Interview and Selection Insights from Me to You: I spent a good part of my week interviewing many candidates with potential employers and I wanted to share a few observations & recommendations. I hope they help you in some small way. ➡ When you are interviewing on zoom - dress professionally. It doesn't have to be formal but you need to look polished. No t-shirts please. ➡ Your energy needs to be higher on zoom because we do not see your whole personality - kick it up a notch! ➡ Be prepared with vibrant, specific examples of things you have implemented that led to measurable results. ➡ Avoid speaking in general terms - be very specific- step by step. ➡ When a question you had not thought about comes up - do not rush to answer - take a moment to process and thoughtfully answer. ➡ It is ok to ask a clarifying question if you are unsure of what is being asked of you. ➡ If the questions you had prepared to ask were already discussed organically - try not to ask them again - instead ask something else based on what you heard and learned. ➡ Selling yourself means clearly articulating what you bring to the table, how you can add value and most importantly how you can drive revenue and contribute to achieving company goals. ➡ Practice how to convey your leadership skills and soft skills with examples of skill tests, certifications, courses etc. ➡ Regardless of the outcome, PLEASE send a thank you note and recap some of the things you heard that you loved. If it doesn't work out right now - it might in the future. Leave a good impression.
