Had a fantastic time at the ballpark with the Akron RubberDucks during a corporate partner batting practice! Alterra's partnership with the Ducks focuses on increasing awareness, access, participation, and support of #recycling. Nicholas Bello's impressive pitching skills made it tough for Scott Sass and me to hit one out to deep RF where our #Inficycle sign proudly stands. OR maybe we were just being humble in front of our kids! ;) Excited that the Ducks will be in town during the upcoming Advanced Recycling Summit: Circularity in Plastics organized by Smithers. An excellent opportunity to connect with colleagues, customers, or suppliers in a fantastic local venue with an amazing team on the field. A big shout out to Jenn Pieper-Klein and the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council team for planning the #EarthDay Clean Up in #Columbus to kick off their Annual Conference. Angela Sot and I were able to participate and divert a portion of the valuable discarded plastics from ending up in the landfill and instead are bringing them back to Alterra where they will be #Inficycled…..https://lnkd.in/ewBmnUCu

Thank you to Casey Shevlin at City of Akron, Ohio and Emma Segedy and Jacqui Flaherty-Ricchiuti at Keep Akron Beautiful for hosting a well-organized #EarthDay clean up in #Akron where over 1,000 pounds of litter was removed from the streets! A special thank you to Mayor Shammas Malik for kicking off the event and being such a positive role model for our community. Much of the discarded plastic that Angela Sot, Elisa Reyes, Michael Lind, and Ron S. collected was NOT landfilled. It was brought back to Alterra's #Inficycling facility to be recycled. We were asked throughout the event, “Can this be recycled?” – Yes it can!  #sustainability, #SolvingPlasticPollution
