As part of our “How It Started” interview series, we had the pleasure of chatting with Bojan Trocevski, General Manager at Hibernica, a new legal cannabis dispensary in the Bronx and the first in the Pelham Bay area. Bojan comes from the restaurant and hospitality industry, but during the pandemic, all the restaurants shut down. He went to California to work on a cannabis farm in Humboldt County, where he spent a couple years learning to grow and care for the plant from seed to sale. When he came back to NYC, the CAURD applications were open, and he decided to go for it. As part of our “How It Started” interview series, we had the pleasure of chatting with Aaron Riley, CEO & Founder of Certified Testing & Data (CTND), which offers analytical testing services to protect the health and well-being of consumers. After a foray into cannabis sales while in college and getting into a bit of trouble, Aaron’s initial attempt into cannabis didn’t ultimately work out. He started a car dealership/detailing business at 22 with $20k. As that expanded, he used the funds to invest in real estate, but always kept an eye on cannabis. Once Aaron decided testing would be his industry focus, he acquired Cannasafe, the first ISO-accredited cannabis testing lab in the world. CTND came to be after leaving CannaSafe, starting with a lab in Florida and recently expanding to NY. Check out the whole interview below!
