Know how to use your tools, no matter how simple they may be. Understand the importance of the numbers behind the analysis. Realize that a glass can be both half empty and half full at the same time. It all depends on how your analysis is communicated.

Sharing insights is key to fostering a collaborative environment. As an Auditor, I regularly create detailed reports and presentations to share my findings. This transparency not only keeps the team informed but also demonstrates my commitment to collective growth. This is one of the skills technical people, even technical leaders, fail to master. If you cannot explain the concept you’re discussing in common vernacular, you don’t understand it. People already know you’re smart. That’s how you got the job. Move past it. If you can’t also speak in non-Nerd or at least Nerd Lite you’re going to lose your audience. It’s unfortunate because so many talented and intelligent people have great stories to tell. If you can’t explain it to your parent or grandparent keep working on “finger painting” the message. Break it down. Use analogies and metaphors. Connect with your audience.

A leader does not have to be the most genious person in the room. Not has to be the most knowledgeable either. A leader needs a target, passion, topic, new destiny, change, product, etc. to lead. Anything that comes to the plate needs a strong argumentative view and clear communication with all parties. The most valuable person in the room is the one who is not afraid to be seen as less knowledgeable and asks important and time-saving questions. The person who communicates the right questions also proves he can these - lead to change - complete the product - fulfill the target This communcative character also enlightens the leadership capability strongly among all other traits.
