We are thrilled to announce our pilot partnership with Square Mile Coffee Roasters, the award-winning coffee roasting company co-founded by specialty coffee pioneer James Hoffmann. This partnership represents a significant milestone for the clean microroastery movement in the UK and Europe, enabling Square Mile to produce consistent, high-quality coffee across multiple locations without compromising quality. James Hoffmann, co-founder of Square Mile, shared his insights: “Sustainability is always top of mind, and last year’s roasting experiment proved to me that Bellwether’s roaster is capable of creating high-quality coffee with a drastically reduced carbon footprint. Early results of test roasts are going well and we look forward to sharing more as we work with Bellwether to fine-tune our high-quality coffee now with a low-carbon footprint.” This marks a significant step in the clean microroastery movement and showcases how electric roasting is not just the future—it’s here. #sustainability #coffee #coffeeroasters

As the global specialty coffee market continues to grow, more and more roasters are popping up and making their mark on the industry. And perhaps the most synonymous with specialty coffee are micro roasters: small-sized roasting operations with a precise focus on sourcing exceptional coffees. In recent years, with interest in exclusive varieties and limited-edition lots rising, the micro roaster market has exploded. Coffee enthusiasts and industry professionals alike are becoming increasingly keen on tasting the coffees that these roasters have to offer – which also tend to emphasise transparency and traceability. So how has the micro roaster sector changed over the last few years, and where could it be heading in the future? In today’s article, Rachel Keen speaks to Ben Ireland and Ricardo Lopez of Bellwether Coffee to find out more. #PerfectDailyGrind #MicroRoaster #CoffeeRoasting https://lnkd.in/dFg2cD7Z

We’re excited to introduce the Bellwether Shop Roaster, the newest innovation in our mission to bring sustainable onsite roasting to every coffee retailer in the world. Building off the success of our Series 2 Roaster, the Shop Roaster features the same electric, ventless and automated technology Bellwether is known for, but with expanded capabilities and at a significantly lower price point to meet the needs of more retailers across the globe. The Shop Roaster is offered as a countertop roaster or a free-standing roaster with autoloader and base cabinet which combine to create the industry’s first Continuous Roasting functionality. Continuous Roasting allows a single machine to produce as little as 1.5 kilos (3.3 lbs) or as much as 20 kilos (44 lbs) in a single operation, allowing any retailer to roast up to 400lbs per week of fresh, custom coffee, in-house. Bellwether roasters remove 90% of the carbon from roasting, producing the lowest carbon coffee possible while upholding a level of quality and consistency not possible with manual machines. “The Bellwether Shop Roaster is ushering in the next wave of the microroastery movement by empowering all retailers to realise the promise and impact of electric on-site coffee roasting from farm-to-cup,” said Ricardo Lopez, our founder and CEO of Bellwether. “Our platform enables any business to reduce costs, grow revenues, and differentiate their brand with the added benefit of selling the most delicious and lowest-carbon coffee that supports living incomes for farmers. Because we’re lowering the barrier to entry to roast on-site, we’re allowing more retailers to deliver the freshest coffee for better taste.” The all-new Shop Roaster is available for sale now in the US, Canada, Europe, UK, and Japan, with prices starting at just $14,900.
