A person who is overly aggressive and manipulates power dynamics to their advantage will always seem aggressive. In contrast, understanding the group's dynamics and recognizing when they’re ready to hear or be pushed on an idea or an issue has been key to my leadership success. This approach ensures that assertiveness is perceived not as a forceful imposition but as an informed, strategic interaction that respects and leverages the existing dynamics and readiness of the group. This understanding of assertiveness, rooted in empathy and strategic insight, enhances the effectiveness of leadership by fostering a collaborative environment.
