Last one but not the least is to have Long-Term perspective, take challenges as part of a journey which may lead to long-term rewards.

You can't have a growth mindset without embracing failure. We need to stop being so terrified to fail and start celebrating failure instead. Failure means you're learning and therefore getting better. Failure means you tried something, took a risk and while it didn't work this time, you have a better idea how to make it work next time. In the digital age it's more important than ever to foster an environment where teams feel they can take risks and safely fail. Better still - reward teams for trying something new - even when they fail. The alternative is teams so terrified of the consequences of failure that no one is willing to try anything new. Innovation grinds to a halt and you're no longer getting the best out of your people.

This is crucial. When you have junior members in the team, where experience is limited in certain areas, make sure you involve them in conversations and to oversee activity. For example, when creating strategic plans, involve them in the analysis and research activity. Let team members see how forming strategic plans is not something that's a 5 minute job. And make sure you're also continually learning. Sometimes fresh opinion is needed to break challenges and ensure progression.

LinkedIn is good for innovation and to seeing how others are undertaking similar tasks and responsibilities. But I think having mentors in different fields is invaluable. Never think you're the finished article, and use experts that you come across to guide you when needed. Use on a situational basis or for challenging your thinking. And be objective, not defensive based on the response.

This one I insist on in my teams. Experimentation is key. Test, learn and evolve is what I have within my dept. plans. And if mistakes are make, why are they? Is it carelessness? Is it because something wasn't foreseen? Is it due to incorrect assumptions? Just make sure the 'learn' element is at the core of how your process. Encourage considered risk taking, as testing a theory, solution or service is so much better than simply relying on third party info.

All of my most successful campaigns have come from testing first. It's a must to be able to continue to try to outperform your KPIs on any platform. If you don't know if an idea will work... test it! You never know what you will find out or what path it will take you down. Testing provides the opportunity for better results, more connections in the industry, added insights and a chance for a good conversation with the client/advertiser.

Learning to talk to yourself more than you listen is a great way to celebrate your progress on a daily basis. In the morning while brushing your teeth, try having a conversation with yourself. Look yourself in the eyes and ask what you need that day. What is going to be the hardest part. What would help you through it. Then while brushing your teeth before you go to bed, look yourself in the eyes and be proud of yourself and say thanks. Good job making a comment in that meeting when you did not want to. I'm proud of you for trying to point out a different perspective. Thanks for being nice to yourself when you forgot that thing.

I always insist on celebrating progress and small wins along the way to bigger goal.
