I recall a conversation I had not long ago with an experienced executive who had spent over two decades rising through the ranks in his company. He called me shortly after his organization announced a round of mass layoffs—this time, his position was among those affected. At first, he felt lost and questioned his entire career trajectory. I could hear the anxiety in his voice, but what struck me was how quickly his mindset shifted. 💡 After years of mentoring others, he realized it was his time to take his own advice. "This is the perfect time to focus on myself," he said. "It's not about the company anymore; it's about rediscovering my strengths, reflecting on where I want to go next, and building myself back up." He started by re-engaging with his professional network and exploring opportunities for growth. It wasn't long before he found new possibilities—not just career prospects but avenues for #personal and #professional development that he had overlooked while climbing the corporate ladder.
