Eric Koenig, Spokane District Manager, and assistant to the District Manager, Jax, visited an NIPF client property in Central Washington to prepare for a timber harvest. As they worked, they got to soak in the gorgeous landscape with the Norse Peak Wilderness and Mt. Rainier in the background. What a great day at the office!

When daycare is closed, Dad is on deck! Jeremy Miller, Region Technical Manager in Milford, ME, took his daughter into the field as he marked previously measured trees for an Enhanced Forest Inventory project. His daughter was a trooper as she trekked through the woods and endured pesky bug bites. Delicious snacks gave her the strength and motivation she needed to power through!

Chuck Mathis, Managing Director, Southern Operations in Marianna, FL, saw this baby gopher tortoise while working in the field. Although this friend is small, he's likely one or two years old, as hatchlings tend to be yellow-orange and brown. Hopefully, this gopher tortoise will have a long life ahead of him, as they can live in the wild for 40-60 years in habitats like pine flatwoods, dry prairies, coastal dunes, and longleaf pine sandhills.

Today isn't take your child to work day, but it's fun to go to work with Dad nonetheless! Steve MacDonald, Forester in Milford, ME, brought his son Joshua to inspect a logging job and road work on a client's property. Joshua saw a processor implementing a harvest and an excavator doing road work, which gave him a taste of what it's like working in the Maine woods. Could Joshua be the next forester in training?
