You’re working on a tight deadline. How can you prioritize tasks to meet it?

The first thing to check is how realistic are the goals and the deadline. See my comments in the last section. You are a human being and not a robot! Get an estimate from your manager of the time expected to complete all tasks for delivery. Identify the most important tasks, then assess the time they will take to complete. Then notify your manager, if necessary with paperwork. That way your manager will know whether you can complete the schedule for these tasks on time. Also, the manager will get a rough idea of whether you have sufficient time to complete your tasks classified as less important.

I wasn't writing like myself. A result of having had read someone else's words during research. My brain had not digested those into my words yet. Follow these steps: * Make a list of all the tasks that need to be completed. * Focus on high-priority tasks. * Break down larger tasks into smaller, manageable ones. * Categorize tasks based on urgency and importance. Focus on tasks that are both urgent and important. * Delegate or defer tasks that can be done later. * Avoid multitasking and focus on one task at a time. * Allocate time for each task based on its priority. * Stay flexible and be prepared to re-prioritize tasks as necessary. * Don't hesitate to seek help from colleagues or supervisors.

I would go a step further and say start your day with tasks that require focus e.g writing. Your brain is still fresh and can get that done in 2hrs max. Then the rest of the day can be smaller but significant tasks like scheduling etc.

To meet tight deadlines, prioritize tasks by urgency and importance. Break tasks into manageable chunks, delegate where possible, and use time blocking to allocate focused work periods. Stay flexible, eliminate distractions, and employ the 80/20 rule to maximize efficiency. Stay organized with productivity tools and adapt as needed to ensure project success.

In documentation, this can be achieved through 3rd party companies that provide software to check your work. This software is usually provided through an annual license fee. This fee is expensive and suited to national and multinational firms. Other firms can get around the problem by employing a full-time editor, whose time must be included in the original estimate to the manager. In software, compilers check the coding, but other people can be employed, to check the code for any unanticipated events that might occur, thus preventing the program from crashing. To reduce production time, software firms are also getting AIs to check and write code.

You have to consider that you might have been given an unrealistic task because: (a) Your manager does not possess a realistic estimate of the task. (b) Your manager is hoping that you will put in additional hours to complete the task. In (a), put the paperwork of your estimate in front of your manager, and inform the manager whether it can be realistically completed on time by you, or, whether additional staff are required. In (b), this will be determined by the character of your manager. If the manager is well-balanced and you get on well, then the occasional overtime with overtime pay might be welcome. But if the manager is just driven by deadlines, it will not stop there, and you have to consider your health in the long term!
