Let’s give a big Besa welcome to Elford, Inc 💚 At Besa, we believe in the power of partnerships to create meaningful impact. Elford’s mission to BUILD, SERVE, and LEAD perfectly aligns with our vision for community engagement so of course we had to find a volunteer opportunity perfectly tailored for them! Elford kicked off their partnership with an afternoon of service at Furniture with a Heart Thrift Store, benefiting the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio. The Elford team assembled furniture, organized donations, and more. Their efforts resulted in $875 of community impact, directly supporting families in need. That’s what we call building a stronger community! Learn more about how Besa can build a volunteer program specifically made for your company at besa.org/businesses.

“What gives me hope is that we are alive and that we are here. And we have an opportunity. There's a lot of challenges in the world, we just turn on the news, we turn on social media. A lot of negative energy coming our way. But there's also an opportunity to put positive energy out there, and each of us has that opportunity. And when that happens, beautiful things happen. Community gets built.” Last month, Besa Founder & CEO Matthew Goldstein spoke at the Columbus Metropolitan Club's Annual State of Nonprofits Luncheon alongside Suzan Bradford Kounta (Lincoln Theatre), Gabrielle Fields (Franklinton Farms), and Kristen Rost (Nationwide Foundation) The panel, moderated by Dan Sharpe (The Columbus Foundation), provided a hopeful outlook on nonprofits despite the current climate we face. Together, we can make an impact in our communities. 💚 📸 provided by Ian Crumpler

Columbus City Council and the Franklin County Board of Commissioners have each committed $300,000–$600,000 combined–to Besa for 2024, helping us reach our goal of facilitating 2,300 volunteer experiences this year, up from 2,000 in 2023. “These investments from the city and county will make it possible for us to support thousands more neighbors across the community,” said Besa CEO Matthew Goldstein. “We know that civic engagement—particularly volunteerism—is key to a successful region, and we’re here to make engaging with the community easy and impactful so that ultimately, we all win.” We're grateful to partner with the city and county to amplify volunteerism, bring people together and make Columbus a kinder, more connected community.
