The Port of San Diego together with the U.S. Navy are using electrification efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality, and improve public health around San Diego's working waterfront. These efforts are partially funded through the LCFS credits generated and monetized by Anew Climate. The credit sales provide essential funding towards future electrification projects that will benefit the local community, the broader region, and our national security. We know our trees to their core With more than 13,000 (harmless) tree core samples from our projects, Anew Climate's forestry team holds unrivaled insight into the rate of tree growth and carbon sequestration across North American forests. Cores are a window into how each tree has grown over its lifetime; through the decades and seasons in that particular ecosystem. This data is a core component (we had to) to help inform a forest's carbon productivity, which we continue to verify over the life of each project. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ght3Kmcp

A recent piece published in The Wall Street Journal explores the technologies behind reducing methane emissions, a greenhouse gas that is up to 90x more potent than carbon dioxide but dissipates far faster in the atmosphere - in about a decade compared to hundreds or thousands of years. Some of the greatest opportunities to mitigate methane emissions are scaling up in waste management and agriculture. Anew Climate's team of experts partner with landfill operators, wastewater treatment plants, and the agriculture industry to take advantage of the technologies and markets to turn a harmful emission into a cleaner energy source.
