Respecting Old Glory 🇺🇸❤️ Following a recent storm in the Columbus area, two field personnel spotted an American flag tangled in our equipment along some overhead power lines. One of the lineworkers — himself a proud U.S. military veteran — rode up in a bucket to carefully remove it. He ensured it did not touch the ground before folding it up neatly. Because its owner could not be identified, the flag is being safely stored and will soon be delivered to a local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post. #AEPOhio #OldGlory

Back to school with a bucket truck ride — what a way to wrap up summer! Thanks to Columbus City Schools - Ohio for another fantastic Back to School Resource Fair and to the customers and community members who stopped by to chat or soar into the sky on one of our bucket trucks. August is National Traffic Awareness Month and there's no better time to reinforce the importance of safe driving. 👀 Stay focused behind the wheel. Vehicle accidents — often with resulting damage to our equipment as seen in this photo — are a leading and often-preventable cause of power outages. 🚧 Watch out for pedestrians and workers along the road, including our crews. Slow down and obey all safety warnings and flaggers when in a work zone. Make sure everyone goes home safe each and every day!
