Step into the world of local leadership with the Albany Area Political Leadership Institute, where your journey to public service begins. The Albany Area Political Leadership Institute is a non-partisan program designed to provide citizens working knowledge of the local political process and opportunities for public service. The three-session program is perfect for anyone interested in serving on appointed boards or in elected office. Participants will get a primer on government, opportunities for service, campaigning for office and what Albany needs from its appointed and elected officials. The program features exclusive networking opportunities. A limited number of applicants will be competitively chosen by a selection committee. Participants represent a diverse range of business expertise, backgrounds and community involvement. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024, via this online form: https://bit.ly/24-25PLI Print applications will not be accepted. Session Dates are as follows: -November 14: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Lunch provided. Networking social to follow. -December 5: 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Networking social to follow. -January 22: 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Networking social to follow. The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated the expansion of Tribal Fitness with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 10th. Owner and lead personal trainer Vernon Cruz welcomed dozens of guests to their facility at 2510 Archwood Drive, where attendees explored Tribal Fitness's state-of-the-art amenities, met the dedicated team, and learned about the variety of services offered, including strength training, personal training, and cardio boxing.
