Lou (2022)
Typical movie watcher says...As per usual Allison Janney is great
I am not one of those people that love to talk about the art and blah blah blah... I want to be entertained whether it be completely fake but a good story or based on real stuff but still a good story. So for the every person who likes a decent story and good acting this would work for you.
From her small part as the inept guidance counselor in 10 things I hate about you, to The West Wing and onto The Help, Allison Janney gave another great performance where you know it's her, but you forget it's her. The acting over all is good with a little bit more of an original story than your typical spy making a new start movie...but without Janney
i think this could have fallen flat. However, I feel like a
little more back story would have helped make it into a higher rating.
Overall entertaining and some good action sequences for those who like action.
Panic (2021)
I don't understand the bad reviews
As someone else wrote it was fun to watch. Yes some of the actors were a little older looking but look at the decades of that being done in tv shows. Don't take it too seriously and just enjoy the ride.
Secret Society of Second-Born Royals (2020)
For the audience it is intended for, KIDS, it is good...and a good movie for a family night.
I do not understand all of these bad reviews by what seem to be adults?? Just an FYI the movie isn't meant for you. My KIDS, ages 8 and 12, both liked it. I am trying to figure out why people, especially those that the movie is not geared towards are taking issue with an obvious fantasy movie about kids with super powers and calling it unrealistic. I am just going to point out if a movie has anyone with super powers in a movie it is unrealistic, it is just for fun. I have seen many movies based on comic books...Hello Marvel movies and other movies based in fiction and not reality....but when I watch them I don't ask if Captain America or Black Panther are realistic, because they are not in the real world, they are in a movie and they are darn entertaining to watch.
Now, back to the real question for which the rating should be given, is it entertaining for the audience it is intended for? The answer is YES. Was I, as an adult able to guess what would more than likely happen knowing the general kid movie formula, yes, but the the movie is not intended for people in their late 30's/early 40's. It was a nice movie to curl up as a family and watch together, my kids enjoyment and our together time is really all I want out of a movie like this.
A Ghost Story (2017)
Cure for insomnia
I am in general a person that likes what the "normal" audience likes. On a sight like rotten tomatoes I always base my opinion on audience review NOT critics- that being said if you like slow, boring movies with little dialogue go for it...if you like a real story don't bother!!
The 5th Wave (2016)
It was entertaining
Please everyone stop trying to be a critic. If this is not a movie you would normally watch stop putting it down...fine it's not your cup of tea- it doesn't make it a horrible movie. I cannot count how many times I have watched "critically acclaimed" movies and I thought "who thought that was amazing?" So now, I only watch what I want to. That being said it is based on a book about the apocalypse and follows some of the teens and young kids that have survived the different waves of attacks once their parents are gone. It is pretty close to the book and was just entertaining. So stop with the cynical reviews...lets remember it was a movie based on a book , not on actual historical events!!
I, Robot (2004)
Gave it an 8 but I think it's 7.5
It was entertaining, a newer look at AI. It's just a good watch if you don't overthink like some people on jere like to do with most movies. If you overthink you can dislike every movie!
Robin Hood (2018)
Review fron someobe who loves to be entertained.
I swear the ones that give bad reviews all want to be the next movie critics...So for those in it for entertainment you got it. Yes there are quite a bit of modern changes to the story, like the military formations and of course clothing. However, under it all it entertains- and isn't that the point of a movie?! I don't care about cinematography forget that I just want to entertained- and this did it in the vein of of the story...it's no Gladiator..but it's fun.
