Want to know a secret? A lot of recycled #battery materials don’t ever make it back to the lithium-ion battery supply chain. ♻ 🔋 #Recycling processes that generate #blackmass and #metal salts often send these raw materials overseas, where they may or may not return to the global #EV battery supply chain. Too often, black mass is diverted from the battery #supplychain to make other products, like stainless #steel. Not particularly helpful to North America’s EV transition. Far from a closed loop, today’s EV battery ecosystem is leaking. Recycling alone does not equal #circularity. In this special presentation, CEO Mike O'Kronley talks about barriers to EV battery circularity and how Ascend Elements is working to return every kilogram of #recycled battery materials back to the domestic EV battery supply chain. Watch the full video and learn how Ascend Elements’ Hydro-to-Cathode® technology is closing the loop by making #decarbonized EV battery #cathode material in the United States. 👇 https://lnkd.in/eAVjy5a5
