Congratulations on 5 years of service to Brian Wilkinson! Brian re-joined AIRTEC in 2019 and was promoted to CEO in January 2024. He has decades of aviation experience in both military and private industry, specializing in aerial Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Maritime Patrol Aviation (MPA), and Interdiction. He has flown thousands of hours as a Flight Test Technician, Instructor, Mission Sensor Operator, and Air Mission Commander on various aircraft platforms, operating in more than 15 countries, often in austere environments. Currently, he is leading AIRTEC’s business efforts and improving operations, helping the company successfully address current global safety, security, and defense customer challenges.   We appreciate Brian’s dedication and hard work contributing to the important missions of our customers. We enjoyed having Brooke Charley intern with us this summer and wish her the best as she continues her college education. Supporting multiple finance and program functions, her mentors were truly impressed with her determination and willingness to learn, adding that her positive energy was a welcome addition and she displayed a high level of competence, dedication, and professionalism which significantly contributed to the efficiency of our operations. AIRTEC is excited to be able to continue to support the Southern Maryland (SoMD) 2030 Workforce Development Program, a career initiative helping college students gain real-world professional experience. This collaborative effort is through The Patuxent Partnership (TPP), the Naval Air Warfare Center Aviation Division (NAWCAD), and the Southern Maryland Navy Alliance, connecting talented students with paid internships. Please join us in welcoming our summer intern Brooke Charley! Brooke is a rising senior at Towson University’s School of Business and Economics, majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management. She has been a welcome addition to the team, supporting multiple busy departments in finance, technical publications, program and project management. She joined us as part of the Southern Maryland (SoMD) 2030 Workforce Development Program. SoMD 2030 is focused on providing STEM career opportunities and expanding partnerships with government, industry, and academia. This collaborative effort is through The Patuxent Partnership (TPP), the Naval Air Warfare Center Aviation Division (NAWCAD), and the Southern Maryland Navy Alliance, connecting talented students with paid apprenticeships and internships. AIRTEC has participated since the program’s inception last summer, hosting two interns, one of which was able to return during winter break. We are excited to be able to continue to support this community career initiative, helping college students gain real-world professional experience, and even more excited for the talented individuals it brings. The application process is highly competitive with hundreds of applicants for a few dozen participating organizations in the area. TPP narrows down the qualified applicants with the final interview and selection process done by the organization. It is incredibly beneficial for all involved and we appreciate the time and hard work that goes into a trailblazing program like this to make it successful. Brooke said she is incredibly fortunate to have been selected to work at AIRTEC this summer. She has enjoyed learning about what it takes behind the scenes to support global airborne missions with our custom fleet of aircraft. Brooke’s biggest influence has been her Dad, who served in the U.S. Navy and she wants to pursue her career supporting the Navy’s mission, hopefully in the local area. She is grateful to have already grown so much by participating in this program and looks forward the next several weeks at AIRTEC to continue learning as much as she can. When asked what she enjoyed the most about working here she said, ‘I enjoy being able to connect with others, and of course, having my office in a hangar is very cool because I get to see the planes all day.” We think it’s cool too, Brooke! April is our Technical Publications lead responsible for quality control records for all equipment, tools, manuals, diagrams, and other associated documents. She was instrumental on a recent project, successfully overcoming many obstacles.
