How can you improve your analytical skills through ongoing training?

I do 2 things that help me immensely in improving my analytical skills: 1. Apply analytical techniques to real-world problems or scenarios. Regular practice helps reinforce your skills and allows you to adapt them to different contexts. 2. Follow influencers, experts, and organizations on platforms like LinkedIn and YouTube. Many updates and releases are often shared through these channels.

Its important to identify your goals but its more important to identify your organisation’s priorities. If your skills and goals are aligned with the priorities of the organisation then it can create a positive environment for you to excel in your analytical skills. Learning without practical implementation will be difficult to achieve though it may still help in theoretical knowledge but practical experience can help in master the skills. Identify skills with practical area of implementation or a use case and then start creating milestones to measure your progress. First milestone can be as simple as “Hello World” in your new identified skills 😊

In my opinion, an analytical analysis involves determining your analysis's goals and objectives. For instance, you should clearly define the goal of your analysis. Is your analysis intended to break down a thesis hypothesis, examine the market for competitive gain and profit, or computer coding among other things? At the point when the analysis aim and objectives are clear, then your analysis tools and skills are determined. You analysis skills should match the level and the quality of analysis expected of you based on your role and rank within the work setting. If you lack required analytical skills , knowledge is a click reach away.

Analytical skills can be considered as tools that everybody possesses and uses in our daily lives. In order to improve this ability, everybody needs to be filled with curiosity. There are two things that will truly help us maintain that curiosity. 1. Expose ourselves to problems that require in-depth research. One thing I found helpful was the design thinking course. It's learning how you can think and realize the main problems, collecting data about the problem, analysing the outcomes, brainstorming for solutions, choosing the best solution, implementing the chosen one, follow up the improvement, and getting feedback.

A skill is something which can be mastered only by practice. Just like the swimming or cycling (Skills) cant be learnt even after reading 100 books, similarly analytics or for that matter any skill cant be mastered without practice. At the core is the human intelligence. The tools and software just aid the skill. Application and Practice is the crux to becoming a professional in the domain.

This is really the best way to start, I try to keep up to date on the state of the art on tools and frameworks, but the critical part is recognizing in our day to day work which particular problems would be good places to test something new. That way you both learn something new and get business value out of your efforts.

To know something is one thing; to apply it is another. Learning can be a two-step process. Knowing about something is the first, and we can read about something or get taught by somebody about new skills. The second part is applying what we have learned. Unfortunately, some people stop at the first step of knowing about something, and that's it. The knowledge stays in their head but doesn't get applied in any way. For learning to be truly effective, one must apply what they have learned to make the most out of it. Only through application we reap the possible benefits of what we know and use them to fulfill our goals and improve. Various things can help us realize the potential of what we know, and it will be good to turn them into habits.

La formación no hace al profesional, es más una herramienta dentro de una caja de herramientas, cuantas más tengas y más especializadas mejor. Lo que hace al profesional es su trabajo, es como utiliza esas herramientas. Por eso considero que una parte fundamental del proceso de formación es la práctica, su uso cotidiano, si puedes implementar los conocimientos que vas adquiriendo en tu día a día es más fácil que esos conocimientos se consoliden; si no pones en práctica tus habilidades es fácil que se oxiden y se puedan perder u olvidar.

This cannot be emphasised enough. Nothing beats practice and experience. Any knowledge particularly analytical knowledge not used consistently is bound to be forgotten or at least not optimally utilised.

I believe reflecting on the results of your hardwork is the toughest yet very rewarding activity. As a human, it is very difficult for us to face our flaws, however if one overcomes this flaw, one can see immense development both personally as well as professionally.
