After 3 months at beehiiv, I discovered our secret sauce 🤫. At beehiiv, employees are ambassadors for the product. Employee-led marketing is our secret weapon. Our sales team, including Dane Miller 🐝, Sam Brady 🐝, Kevin Chambers 🐝, and Daniel Berk 🐝, constantly nurture the pipeline and close deals through social media. Our marketing and product teams are all over social with Steven V., Kanishka K., Edward W., and of course Bella Rose Mortel 🐝. Tyler Denk 🐝 leads the charge, with founder-led marketing. This is just a tiny fraction of the beehiiv employees engaging on social. I challenge you to go a day on LinkedIn/X without seeing a 🐝 emoji in your newsfeed. This approach made me realize I should be doing the same for partnerships alongside Tyler Gillespie 🐝. We are not just promoting a product; we are building a community. This creates trust and loyalty among users. People prefer real interactions over generic ads. When you see a beehiiv employee talking about the product, you see genuine enthusiasm. It’s not just about the product; it’s about the people behind it. This is the power of employee-led marketing. It’s real, it’s personal, and it works. now you know 😉

All employees actively give feedback about the product, use cases, ideas, and ways to improve. We do this effectively because we ourselves are beehiiv creators and builders at the core. 2. Dozens of employees are active on social — sellers, marketers, founders, social team, engineers, talent. Employees at beehiiv are the most evangelistic beehiiv customers there are. We shout the praises of beehiiv from the rooftops because we believe beehiiv is the best. 3. We have a shared expectation across the board that we are going to win. Winning isn't just a fun idea that we day dream about. Winning is a mindset we adopt every single day. The drive and ambition we exhibit across the entire organization is unmatchable. 4. We obsessively listen to our customers. We listen to them everywhere they are. Social media, dark social (anon Reddit forums, Discord, etc.), in real life (meet ups, coffee sessions), and more. We know that we are nothing without our customers and so we prioritize them intentionally and consistently. 5. Bias to action is in our blood. We do more in a week than some companies know how to do in a year. We set high expectations for ourselves and we expect the same from our coworkers and the teams across the org. Building a unicorn doesn't happen by accident, and building beehiiv is not an exception. beehiiv is what beehiiv is because of who beehiiv consists of.
