Unfortunately, due to the impacts from Hurricane Francine we will have to postpone Saturday’s Native Plant Giveaway at the Nicholls Farm. The event will be rescheduled and announced at a later date. Additionally, Nicholls State University campus will remain closed until Monday, September 16th — our office will remain closed until then.

We had a great time at the WYES New Orleans Coastal Expo last weekend! Biological Resources Coordinator Delaina LeBlanc, Communications and Public Relations Coordinator Emily Bonvillain, and Invasive Species and Marine Programs Coordinator Michael Massimi attended to share a bit about our program with visitors. We enjoyed sharing our work and hearing from the citizens of #OurEstuary! In addition, several films from the WYES "CHALLENGES & OPPORTUNITIES: The Louisiana Coast" series were screened, including one that featured Michael and our BTNEP Management Conference. Attendees also heard about coastal issues from a panel of experts, including former BTNEP Director Steve Mathies. BTNEP's Director, Bren Haase, will also be featured in an upcoming installment of the series on Monday, August 26th at 9 pm on WYES to discuss how local organizations are preparing for the future coastal workforce. You can catch a sneak peek here: https://lnkd.in/gCTPNSrJ Thank you to the WYES team for hosting such a fantastic event and advocating for Louisiana's coast!
