(Alcona Health Center), shall be to promote, develop and operate such facilities and programs as are necessary to provide quality health care to all residents of Alcona County and the surrounding areas, regardless of ability to pay.

Today our AHC team was able to meet with Kelly Lively, the Northern Michigan Regional Director from Senator Gary Peters of Michigan's office. She toured our newest facility (Alcona Health Center Pediatrics in Alpena), and we discussed the healthcare needs of northern rural Michigan's citizens.

We are passing along this important message from our friends at the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and the Health Center Advocacy Network - "Dear Health Center Advocates, During a time when federal funding for many programs is flat or declining, Community Health Centers won a substantial increase in base funding last week. YOU made it happen! However, another health center funding deadline is quickly approaching. Thirty percent of federal funding (annual/discretionary) for health centers and the National Health Service Corps run out on March 22 unless Congress acts before then. Please join the Call-in Campaign (https://lnkd.in/etq-Mbmp...) and Email Campaign (https://lnkd.in/gktBC7Pr...) to avoid a partial government shutdown and increase the risk of an automatic 1% cut in annual CHC funding.
