Celebrating a great milestone for Detroit in earning the #HEARTSafe Community designation! 🎉👏 This designation makes Detroit a part of a national preparedness program dedicated to improving outcomes of sudden cardiac arrest, led by the Citizen CPR Foundation. Detroit Fire Department leads the critical work of CPR training in the City of Detroit, in collaboration with community partners. Through these partnerships, more than 100,000 people have been trained in CPR in the past year in the city. Win. 🥇 The EMS World Clinical Challenge is a clinical competition in which teams of two respond to challenging scenarios that test clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills, teamwork, communication, and situational awareness. Teams elect to participate in either an ALS or BLS track depending on their level of certification. A panel of judges will evaluate their performance and provide valuable feedback. Act fast or watch from the sidelines—only a few ALS spots and a limited number of BLS spots are left! Every participant will receive a limited-edition challenge coin. Celebrating the success of Governor Kathy Hochul’s NY SWIMS Initiative! This summer, over 2,000 swimmers took advantage of free Learn-to-Swim lessons at New York State Parks with 22 facilities hosting lessons across the state – tripling the number of facilities from previous years. Through the Centennial Campaign, the American Red Cross provides training to State Park lifeguards to obtain Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification. This allowed the certification of 40 additional WSIs this season. “We are proud that the American Red Cross Aquatics Centennial Campaign is helping the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation make high quality swim lessons available to families across the state," states Red Cross Eastern New York Region Interim CEO Kate Qualters. ➡️Read more about it here: https://rdcrss.org/3yACaW7 #CentennialSwim
