I agree that systems need routine auditing. Are sprinklers level, are they turning, are the arcs set correctly, do they turn on, are the streams disrupted in any way. Today we have the tools to manage the water, apply it where needed as needed. Yet it does not happen. Deep and infrequent watering that we all taught is in my experience rarely done. Grass is amazingly resilient when managed under drier conditions, less fertilizer, less diseases, fewer weeds. Healthy turf that can take the traffic that come with golfers.

Water recycling is a vital strategy for conserving water on a golf course. Implement systems to capture and reuse rainwater, runoff, and greywater for irrigation. Advanced technologies like subsurface drip irrigation and smart irrigation controllers can further optimize water use. By recycling water, you can reduce dependence on external water sources and promote sustainable practices.

Expectation management among club members is also important. They need to appreciate the fact that a golf course doesn't need to be green all the time to look beautiful.
