We're California dreamin' on such a summer's day. Join us in congratulating all who were recognized at The MICHELIN Guide California reveal last night in Half Moon Bay, notably chef William Bradley's Addison in San Diego for retaining their three stars, and chef Seth Stowaway's Osito in San Francisco for their one star. 

We helped gather friends of chef Marcus Samuelsson for a special evening commemorating his new collection with West Elm last week. Hosted at Samuelsson’s iconic Red Rooster, guests including supermodel Alek Wek, The View co-host Sunny Hostin, TV & radio personality Bevy Smith, actor/comedian Kalen Allen, artist Derrick Adams, toasted the chef’s first foray into home design over a menu of cornbread with peach jam, BBQ short rib with oxtail fried rice, miso grilled mushrooms and grilled strawberry cobbler, while live music from The Soapbox Presents and DJ Wemi kept the party vibes going. Ranging from furniture, lighting and tableware to textiles and art, the 32-piece Marcus Samuelsson + West Elm capsule nods to different facets of Samuelsson’s background. Energetic textiles recall Ethiopian craft traditions, clean and minimal woodwork harks back to Scandinavian design. Bright colors and brass finishes evoke the rich culture of Samuelsson’s longtime home of Harlem.

Last week, key stakeholders across design, food + drink, fashion, culture, and technology gathered at Travel + Leisure Co. World’s Best Summit to discuss the future of travel. We caught Tequila Casa Dragones CEO and co-founder, Bertha Gonzalez Nieves on the Eat, Sip, Travel: The New Culinary Journey panel, who spoke about what it takes to thrive in the hospitality industry today. She discussed how she incorporates experiential travel in her business ventures, including at La Casa Dragones, the tequila producer's private home in San Miguel de Allende--recently named Travel + Leisure's Best City in the World--which is bookable to the public for tequila tastings and tours. The summit culminated in T+L’s annual World's Best Cocktail Party, where guests celebrated the inspiring two days while enjoying Casa Dragones’ Pujol Ginger Margaritas.

Last week, we helped Din Tai Fung Restaurant Group celebrate the opening of its very first location in NYC (and the entire East Coast). We cheersed to the opening with a preview party, where guests watched chefs meticulously prepare Xiao Long Baos with 18 folds, weighing 21 grams each. The party was followed by the official ribbon cutting on Thursday, where co-Vice President + third-generation Din Tai Fung stewards Albert + Aaron Yang spoke to the crowd and presented grants to New York-based organizations Gold House and Apex for Youth in a celebration of culture and community. This past week, we celebrated the opening of Esse Taco, the vibrant new taqueria in the heart of Williamsburg, offering a taste of Mexico City. We celebrated with mariachi bands, corn husk meringue sundaes, and of course, tacos. Congratulations to the Casamata family on their Brooklyn debut!
