Researching the company is a must along with it's core values and purposes. Then see how that aligns with your values and definitely mention that during the interview process. To add more weight, you may want to think an example or two where you've demonstrated that value or those values in your personal life as well.

Asking insightful questions is a must-do during an interview, but I believe it shouldn’t wait until the end. No company’s, or leader’s, story starts at the end. There’s always a beginning - a genesis - of how the company and the leader got to be what and who they are today. Ask insightful questions earlier in the process - it will reveal a lot about how the company and leader thinks, how they make decisions, and what they value. Aligning on this level allows for a much more informed assessment of your own values, goals, and behaviors - all things key to identifying a great match.

Don't be afraid of asking questions in the middle of the interview, either. If the interviewer mentions something that piques your interest and invokes a question, ask! Especially if it is something that is likely to be forgotten by the end of the interview. Also, if you are someone who gets nervous during interviews, it's okay to write down important questions and have the list ready at the end of the interview. Base your questions on what is important to you. If culture is key for your job satisfaction, ask questions about how they show employee appreciation, what employee resource groups are available, or how their turnover rate compares to competitors.

I think April Hansen raises a good point that interviews should be a back and forth conversation with questions from both sides throughout the conversation. A lot of people know the trick at the end to ask what would your ideal candidate hire look like in a year, 5 years, etc. But when asked about your experience or to explain something on your resume, talk about your past experience, but then follow up with something along the lines of how do you think my past experience I just shared can help fulfill the role you have open. I like to ask what pain points the company is having early in the interview and have a discussion how I think I would be able to use my past experience and knowledge to address those areas.
