Tips to maximize the Life of your Power Tool Lithium-ion Batteries 1. Only use original manufacturer’s system components – tool, battery, and charger. Each manufacturer utilizes their own unique control circuity which allows the system to communicate properly. 2. Store the batteries away from direct sunlight or heat. The storage place shouldn’t have temperatures exceeding 50°C or in other words, 120°F. 3. Store batteries away from moisture. Because this moisture can corrode the terminals of the batteries. 4. Store batteries away from freezing temperatures. Extreme colds can also crack the cells of your battery. 5. Determine the optimal charge for storage. The ideal charge for lithium-ion battery storage is 40-60%. This effectively establishes an electron equilibrium between the positive and negative ends.

Today is National Arc Flash Awareness Day The campaign aims to create safer working environments and reduce the number of incidents and injuries by providing education and knowledge. Arc flashes present an ever-present danger for electrical workers. Temperatures can reach 35,000 °F, that's more than three times hotter than the sun! The goal of anyone working with electricity is to go home safely at the end of the job. While you cannot eliminate the risk, education, prevention, and the right PPE can drastically minimize hazards on the job.
