Yesterday, ASM held a congressional briefing on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. today focused on #antimicrobialresistance. Panelists at the briefing include Silvia Bertagnolio from the World Health Organization, Michael Craig from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Patrick Mateta from the African Society for Laboratory Medicine. The panelists provided perspectives on AMR detection, treatment and prevention as key priorities, with a focus on the role of the U.S. in combating the growing threat of AMR around the world. ASM Public Policy and Advocacy is partnering with our Global Public Health Programs today to host a policy conference, “Pathways to Progress Against AMR,” that focuses on improving equitable access to diagnostic services across the globe to help combat #antimicrobialresistance.
