This understanding helps managers avoid the pitfall of assuming their message is being understood as intended and instead builds genuine understanding and effective dialogue.

Communication is action. Next to solid belief and compelling desire, effective action is one of the three crucial cornerstones of leadership and management. The manager’s job is to relate to people in such a way that they choose to follow you willingly. Every individual has a habitual way of being and speaking, often operating unconsciously. Therefore, it’s about developing range in how we connect and communicate. An executive coach can support you in bringing more awareness to these unconscious patterns, allowing you to see what you might not recognize. This awareness enables you to choose new ways of engaging with others. By tailoring your message to different team members and situations, you can build stronger rapport.

The initial point in the session was to understand that temperamentally many tech people are introverts and thus delegating to them and criticising their efforts is a sensitive manner as they sometimes take things very negatively.
