We would like to introduce our Altamira office in State College, Pennsylvania. It was stood up in 2016 with two experienced software engineers whose expertise was dataflow and reporting. We support numerous critical US DoD missions operating around the world. Since 2016 our office has expanded to take on several additional talented engineers and now supports everything from signal development to machine learning. Most recently the office has been adding a new generation of young talent hired directly out of college to help support the mission. Our State College office offers employees an opportunity to remain within driving distance of the MD, DC, and northern VA customers while residing in central Pennsylvania. #OfficeSpotlight #Altamira #LocationMatters #TalentAcquisition If this sounds interesting to you check out our openings. We would love for you to join our team! Geoff Ehringer Casey Leonard Kevin Scheib Rob Kennedy Joe McKernan Mario Chiappelli Jarrett Ammerman Robert Zupko

Thanks Alex! We enjoyed having you participate in our Intern program.
As my first internship comes to an end, I would like to reflect on my experience at Altamira Technologies Corporation. During my time at Altamira, I was a software engineering intern who was given the responsibility of analyzing, generating, and altering data using Python and CVAT while working alongside other programmers. Our department worked on a classified software project in contract with the Wright Patterson Air Force Base. This opportunity really helped me harness my Python programming skills, allowing me to become especially familiar with dictionaries, numpy, and matplotlib. I learned a lot of new skills through this internship, one of the greatest ones being my ability to work with others on large coding projects. Whenever assigned a task I was given someone else’s code and I would have to take the time to read it, understand it, and enhance it further. It was always a rewarding experience whenever I was able to leave someone else’s code better than when I found it. My key takeaways from my time there were the importance of meeting deadlines, being able to problem solve, and knowing when to ask for help. With writing code the devil is always in the details, which can make it very tedious at times. But, when you’re able to rise above it and solve that problem, then it becomes well worthwhile. That’s what I felt while working for Altamira which makes me much more enthusiastic about my future in a software engineering career. I would like to thank all of my managers, supervisors, and fellow coworkers who helped me make this transition into my career as smooth as possible. The environment at the Altamira office was like no other, where even though I was an intern I was treated like an full time employee and I truly cannot thank Altamira enough for giving me this opportunity. #udaytoncoopintern University of Dayton School of Engineering Altamira Technologies Corporation
