Academy GOLD is a global talent development and inclusion initiative that provides creative individuals of diverse backgrounds access and resources to achieving their career pathways in filmmaking. The initiative includes professional and creative development opportunities for in front of and behind-the-camera career pursuits through the Academy’s established programs – GOLD Rising, GOLD Production Track, GOLD Fellowship for Women, the Student Academy Awards, and the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. Academy GOLD also offers a full continuum of support for all past participants and award recipients of these programs through the GOLD Alumni and Mentorship Program.

Congratulations to these Academy Gold alumni! 🌟 Jean Chapiro (Student Academy Awards) and Felipe Vargas (Gold Rising) were selected for the New York Latino Film Festival. Their films 52 MINUTES (Chapiro) and CARNIVORA (Vargas) will be included in the midnight screenings featuring offbeat and experimental films. Chapiro’s short documentary HASTA ENCONTRARLOS (TILL WE FIND THEM), which won a Student Academy Award, will also be screened at the festival.

Congratulations to these Academy Gold alumni! 🌟 • Nicoletta Nomicou (Gold Rising) is one of eight composers selected for NBC Universal's Composers Initiative (2024-2026). • Marcus Farrell (Gold Rising), Air Force veteran and VFX Coordinator at Marvel Studios, recently launched his own comic book company, Electric Black Comics. His first series HUNTERS OF TOVERA is currently being fundraised.
