Sutorenjia: Mukô hadan (2007)
Excellent
A young boy and his dog find themselves the target of the Ming: a foreign dynasty that will stop at nothing. One day, a quiet and solemn warrior crosses their path, and becomes irrevocably connected with the two. A deal is struck and the warrior agrees to take the boy to a remote, Buddhist temple, where a kind monk is waiting to care for him and the dog. Unfortunately, the Ming have sent their elite, and they will test their strength, courage, and quality every step of the way.
This is a really good film if you into the taiso period of Japan.
I also thought the fight scenes in this film were excellent.
Level E (2011)
Weird anime
In the present day, hundreds of extraterrestrial species walk the Earth. Some are pacifistic, others violent. Some are here for research purposes, others are career criminals. However, humans don't know they are here. Now, one more alien has arrived on Earth. One of the universe's foremost geniuses with a personality that's bound to attract all sorts of trouble.
I generally found this series to be very weird for the most part.
Though I will admit the animation was good as was the music. The voice actors were also okay with what they were given.
But I will admit a lot of the plot of this anime was weird.
Makai toshi: Shinjuku (1988)
Not perfect but much better then Wicked City
Kyoya's father was a great warrior, killed at the hands of the diabolical psychic, Rebi Ra, who has now opened a portal to hell in the city of Shinjuku. It falls to Kyoya to finish what his father started and battle his way through demons, while protecting a young woman from harm. The only problem is that he's not exactly your classic hero type, and his powers are still latent.
I thought this movie was much better than Wicked City in many ways. For example i am so glad that there wasn't any disgusting scenes and it didn't relie on rape and sexual assault like that movie.
Rama and Kyoya are actually well written characters that you would want to see together.
I also liked the music and art style. The plot was also better written.
That being said unfortunately it pains me to say this but the English dub was awful, and this is coming from someone who is a huge fan of English dubs. The voices had weird accents and awful script and dialogue for me to take it seriously.
I also didn't like the animal cruelty in the film.
Aside from that it was a good movie.
Jûbê ninpûchô (1993)
Ninja scroll
All the people of the town of Shimoda have been killed by a plague. The local government, the Togugawa clan, send a team of ninjas to investigate but all but one of them are wiped out by mysterious forces. The only survivor is a woman, Kagero, who is taken prisoner. A samurai mercenary, Jubei, rescues her but his interest in her mission and cause is temporary.
This was a really good classic anime for its time. Jubei was definitely a very good protagonist, definitely what I would expect for this kind of film.
The art style and animation was good. The English dub was quite good as well.
My only bad quality was that sexual assault scene at the beginning of the film, if you take that out it's an excellent movie.
Gorugo 13 (1983)
A good action anime flick
Indestructible to his enemies and irresistible to women, the professional assassin Duke Togo - code-named Golgo 13 - is shrouded in mystery and anonymity. If you're on his hit list you're already dead. Always hired on his reputation alone, Golgo 13 never breaks a contract. But can he survive the combined forces of the FBI, CIA, The Pentagon and the U. S. Army? Has the hit-man finally met his match against the superhuman powers of the Snake and the twin evils of the psychopathic mercenaries, Gold and Silver?
I thought this was a good action flick to watch for what it's worth. The animation and English dub were excellent.
Yôjû toshi (1987)
Yeah not a fan
There is Earth, our familiar world, and then there is the Black World, a parallel dimension that very few people are aware of. For centuries, a pact between the two worlds has been observed to maintain peace, and terms must be negotiated and renewed soon to continue relative harmony. This time around, there is a militant faction called The Radicals that will stop at nothing to prevent the signing of a new treaty for inter-dimensional peace. Two agents of the elite organization known as the Black Guards - defenders of the balance between the two worlds - are charged with insuring the success of the treaty. Taki Renzaburo is a (Human) black guard agent from shibuya and Makie a black guard agent who is a from the black world and there mission is to protected a man named Giuseppi Mayart, a 200 year-old man. Mayart is the only man who can keep the peace between both worlds, but if the The Radicals kill Giuseppi Mayart the peace between the human world and the Black World will end in terror. Can Taki & Makie protected for long?
Was there anything good about this film? Yes
The animation and art style was very unique and it blended very well with the film. I loved the ost especially Awakening which I'll admit is something I listen to quite often. The dub, the one by streamline was excellent definitely the best of their time. Major props to Taki's voice actor.
Unfortunately however that is about. I don't know where to start with how disgusting and vulgar this film was. Too many disturbing scenes and unwatchable rape scenes. I am not going to to describe them because of how horrible they were.
If you like this film more power to you but I didn't.
Avenger (2003)
Just don't get confused with the Marvel avengers
Years into the future, colonies have been established on Mars. Resources on the dying red planet are thin, and the domed cities have resorted to a gladiator contest to determine which of them receive the most rations. Layla Ashley is the representative fighter for Serena City, Mars. She and Speedy, a doll breeder, run across Nei, a mechanical doll with curious characteristics. Together they wander and fight their way across the planet, to take revenge against a man from Layla's past...
The series I personally think is very underrated.
Layla was definitely a very interesting protagonist and Nell was a very adorable side kick.
The story while can be underwhelming was decent, still better then most anime's today.
The ost was definitely the best thing however.
Midnight Eye: Gokû (1989)
Not bad
Episode 1: In the near future of 2014, Goku, a former police detective turned private eye, is investigating a mysterious string of apparent suicides of a special police unit investigating a ruthless weapons merchant. In his aggressive style, Goku almost joins that list, but he mysteriously survives and receives a cybernetic eye by parties unknown that can literally control any computer in the world. Now, he has a score to settle and is armed with what he needs to accomplish that. Episode 2: A desperate woman hires Goku to stop her brother, a nearly indestructible and increasingly unhinged supersoldier bent on revenge through rampage. Goku learns that the supersoldier was an unwilling guinea pig in a secret military experiment conducted by his father, a sadistic army general with getup quite similar to Street Fighter's M. Bison. However, all this is just the tip of the iceberg of dark family secrets in this extremely dysfunctional family.
I thought Goku was a very interesting character. Between the two episodes I would say episode one was the best one of the bunch.
Kuraingu Furiman (1988)
Yeah...no
Emu Hino, a 29-year-old virgin, witnesses a mob hit and fears that the killer will now find her and kill her. Indeed, he sets out to do so; he's Yo Hinomura, a talented potter and artist who's been conscripted against his will to be the prime hitman for the 108 Dragons, a gang within the Chinese Mafia, who are determined to push aside Tokyo's local crime lords. He breaks into her house, and she asks that he make love to her before he kills her; she connects to his inner self, and he becomes her protector. Now he must defend her against the local crime gang, who have connections with corrupt Tokyo police. Will Yo and Emu make it out alive, and will the 108 Dragons triumph?
Yeah I am sorry but I did not like this anime whatsoever.
The only thing I thought was decided that came out it was the animation, voice acting and music.
I just found it ridiculous how the main guy basically is hit man who also basically cheats on his wife behind with all the women he meets.
There is literally no story to follow, the last episode basically just existed even though it could have ended on the 5th one. Plus there was no plot development or hints to show Tsunake being the main antagonist.
Also every character gets naked for no reason whatsoever.
This show is an example of wasted potential.
Teito Monogatari (1991)
At least it still had good horror and action scenes
The plot concerns a spiritual battle being waged within the capital of Tokyo during the turn of the 20th century. In 1908, Japan is undergoing an enormous process of industrial renovation due the influence of radical western ideals. Technology and politics shift the country's emphasis more and more away from the traditions of the past, with Tokyo being the main center of this radical movement. At the same time, Yasumasa Hirai, an Onmyoji of the Tsuchimikado Family, has been called from Kyoto to Tokyo in order to participate in a secret meeting concerning plans to turn Tokyo into the most commercial and blessed city in all of Japan. Opposing Hirai is Yasunori Kato, an evil Onmyoji whose only desire is the complete destruction of Tokyo. Yasumasa Hirai and Kato Yasunori meet and fight for the future of Tokyo and the Japanese Empire.
Aside from the rape scenes, especially one which I am not going to describe on here.
I quite enjoyed this anime for what it's worth.
Tenjô tenge (2004)
A so bad, but so good series imo
Souchirou Nagi and Bob Makihara are two delinquents who arrive at Toudou Academy with the objective of ruling over the school with their strength. But on their first day, they encountered the Jyuukenbu, a martial arts group of the school. Members of the group, Maya Natsume, her sister Aya, and Masataka Takayanagi easily overpowered Souchirou and Bob. And what's more, due to what was assumed to be their "connections" with the Jyuukenbu, the two were attacked by members of the Enforcement Group, which oversees the martial arts groups of the school. Drawn into the personal conflicts between the Jyuukenbu and the Enforcement Group, Souchirou and Bob have no choice but to join up with Maya Natsume's group and to hone their skills to become even stronger.
Tbh I was expecting to not enjoy this anime because of its reception but I actually ended up enjoying it.
Does it have bad quality? Yes I didn't like how the character Masataka was basically just mistreated through out the series, Aya's just forcing herself on to Souchirou even though it's obvious he is not into her. Also some of the animation wasn't that great and it hasn't exactly aged well but still more tolerable then most anime's today.
Aside from those bad quality I think this series is a decent watch if you're into fighting animes.
Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre (2023)
Slightly better then the last series but still not great
In the light of day and in the dead of night, mysterious horrors await in the darkest shadows of every corner. They are unexplainable, inescapable, and undefeatable. Be prepared, or you may become their next victim.
Sit back in terror as traumatizing tales of unparalleled terror unfold. Tales, such as that of a cursed jade carving that opens holes all over its victims' bodies; deep nightmares that span decades; an attractive spirit at a misty crossroad that grants cursed advice; and a slug that grows inside a girl's mouth. Tread carefully, for the horrifying supernatural tales of the Itou Junji: Collection are not for the faint of heart
Just like with the last series There were some good segments (I forgot what they were since it been a few months now) but a lot of them not so much.
The writing in some of those could have been better and the art style was pretty bad.
The only good thing I liked were the cast and the ost.
Junji Itô: Korekushon (2018)
What the hell is this?
In the light of day and in the dead of night, mysterious horrors await in the darkest shadows of every corner. They are unexplainable, inescapable, and undefeatable. Be prepared, or you may become their next victim.

Kyôgoku Natsuhiko kôsetsu hyakumonogatari (2003)
Horror was good but there was stuff I thought wasn't good
Tired of writing riddles for children, Yamaoka Momosuke plans on gathering spooky and gruesome stories and publishing them in an anthology called Hyakumonogatari ("One Hundred Tales"). While researching these old myths and legends he comes across a mysterious trio who call themselves the Ongyou. They are detectives who are investigating the legends to reveal their truths...and bring those in the wrong to justice. Each time Momosuke meets the Ongyou he must face horrible truths and battle with his morals, but he's seeing things he shouldn't be seeing.
I thought the animation, voice acting and art style was good. I also liked some of the horror.
My bad qualities were how the anime realied on fan server, rape and child abuse for the most.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011)
Camera shakeyness
Johnny Blaze, a man who made a deal with the Devil who called himself Mephistopheles at the time (now Roarke), is on the run trying to make sure no-one is harmed by his alter ego, The Ghost Rider. He is approached by a Monk named Moreau who tells him that he can help be him free of the Rider, but first, he needs Johnny's help to protect a boy, whom Roarke has plans for, to help him take human form.
The whole film in my opinion was just basically ruin by awful camera handling, it was like the guy holding the camera was on his first day. It was so bad I nearly good dizzy.
Also the CGI was awful.
However the music was decent.
Ghost Rider (2007)
It was decent
When the motorcyclist Johnny Blaze finds that his father Barton Blaze has terminal cancer, he accepts a pact with Mephistopheles, giving his soul for the health of his beloved father. But the devil deceives him, and Barton dies in a motorcycle accident during an exhibition. Johnny leaves the carnival, his town, his friends, and his girlfriend Roxanne. Many years later, Johnny Blaze becomes a famous motorcyclist, who risks his life in his shows, and he meets Roxanne again, now a television reporter. However, Mephistopheles proposes Johnny to release his contract if he become the "Ghost Rider" and defeat his evil son Blackheart, who wants to possess one thousand evil souls and transform hell on Earth.
I thought the story and plot was decently done. The music was excellent. Though when it comes to Nicolas Cage as Ghost Rider I thought he was okay but not exactly my first choice.
However Blackheart was a very weak villain.
Still a decent film and far better than what came next.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
What a way to disrespect Chadwick Boseman's legacy
Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M'Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect the kingdom of Wakanda from intervening world powers in the wake of King T'Challa's death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia and Everett Ross and forge a new path for their nation.
Was there anything good about this film? Alright I'll get the good out of the way and say the actors still did a good job with what they were given. The music was also really good.
Now on to the bad. Well if you don't like spoilers I suggest clicking off the review because I am not holding back.
Let's start by say this film was very boring. I get the film is nearly 3 hours but at least give a reason for it.
They immediately disrespect Chadwick Boseman's legacy by having his character die by some diseases. Look I am aware that Chadwick passed away 4 years ago but they really should have given his character a better send off like I dunno retire his character or something. I get that Marvel didn't want to recast his character with another actor but here is thing. Boseman's family actually wanted to see someone take the mantle.
Namour was a very weak and uninterested villain and what's worse is they botched his name by mispronouncing it.
This shouldn't even be called Black Panther since they literally did a bait and switch by making Shuri the protagonist instead. Also Iron Heart if these are the type of characters that the MCU is aiming for I suggest they should stop while they still can.
Also do I even need to say about the stupid decisions of having the queen be killed?
Oh and that post credits scene involving somehow T Challa all of a sudden having a son?
In the end all I will say is that while wasn't a huge fan of the first film at first I have began to appreciate it a lot more now. However, this is an embarrassment to the first film.
Gankutsu-ô (2004)
A decent adaptation
Trying to escape his uneventful life, Albert, the son of a renowned general from Paris, makes a journey with his friend Franz. During his travels, he meets an immensely wealthy nobleman named The Count of Monte Cristo. Living in luxurious hotels, surrounded by beautiful women and strong bodyguards, the charming but enigmatic count fascinates Albert. Albert invites the count to join the high society of Paris. However, unknown to Albert, his father had once framed the count and took the Count's fiancée as his own.
I thought this adaptation was decent. For an anime version of The Count of Monte Cristo.
My only bad quality was how it ended.
Trinity Blood (2005)
Blood
The background is in the distant future after the destruction brought about by Armageddon. The war between the vampires and the humans continue to persist. In order to protect the humans from the vampires, Vatican has to rely on other allies to counter the situation. The protagonist, a priest called Peter Abel Nightroad, travels through the countries as a representative for the Vaticans. However, he is also part of "Ax", a special operations group controlled by the Cardinal Catherina. His encounter with a young girl called Esther will determine the struggle and survival between the human race and the vampires.
The plot was good
The dub was excellent major props to Troy Baker, Aaron Dismuke and Colleen.
If you like a vampire genre in anime you will enjoy this.
Higashi no Eden Gekijôban II: Paradise Lost (2010)
A good ending
As one of the 12 Seleção that needs to save the country in order to win a game, Akira Takizawa decided to become the "King of Japan." With that in mind, after his return from the U. S. A., the remaining Seleção will also need to follow up on their own plans as they strive to outdo each other.
Saki Morimi and the other members of the "Eden of the East" are under suspicion of being terrorists, but they still do everything they can to help Takizawa reach his goal and unravel the secrets of his past, as the last fight between the Seleção begins.
If liked the series you may enjoy this second part of the film.
Higashi no Eden Gekijoban I: The King of Eden (2009)
A decent follow up
After preventing Japan's destruction, Akira Takizawa made one final request to become the "King of Japan," before he erased his memories once again and disappeared. Leaving Saki Morimi with his cellphone, the only clue she has in regards to Akira's whereabouts is the message, "I'll be waiting where our journey started."
Six months later, rumors have spread about Akira, and Saki's search leads her to New York City. However, Saki is not the only person who goes to investigate-with several billion yen burning a hole in their pockets and a challenge to "save Japan," the remaining Seleção are not far behind. Some are willing to help Akira achieve his goals, but a few are making dangerous moves in order to eliminate him and achieve their own picture of a better Japan. With rising stakes and new revelations, the game is still on.
If you liked the series. You may like this.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
For the love of god please don't make anymore
Suffering from palpable delusions, burnt-out Thomas Anderson, the award-winning creator of The Matrix (1999) video game series, now relies on potent blue pills to keep his inner demons at bay. Then, amid inexplicable, reality-defying visions, Thomas spots Tiffany, a familiar-looking perfect stranger evoking strange emotions, and his already fragile mental state starts to deteriorate. As Mr Anderson yearns for an explanation while teetering on the brink of depression, once more, he confronts a pressing dilemma and the burden of choice. On the one hand, blissful ignorance guarantees the illusion of safety. On the other hand, the unbearable truth of reality can only mean one thing: the elaborate Matrix goes beyond the limits of imagination. But, somehow, Thomas already knows what he has to do. However, does he want to know how deep the rabbit hole goes?
This film completely ruined the franchise, Trinity and Neo. By making one into a Mary Sue and the other into a coward.
I might have not been a huge fan of the sequels at first but over time I have began to appreciate them a lot more.
The recasting of Morbius and Smith was terrible.
The only good this were Keanu Reeves still doing a good job, the music, the title sequence and seeing scenes from the previous films.
If you enjoyed the first three films, plus the Animatrix then please for the love of god avoid this movie.
Higashi no Eden (2009)
Of the east
On November 22, 2010 ten missiles strike Japan. However, this unprecedented terrorist act, later to be called as "Careless Monday," does not result in any apparent victims, and is soon forgotten by almost everyone. Then, 3 months later... Saki Morimi is a young woman currently in the United States of America on her graduation trip. But just when she is in front of the White House, Washington DC, she gets into trouble, and only the unexpected intervention of one of her fellow countrymen saves her. However, this man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, is a complete mystery. He appears to have lost his memory. And he is stark naked, except for the gun he holds in one hand, and the mobile phone he's holding with the other hand. A phone that is charged with 8,200,000,000 yen in digital cash.
I really enjoyed this series from start to finish.
I will admit there were some concepts I did find weird but I thought it was good regardless.
The animation was and art style was well done.
The dub was excellent.
Akira and Saki are very likeable characters.
The intro is definitely something i listen to time and again.
Black Cat (2005)
The black cat
Train Heartnet is a famous assassin known as Black Cat. He works for Chronos, an organization that secretly controls the world. However, he begins to question the morality of his actions after he befriends two bounty hunters named Saya and Sven, a thief named Rinslet, and a young girl named Eve.
I thought this was a very cool action packed anime with some really amazing fight scenes.
Train Heartnet is an example of a character who has excellent and an excellent lead of a protagonist. Sven is also a great side kick who does have some good development. Eve aside from being an adorable little girl with blonde hair definitely goes beyond just that.
The ending and into were excellent.
While I have mixed feelings about Train's actor over the years but I still thought the dub was excellent.
If want to see an action packed adventure you may like this series.
Samurai Chanpurû (2004)
Samurai rap
Fuu, a waitress who works in a teahouse, rescues two master swordsmen, Mugen and Jin, from their execution to help her find the "samurai who smells of sunflowers."
This anime is an excellent example of a master piece from start to finish with characters that you would remember forever each with unique personalities.
The music was entertaining and it fitted the setting very well. The animation and art style was excellent. The dub was fantastic Steve Blum, Kari Wahlgren and Kirk Thornton were excellent as the three leads. The story was also well written without getting boring or uninteresting.
If you are into animes with raps and action you might enjoy this.
