayama is!

Isayama should be called Mr. Coy because of his shy nature.

Hajime Isayama wrote his name amongst the greatest mangaka with Attack on Titan. A decade-long journey full of mind-boggling twists took the anime to great heights. A successful spree has helped the anime gain millions of followers. Recently, the entire Attack on Titan fandom was criticized for their egotistical comments. They compared Hajime Isayama with Isaac Newton in a social media post.
Everyone has a favorite anime and would do anything to defend it or highlight the mangaka. Sometimes, a lack of logic in opinions can escalate matters. The same thing happened with the Attack on Titan fandom. Social media users did not find it amusing. They are bashing them for going out of line with the comparison.

It’s got blood, it’s got gore. It’s got violence and a lot more. Well, surely this statement isn’t poetic and the same goes for the character deaths in Attack on Titan. The series aired its first episode 11 years ago and continues to hook the readers and viewers to this date.

Very few characters have had as much impact as Eren Yeager in the anime and manga community due to his epic character development and fascinating narrative. Eren was initially portrayed as a vindictive hero who was out to destroy the Titans, but as his character arc unfolds, it reveals the darkest sides of his nature and the worst traits of humanity.
It’s interesting to note that Eren represents the darkest aspects of Hajime Isayama himself, acting as a grim mirror of the author’s difficulties and anxieties.

The story of Eren begins with a tragic event that sparked his vindictive nature against the Titans and a burning desire to strive for freedom. Though it seems heroic at first, the stern determination soon turns into a darker perspective. Eren’s persistent pursuit of his goal often results in his making morally ambiguous choices.

The Naruto franchise has some pretty epic moments. These moments made the viewers jump up in excitement. The orange-clad ninja became one of the most popular Shonen protagonists. His journey has often inspired the audience. Masashi Kishimoto began his magnum opus in the late 1990s, and the anime concluded in 2017. When the anime concluded, the fans were happy and sad at the same time.

Mikasa, the character from Attack on Titan is one of the most pivotal characters in the show. Hajime Isayama made her character one of the show’s well-noted characters. In the show, Mikasa is often shown going by the side of Eren, the main character of the show, which can make it seem that she is there just to help Eren grow.

The relationship between Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman is one of the most complicated aspects of the Attack on Titan series. Their relationship, characterized by strong emotional bonds and loyalty, has been the series’ primary theme. An insight provided by the creator Hajime Isayama on Mikasa Ackerman years ago might help analyze the dynamic of their relationship properly. However, with the recent ending scene, Isayama’s depiction of their relationship has sparked some controversy.

In the final chapter of Attack on Titan, the scene of Mikasa kissing Eren’s decapitated head can be interpreted in various ways. Some may perceive it as a sign of their close relationship, while others may see it to be a complicated, and potentially illicit interaction. But Hajime Isayama’s comparison of Mikasa’s possessiveness over Eren with a mother’s protectiveness towards her son has become rather creepy in this particular context.

The Streaming Wars are over and there is a clear winner — surprise, surprise, it's Netflix. Joining the pile of companies reconsidering this whole streaming thing is Apple TV+, which is now vowing to stop throwing so much money at shows no one watches. Apple TV+ is watched and used about as much as U2's "Songs of Innocence" was listened to when it got released on iTunes for free, with Bloomberg reporting that Apple TV+ "generates less viewing in one month than Netflix does in one day."

Hajime Isayama has created a wonderful set of characters for Attack on Titan (despite more than half of them dying). While characters like Eren shifted their personalities by the end of the series, one character maintained their gravitas. As it turns out, Isayama had actually designed this person to aim for success.
In an interview, Isayama poured his heart out about how he worked as a part-timer and had to handle rowdy crowds. But it was this experience that gave him the opportunity to create a major character in Attack on Titan.

There are some parts of Mikasa that are unrefined, yet on the other hand, she has a brave personality. I think these are influenced from the heroine of Berserk,...

Former Editor of Kodansha’s Attack on Titan, Park Jung-Hyun, has been sentenced to prison for 11 years for the alleged murder of his wife. The High Court decided to rule against him in his case after a retrial last week on July 18, 2024, because his testimony was seen as untrustworthy due to differing versions of what happened. The murder reportedly took place in August 2016.

The editor was arrested in January 2017, and this was his third trial that was ordered by the Supreme Court, as it determined that multiple portions of the evidence had not been adequately examined and studied in the previous trials. Characters like Aizen (Bleach), Eren (Attack on Titan), and Johan (Monster) have taken the lead among unsettling anime characters. Their personalities have such a jarring difference with their appearance and demeanor, that it’s very hard to accept them. But this trend was not always present in the anime/manga world, and in a way was popularized by Akira Toriyama.
Now you might ask what relation any of these anime have with Akira Toriyama, but remember that Toriyama is one of the living legends of the manga/anime world. The steps taken by him in his series, later became more widely accepted, due to Dragon Ball‘s popularity.

Hajime Isayama worked extremely hard for Attack on Titan. The effort he put into its creation didn’t just take a toll on him physically but also mentally. It is not uncommon for mangakas to find themselves getting ill because of the terrible schedules that they must grow accustomed to. For Isayama though, his problems began much before the manga even picked up serialization.

For a story that held so much depth and understanding, there was no doubt someone must have picked it up at one point. With the number of publishers around, there shouldn’t have been a problem for Isayama to find the right place for his manga. However, his fate was twisted to show him hardships before his journey could kick off.

There’s one character in Attack on Titan who holds the power of causing a rebellion if he is ever killed by Hajime Isayama. You guessed it right, it’s Levi Ackerman, humanity’s strongest soldier. And Eren fans can scream all they want, but Levi’s presence is undefeatable in the series.
Levi is one of the main characters in Attack on Titan and his popularity exceeds that of the protagonist, Eren. Fans love his short-king attitude as well as his no-nonsense demeanor. No one can imagine Attack on Titan without Levi, the top soldier of Paradis. In a recent interview, Hajime Isayama explains why he deserves the title of Humanity’s Strongest

The Tokyo High Court has sentenced Jung-Hyun Park, a former editor of Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, to 11 years in prison for the murder of his wife. The court found Park’s claim that his wife committed suicide to be unconvincing.
According to the police reports eight years ago, Park had allegedly strangled his wife to death on Aug 9, 2016, at their Sendagi residence in Tokyo’s Bunkyo ward.
Incident Details:
Around 2:45 a.m. that morning, Park called emergency services, stating that he found his wife collapsed at the bottom of the stairs near the first-floor entrance upon returning home. She was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
In a statement made following his wife’s death, Park claimed that his wife had committed suicide. However, an autopsy reportedly revealed signs of strangulation on Kanako’s neck.

Hajime Isayama is responsible for one of the greatest anime ever. He is the mastermind behind Attack on Titan. From 2013 to 2023, Attack on Titan has given one plot twist after another. The fans could not understand which side to vouch for. The season finale left everyone in tears, especially how Eren Jaegar had taken up a bad boy image to protect his friends and help them in becoming the heroes of the modern world.
Even though it was such a great ending, there was a lot of controversy regarding it. Hajime Isayama had to change it at the last moment and also apologized to the fans for not putting in more effort. On top of that, he was asked to write a spin-off series on one of the most beloved characters of the show. But having created a blunder with his magnum opus’ finale, he was afraid to take up another project.

Gege Akutami, creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, revealed that the character Toji Fushiguro was inspired by actor Jason Statham and Emiya Kiritsugu from Fate/Zero.
Akutami discussed the influences behind Fushiguro’s character in a Q&a, which was part of a catalog handed out during the recent Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition which was held at Shibuya in July 2024.
While considering Fushiguro’s character, Akutami initially envisioned him as similar to Kenny from Attack on Titan. However, the character’s appearance shifted after being influenced by the aura of voice actor Kazuhiro Yamaji.

There is no better word to describe the series than perfect; ranging from excellently written characters to clever cinematography, performances of a lifetime, and engaging storytelling. The Best Superhero Series to Binge this Summer and Where to Watch Them - Main Image
Marvel Studios and DC may be slowing down in their theatrically released projects, but that just means there’s more room for television-focused projects.
Summer has had some great series so far, and while some have wrapped their season, there is still a load of other comic book adaptations on their way to the small screen.
X-Men ’97
June was buzzing as Disney+ had brought back the classic version of the X-Men from the 90s. Picking up from where the original series left off, Beau DeMayo’s take on the Children of the Atom finds the X-Men picking up the pieces after the death of Professor Xavier; that sounds complicated enough as it is, but they’re suddenly faced with having to have the team be run by their oldest nemesis Magneto.

Eiichiro Oda is a master craftsman who knows how to balance an extremely dark storyline in a way that is palatable to fans of all genres. One Piece is the perfect example of a series that deals with serious problems, but the protagonist takes the burden of stress off from fans.

Even though there were a few controversies surrounding the ending of Attack on Titan, he made some last-minute changes for the fans to bid farewell to Eren Jaeger in the most heartbreaking way possible. Even though the anime was based on human survival and fighting the Titans, it was initially planned to have a different plot.

Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan has left a long-lasting impression on the anime community. It will forever be treated as one of the greatest anime ever. Eren Jaeger sacrificed his life and 80% of the human population to save his friends. The out-of-the-box thinking is what made Attack on Titan such a popular anime. On top of that, several plot twists kept the fans on the edge of their seats.
Instead of using superpowers, he opted for a story where humanity was on the brink of extinction and where giant human-eating titans inhabited most of Paradise Island. Fans would be shocked to know he was inspired by the multiple Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park.

Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is one of the most popular Shonen series in anime history and has been airing since 2005. Part of the show’s popularity is how the story emphasizes the themes of adventure and freedom using Monkey D. Luffy, who is on a journey to fulfill his dream of becoming the Pirate King.

With complex storylines and well-written characters, fans are deeply attached to the characters that have showcased intriguing personalities. However, some fans have claimed that Oda-Sensei might have been focusing on something deeper than showcasing the adventure of Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirate Crew.
Recently, a fan theory has emerged on the same, stating that the Shonen series might have a deeper and darker meaning to its core than just inspiring its global audience.
Is Eiichiro Oda’s Magnum Opus a Cryptic Statement to the World?...

The highly anticipated third part of “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War” is scheduled to premiere in October 2024, as announced at Anime Expo. This continuation of the beloved anime series, adapting the final chapters of Tite Kubo’s manga, has been titled “The Conflict” and will further the battle between Soul Reapers and the Quincy.
A new poster and trailer were unveiled alongside the release window announcement, generating excitement among fans who have been eagerly awaiting the continuation of the series. This third installment, along with the upcoming fourth part, will cover the remaining seventy-seven chapters of the manga that were left unadapted when the original anime series concluded in 2012.

When it comes to the Big 3 of Shonen manga and anime, One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach have been reigning as the long-time holders of that position. No one has yet replaced them and the chances of it ever happening seem less than likely. It wasn’t luck that brought them to the top but so many other factors that fans seem to forget more often than not.

The way they have established themselves is unlike any other. The very thought of certain anime and manga replacing them seems more so absurd than possible. There are many of those who rise in fame, their impact extraordinary but they stand out on their own, none comparing to the Big three. Shows like Attack on Titan, Death Note, Hunter x Hunter, and many more came and went but none of them were able to measure up...

Sanji, the beloved kicking master of One Piece, might have never been the character we know had there not been a major change before his debut. Eiichiro Oda, the mastermind behind One Piece, had created several character designs for the Straw Hat Pirates, and all of them went through several rounds of correction before they could make it to the story.
The same could be said about Sanji, except the difference between the original character design and the current Sanji is too huge. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the pre-debut world of One Piece.

What is Heavenly Delusion About?
The Japan of the future looks very different from what we imagined. Banditry thrives on the remnants of civilization, and mysterious monsters constantly attack the survivors, killing everyone on their way.
A young man, Maru, and his bodyguard, Kiruko, travel through the post-apocalyptic world. Their destination is Heaven that Maru must reach in order to find a person who looks like him – although it is not quite clear why.
And somewhere in this Heaven lives a group of children: they know no troubles and are provided with everything, although they have to live surrounded by huge walls.
