La escucha activa eficaz es una muestra de competencia comunicativa y relacional. No puede ser solamente una estrategia o una herramienta de moda. Hablar de comunicación es hablar de relación. Por tanto Escucha activa o eficaz es lo mismo que decir Relación activa o relación eficaz. Ve más allá de la simple escucha y pregúntate ¿Cómo me relaciono con esta persona? No podrás escuchar activamente si sostienes barreras o frenos a relacionarte con alguien de tu equipo. Si usas la escucha activa solo como una herramienta, difícilmente empatizarás y conectarás en profundidad. Pero si buscas relacionarte honestamente y con interés en la otra parte, entonces la escucha activa será un extraordinario puente de conexión personal.

La integridad y reputación como profesional tarda mucho en conseguirse ya que se sustenta en el tiempo y requiere de un ingrediente esencial, además de los ya mencionados honestidad, coherencia y transparencia ¿cuál es? Humildad, para asumir los errores, para reconocer los límites, para aprender de otros, para no dejarse arrastrar por la sobre-exigencia y perfeccionismo, etc.

El compromiso empático no surge espontáneamente. No se trata de descubrir si "empatizo o no empatizo con esta persona" Más bien necesita intención, es decir, "voy a hacer el esfuerzo consciente por empatizar y entender el punto de vista de esta persona, sus sentimientos y necesidades". Ser un profesional del coaching no conlleva automáticamente empatizar con todos y cada uno de los miembros del equipo, como digo requiere Intención y Consciencia. Es una posición que asumimos.

Sin duda el soporte constante es importante, pero no podemos confundirlo con permanente. Si así fuera limitaríamos mucho el poder de crecimiento del equipo y sus miembros que necesitan autonomía para poner en marcha sus propia acciones, aprender, equivocarse, alimentar confianza o innovar.

Para que la comunicación sea abierta, y el equipo exprese su pensar y sentir sin temor, necesitan confianza, y esta necesita SEGURIDAD PSICOLÓGICA. El gran desafío de los líderes de equipo. ¿y cómo hacemos para que esta se de? reconociendo y mostrando la propia vulnerabilidad, es decir: Empieza por expresar tus propias dudas, errores, inseguridades, tu autenticidad, para que otras personas se atrevan a hacer lo mismo.
